My son is 11 has them. We started out with them, he had a wart on the bottom of his foot the doctor was in the process of freezing and his foot was sore. She suggested them, the wart is long gone but the Crocs remain. At first other boys made fun of them, but he doesn't care about that, wears them anyway and now some of those other boys do too! He much prefers them to his Nike's. And the best part is that these shoes he can actually hand down to his little sister! One good thing to know, as your child's feet grow, put the crocs in the dryer for a few minutes, then stretch them a bit when they are warm. They will "grow" a bit and last longer! He wears them every day and they look brand new, I just wash them with a wash cloth and mild soap occasionally to get the dirt off.
