Hi,

I am just starting to plan my families 3rd trip to Disney. We have decided to stay at Pop Century from Sept 17 to the 24th. What do you vets think the crowds and weather will be like from your past experiences. We were there in Oct of 2003 and with the FTP the crowds where crazy we are hoping for a little less crowds this time.....

Thanks

We were there last Sept on the FTP. We only got in a couple of crowds--the biggest was at AK on a Monday--an EMH day. It wasn't empty at all, but very pleasant. The weather was very HOT and HUMID most of the time. Of course, the HURRICANE missed FL that week. Always a concern in Sept. This was our first trip, but we had a blast and really never waited in a line. The fastpass machines were covered up! We got one fast pass the entire week--for Pooh. This was on a Friday evening and the wait time was 20 minutes and return time was 30 minutes. Have a great trip!

Crowds and weather wise it's a great time to go. By Disney standards crowds are "low" and the weather hot, but not unbearablly so. Rain (if any) is almost always those hit or miss thunderstorms that the weather forecasters can never get right. Hurricanes are possible--but in all our years of going to WDW in Sept. they have never been a factor. Well--just once. But that was when a hurricane hit Pennsylvania, not WDW!!

I'll be there the same time! I've changed the dates of my trip from December to September to be able to go with my best friend and her husband (she works retail and can't get away during December).

My question is: will we not be able to see Wishes during that time? I'm sure the parks close relatively early, which is fine - 4 adults can find something else to do in the World! I just want to be able to see Wishes. I've always gone in August, so the weather isn't a problem and the crowds shouldn't be an issue. I just want to make sure that Wishes will be shown at least once while I am there. It probably won't be every night, but they have to show it at least once a week, right??

Any info on this?

What's FTP?

FTP = Fairytale Package

It was the package deal they had last year where you paid for 4 nights, and got 7. Basically the same deal as this year, except you got 3 nights instead of 2 nights for free.

FTP was the Fairy Tale Package that they ran last year. Similar to the 7 for 5 that they are running now. But I think it was 7 for 4.

Wishes will run. It usually runs every night. Spectromagic is usually the thing that only runs on the weekends.

We have been a few times in Sept and love it. Crowds are great. But it is still VERY hot. And if you look at the historical weather picture, Sept has one of hte highest months for rain. But again it is the thunderstorm variety that passes quickly.

Hope you enjoy.

We have been in September the last three years, and love it. The crowds are low and the weather is hot. We've never had a problem with rain. One year we arrived just after a tropical depression that flooded my parts of Florida. But, after that, it was beautiful. Each year, the crowds have increased a little. The year of 9/11 it was a ghost town, but now the crowds are low enough to keep the lines down, but high enough to give you more than 1/4 full theater for shows.

I love September. The park hours are shorter, but since the lines are non-existent you get a lot done in a little amount of time. We tend to spend our evenings at Epcot enjoying different restaurants, etc. Or DTD. Spectro is usually run only on Saturday, and Wishes is new so I don't know when it will run. So far, it's been every night or every other night, so I think it will be run more often than once a week, even in low season.

Have fun!!!
