Are Crocs appropriate for little boys. My DS is 5. I have seen the rave reviews for these and they would be great for a stomp in puddles little boy. Which ones and what color would you recommend? :)

My DS is 4.5 and LOVES his!! He wears them every day and they are perfect for this very active little boy. Stomp in puddles...dig in the mud...run around and play ball...come inside and wash them in the tub and they look like new...ready for another day!

We got him the Kids Caymans at a kiosk in our mall. He tried several colors but settled on the khaki color as it is "army" in his mind and matches his army pants! They also look great with his jeans, etc. But boys at my daughter's school have everything from black to orange and in between...so I'd say whatever he wanted. Although I have to say his first choice was purple and I steered him away from that choice!

My 6 yo son has the shiny blue ones. Not powder blue and not navy. He LOVES his and would rather wear those than tennis shoes.

My son (almost 6) saw my Crocs and said a boy in his class wears them every day. The other boy has black ones inks and now Quin thinks he needs some too....maybe soon...

My DS is 10 and he got his first pair last year. He wore them ALL OVER Disney in May 05. His first pair was Navy. He now has red and green as well. He had a hard time choosing between green and orange this time. I think I'm glad he chose the green ones.

I just bought my kids (4 1/2 yr old DD, and 6 y/o DS) their first pair of crocs. We go to WDW in May and had always planned on getting them, but I couldn't resist getting them early. DD picked hot pick, DS picked the sparkly blue (not girly at all). There are navy, brown, and black if you want even more boyish colors.

Anyway - around here, boys wear them a LOT. His friend has the bright green color and they look good on him.

My son is 11 has them. We started out with them, he had a wart on the bottom of his foot the doctor was in the process of freezing and his foot was sore. She suggested them, the wart is long gone but the Crocs remain. At first other boys made fun of them, but he doesn't care about that, wears them anyway and now some of those other boys do too! He much prefers them to his Nike's. And the best part is that these shoes he can actually hand down to his little sister! One good thing to know, as your child's feet grow, put the crocs in the dryer for a few minutes, then stretch them a bit when they are warm. They will "grow" a bit and last longer! He wears them every day and they look brand new, I just wash them with a wash cloth and mild soap occasionally to get the dirt off.

My DS4.5 LOVES his Crocs! We had gone to the department store to look for some for his big sister. I never even thought that he may want some. He asked why we were in that store & I told him. His face lit up & he said, "Can I get some Cwocs too? Do they have Cwocs in my size?" His pronunciation of Crocs was so sweet. Of course, he came out with a pair of Crocs all his own. He chose khaki.

My DS 5 loves his crocs! He wore them so much that the back strap fell off; we'll have to replace them before our WDW trip in May. They are red BTW, his favorite color. DD 6 has purple ones. Momma loves them because I don't have to tie any shoes!!! Takes 10 minutes off our getting ready time each day.....

As soon as I find a pair that'll fit dd, I'm buying them. She wants a purple pair.

I don't think I could pay ds or dh to try crocs.

I was able to convert the whole family to wearing Tevas, though that's another story. The Tevas are pretty decent looking. :teeth:

My 5 yr. old son loves his "frog green" crocs! He's allowed to wear them to school and he certainly does! It's his favorite color. :thumbsup2

I only started paying attention to these threads about crocs - sounds like they're durable and comfortable. Where can I find a picture of them? And where have you guys been buying them?

Thanks,
Linda

My DS6 LOVES his crocs. We have used them as "rewards" - he got his first pair when he was 5 and I don't even remember what we were teaching him to do, but I remember that he had a goal to meet and the reward was crocs. His first pair were red. He "earned" another pair this fall - he was having trouble adjusting to 1st grade (first time in public school) and we set him a goal for paying attention in class! That pair is black. Then my DH just gave in when they were shopping for my birthday and bought him lime green.

He loves them and wears them everywhere except to school - he seems worried that they might get "lost" during gym when he would have to change into his gym shoes and leave them in the hallway.

(Of course, I love my crocs too - I had 4 pair, but after Christmas & my b-day I now have 7!)

You can see them at www.crocs.com.

Around here (Chicago area) they are available at Sports Authority, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Von Maur. (Probably other places also - but that's where I've seen them.)

I have only been able to find the child sizes at Von Maur.

There are also many online retailers.

My DS-6 loves his Crocs too!! He has a red pair and a lime green pair.

I've been looking into them for my dd and myself. I've been wondering if you wear them without socks and if so do they make you sweaty?

I bought DS9 his first pair last weekend. He has tried them on several times and he really wanted a pair, so we bought the Ocean Blue. (They are kind of royal blue.) The first pair he ever tried were the DIS lime green ones, but I didn't think he would really wear green that much. We thought black would be too hot.

I bought my first pair last weekend, too, and today I decided to stop trying to hide them from DH. :rotfl: Mine are fuchsia and DH thinks they are the ugliest shoes he has ever seen. So far I have gone to the grocery and taken the baby for a walk (me walking, him in the stroller) around the neighborhood and the Crocs are good. I was worried because I didn't LOVE them when I tried them on. I think I will like them more as they take on the shape of my foot.

DS and I both got Caymans from Nordstrom. Dillard's has a couple of styles, and so does Dick's. DH saw them in an ad for another sporting goods store but I can't remember if it was Sports Authority or Academy. A couple of the shoe stores in the mall that carry more "trendy" styles also have them - I saw a lot at the Galleria last week.

What style do you get for your kids?? I am thinking the professional for me (i'm a nurse) for work, and maybe the aspen for home. My DD3 wants a pair in the worst way in PINK...of course.
no one answered the question of socks vs. no socks. For work, of COURSE socks, but home and the kids what do you think? Do you guys do DISNEY with or without socks?? :scratchin

thanks
