Crocs, The Unofficial Disney "Shoe" May Be Bad Choice

I typically wear my croc sandals one or two days in a week long trip for a change of pace. I think my feet will survive. I think they work great for those occasional days because the squishy sole is what my feet need after a couple days in sneakers.

That's barely an article, and it had nothing to do with Disney.

I don't recall saying the article was written about Disney. Perhaps you misread. Here it is again....

It is well-known that Disney fans love Crocs. I see them suggested on this page all of the time as one of the best shoes for the theme parks. Not according to this article....

(Don't shoot the messenger. I am just sharing since the question pops up on the TPAAS forum about shoes almost weekly)

I've tried half a dozen other shoes, but none of them are comfortable at WDW. I wear ugly black Crocs with wicking Powersox (I know, the fashion horror!) and my feet feel fine at the end of the trip. Sore as heck, sure, but fine. No blisters at all, ever, even when it as pouring rain and we trooped through AK for 10 hours. I only wear them to WDW, however, and out to check the mail at home.

My sister feels the same. That is the only shoe she wears at Disney.

When she gets home, she says her other shoes hurt her for about a week. Maybe it is a support thing?

The best for Sister And me Was the Sketchers Go Walk (me with socquettes). Ugly but confortable And light.

Comments are interesting (many from at least those claiming to be podiatrists) and very positive. I only buy the ones with the adjustable heel strap and they provide heel support as well as great support for my high arches. Tried Keens and they hurt worse than any shoe i've tried, but many swear by them. Good article to bring up i suppose, if nothing else to tell everyone not every shoe works for every foot, try them before you get to WDW and find out they hype of that particular shoe was not for you. Also, many recommend wearing different pairs on alternate days to "wear" differently and give different pressure points a days rest.

I love my Crocs, and I have recommended them, but with a caveat: although they say they're non-slip, if they're worn out (the treads on the bottom become smooth quickly with constant wear) they become very VERY slippery on wet, smooth surfaces. Just ask my left arm how that went after I shattered it because I slipped in a puddle on a wet, wood floor. :'(

I will concur, when I broke a bone in the bottom of my foot (yes, I'm a calamity) my podiatrist was good with me wearing crocs flip flops because of the support they provided, and because I couldn't fit them into sneakers.

I don't mind the other versions of Crocs people wear, but I can't stand seeing those "classic" style Crocs. I hate those hideous things. I will say they've came a long way as a company from those things, but since day one I wish they'd discontinue those

Everyone's feet are unique to them. It can be a struggle to find the "right" shoe for many of us. I like the threads where the original poster specifies their needs and those who respond have similar issues. Me? I have to change shoes daily for comfort and have several.

I love my croc band flip and it's the only thing I wear at home(march-november) and at WDW. I have to wear flip flops in FL because I get too hot if I have to wear sneakers. Flops make me feel cooler(heat wise) and my croc flips are so squishy and feel great on my feet walking all day. I thought it was a silly article talking about heel stabilizing or something when I guess not everyone needs that. I wear flops 8 months out of the year and am fine with it personally.

Amen! VERY true worn crocs on the bottomm are deadly dangerous

To be fair, sneakers (or ANY shoe) worn out on the bottom are slippery and dangerous too.

Chuck Taylors, Inov-8 F-lites and flip flops for me. I tried boat shoes once, wouldn't recommend it. Crocs are gross, no thanks.

Hence my username lol we love crocs. My son refuses to wear anything except crocs even in winter.
