Crocs - I can't believe Im about to give in.....

I own a pair of Cayman's and a pair of the flip flops. I can't wear the flip flops for extended periods, but I'm on my second pair of Cayman's after walking at least 100 miles in the first pair without blisters. So comfy if not butt ugly.

I just returned after a week at WDW. All I wore were my Disney Crocs, and this was the first Disney trip in which I did not get one single blister and used absolutely nothing on my feet (no moleskin or bodyglide). I wore socks for two of the days but the rest of the week I wore them without.

If your Crocs rub anywhere on the top of your feet or toes you need to stretch them out before going (put them in dryer than wear them around with a few pairs of socks on). You want them looser (don't buy a bigger size necessarily as you don't want them incredibly long) especially if you are prone to swelling. Since I'm pregnant my feet swell even if I have them propped up in A/C all day, but my feet still did great, felt great, and no blisters.

Ugly? Yes they are. But for comfortable feet I'll sacrifice beauty. Otherwise I'd wear high heels to the parks all day and end up unable to walk the next.

I bought a pair and they are really comfy. I do wear them with ped type socks as my feet sweat. I am happy to hear that people have gotten through a trip to Disney with them with no problems. Younger DS says he will not be seen with me if I wear the crocs. Oh well, I'll miss his company!

So far I have the Cayman, Athens (the flip flops), Mary Janes, Cleo, and Sassari (the new wedge heels) and I just ordered a pair of the CrocsRX for arthritic/plantar fascitis feet to wear in Italy this summer.

Those Cleos are my new favorites, and I'm wearing the black and white Sassari's with my cap and gown Saturday!

I'm a guy with Crocs and pseudo-Crocs. My authentic Crocs are the Disney ones and when I don't wear socks they rub on the top of my foot just a bit.
I also have a pair of Air-walks which is a Croc knockoff which are more comfortable if I am not wearing socks. For the parks I think I'll stick with the sneakers, but when we get back to the resort for lounging, I'll def be in the Crocs.:)

Please help. I have wide feet. What style crocs would work best for me?

Thanks for your suggestions.

From the Crocs site;

THE PERFECT CROCS™ FIT.

Crocs™ should not fit like other shoes:

They should fit very loosely.

The sides of your foot should not really touch the sides of the shoe.

Your toes should never make contact with the front of the shoe.

Once you have centered your foot on the foot-bed:

You should have about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of space in front of your toes, behind your heel and when you lift the strap you should be able to comfortably get your finger between the strap and heel.

In other words the fit should be “loose”.

I know that this goes against everything that you have ever been used to in a shoe, but these are the parameters that the shoe was designed to be worn under.

No Pressure points Ever!

To insure that the strap is not pulling your foot into the front of the shoe, rotate the strap forward and determine if your foot rests comfortably in the foot bed and there is room all around your foot. If so, you have the proper size but the strap is too short. To alleviate this issue, work your fingers around the strap and stretch it as you go around being careful not to put excessive pressure on the rivet hole. Stretch the strap until it is just short of the back edge of the shoe. The resin material has memory and will stay at the proper length after one or two of these types of adjustments.

i have multiple pairs of crocks but my absolute favorite ones are my offroad crocs. they are a little thicker in the sole and have a bit more support. i am a diabetic and have to be careful of what i wear but these are awesome.

I just bought my first pair today for our trip in 18 days!!!!!!!!!!!

I normally wear tennis shoes (addidas running that are the meshy kind...breathe better than all leather.)
but, last time in wdw, we had a rain day and I wore flip flops and slipped and slidded all over their smooth black top!

I walked 2 miles in my new Crocs today (barefoot) and not 1 blister!

I went to the crocs.com website where you can buy disney ones but they want to charge $10 for shipping a 2 oz. pair of shoes.......ridiculous!

I went to sports authority and had my pick! they also had disney ones for little ones but not for adults.

my biggest decision is what color? these were 29.99 so I only wanted 1 pair. I chose pearl. they are not a bright white and not quite cream. looked good with denim as well as kahki (the basic shorts I always wear)

****note.....only original Crocs are antimicrobial so you won't be smelly and they are also slip resistant--very important on wet days.

I will be packing my Crocs along with my addidas tennis shoes for this trip.

Thank you!! thank you!! This was wonderful..answers alot of questions!

I have had foot problems since I was 14 (I'm now 57). I discovered Crocs three months ago and now own four pair - they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever, ever owned.

OK, I finally caved in and bought a pair once I found them in my size (I wear a women's 11-12 size shoe...yep, big feet). What do I do about the squeaking these shoes make???? They are quite comfortable, but I've never managed a whole day in them because they squeak when I walk and it drives me nuts. Any suggestions???

Socks.

I have wide feet too...what are the details on stretching them out with the dryer?????

mb168, let me kind of explain...kind of...

since the crocslite material softens with heat (hence the molding to your foot the more you wear them), you can stick them in the dryer briefly (a few minutes) to soften, then you stretch them out with your sock-clad foot, or pull on the strap. Let it cool on your foot or whatever and you should be good to go. I'm thinking that it also shrinks them, because I botched up the stretching process with my Primas (put them in the dryer then walked around in them, thereby flattening it out and losing all shape in the shoe) so I threw it back in the dryer to regain it's original shape. They are tighter now, so I tried to stretch out the toe area with a hairdryer. Seems to be working, but I have to do it again.

I refuse to wear the regular crocs because they are so ugly (sorry) but the ballet flats aren't terrible, if they are super comfortable I could probably deal with tme. Anyone wear the crocs ballet flats and done a lot of walking in them?

If not the ballet flats, possibly the flip flops? Even though they are kinda odd looking, maybe I could make the flip flops work if they are like the most comfortable flip flops ever made.

I wouldn't recommend a whole lot of walking in the Primas (ballet flats) because they don't have as much cushioning on the bottom. They are great for shopping and errands, but I wouldn't do the Parks in them. I wore them barefoot yesterday, but didn't like the sweaty feeling. I prefer to wear them with no-show ped-like socks (Hue hidden cotton liners).

I  my Athens flip flops!!! They are the most comfortable flip flops ever made for sure! Like walking on pillows... :thumbsup2 lol

So when they release the Dora and Spongebob models this summer, will everyone have to get a Disney pair for WDW and a Spongebob pair for USF?:)

I have the Croc Beach. I normally wear size 8 1/2 (women's), but those ran really small on me in Crocs. I had to get the L (W 10-11). And they fit perfect. I wear with no socks. I think they are very comfy, and probably won't cause me blisters. But I don't think they will help my feet not hurt after lots of walking at Disney. I can deal with that; it's the blisters that make life at DW miserable for me.
