Crowds in Sept and Oct

Which month is the best for Crowds september or october??

Have only been in October gavvy but the crowds have been fine even around Halloween

I went in May this year and the crowds were low then, i was hoping that Oct would be the same, as i was planing to go back!

September is fine, crowds are low, everyone is back at school. I'd recommend September anytime.

Do avoid first few days of September when America has a "Bank Holiday" (Think its called Columbus Day?) and it's busy.
Also avoid 21-31 Oct for various reasons making it a peak week.
In between is best, but the later you go, the better the weather in that period.

The holiday at the beginning of September is Labor Day. Columbus Day falls on the second Monday on October. Details of Federal Public Holidays can be found here.
