Hi! I was just wondering how the crowds at the World were for Thanksgiving?? Are there any special attractions (ie...the MNSSHP) Thanks for the info!

Welcome to the DIS!!!!

Your post was heading to page two, so I want to bump this up for you. I can only answer from when we went in 1998. We were dumb and did MK on Thanksgiving Day. Big Mistake!!!! Don't do MK on Thanksgiving Day, whatever you do! Otherwise, the crowds then were managable except for Thanksgiving Day.

forrestmouse....
We went this past Thanksgiving and it was an awesome time to go. We arrived on Thanksgiving day and headed to Epcot after we checked in. I was expecting mobs of people and it was not crowded at all. In fact, there wasnt anyone in line for space ship earth. zero minute wait!! I knew not to go to MK on Thanksgiving, and in fact, we only went there Saturday night to see Spectro. Other than that night, we steered clear of MK until Monday. I would recommend going over thanksgiving. Just choose your parks wisely ( meaning no MK until after the weekend ) We had nice weather and the other parks werent bad at all. we were so pleasantly surprised. Seeing the decorations were the best. You HAVE to see it snow on main street!! it was soooooo pretty. It was even cold out the day we went to MVMCP so that made it all the more great!! You just cant beat walking down main street in the cold weather and watching it "snow" while you sip hot chocolate!!!!

Having been at WDW many times at Thanksgiving, the above posts are all correct. It is a nice time to go, but stay away from MK until at least the Sunday after Thanksgiving. The holiday decorations magically go up that weekend, and it is very nice.

Hi! Been to the world twice during Thanksgiving week and am going again this year! We do the parks Mon-Fri of Thanksgiving week. Mon-Wed are very managable- pretty low waits for everything. Thanksgiving Day is mobbed at MK- but my mom insists on going (our family travels together). We make use of EE and make PS for character meals and use the day to watch parades and take it slow. Friday is OK- we do AK and Epcot- managable. We try to avoid the weekends. Great time to go, just have a plan and utilize EE and FastPass- have a great time and see you there!

Okay, our plan is to do EE (we are staying at WL) at the MK and have an early lunch at CRT. After that, we will probably head back to WL for a break and then over to Epcot for the evening. Is this doable or will we be sorry? I can't see it being any less crowded on Fri or Sat and we leave on Sunday.... We have Epcot planned for Fri (non EE) and AK for SAt (non EE).

I guess what I am asking is... should we switch MK to Fri or Sat and do another park onThurs, or will it not make much difference anyway? We aren't trying to go "commando" this trip. Just going to enjoy what we can.
