I really should call them, but since I'm here I thought I'd ask... we will be staying at Animal Kingdom - a suite I guess - there's a bedroom and kitchenette - does anyone know if they allow crockpots? It would be so great to have supper waiting at night.

Should you really leave something cooking in your room if you're not there?

You are going to leave something cooking in your room while you are out all day? That is a very bad idea. Even if crock pots are allowed (and I sure hope they aren't), I am sure they are not allowed to be left on and operating while the room is empty.

We leave a crock pot cooking alone in the house all day. I understand that if we burn down the house it's just our house and not a hotel filled with people, so I do totally get the responses that the OP has gotten. But in defense of the crock pot (LOL :rotfl:) they use very low watts and are generally safe.

To the OP I'd call Disney, but I really doubt they would say it was ok to do.

I believe all hotels including Disney do not allow you to bring cooking appliances. Hence why they offer DVC's and accomodiations with a kitchen for those that want.

Sorry but this post had me cracking up...the thought of having to cook at WDW makes me shudder with terror...I cook enough at home!

 You guys are so right. Sometimes I come up with the most embarassingly silly ideas! I will not be packing my crockpot!

Has anyone ever heard of a house fire started by a crock pot? I don't think the World is going to burn down because of a crock pot. And since they are alllowed in DVC (which they are and there are many threads of crock pot recipes) they are probably okay on the lower floors if you are in the hotel part of AK.
I really wish the Chicken Little sky is falling fearmongering would go away.

1) Yes, they do allow crack pots at AKL.
2) WDW does not discriminate.
3) How could someone think that WDW would do such a thing.

4) Oops.
5) Crock Pots, not Crack Pots.
6) The answer is no.
. . . there could be an electrical fire caused by a short
. . . the maids could get a burn if they move & spill the appliance
. . . maintenance men might eat your food (they get hungry about 3:00pm)

OP - if you have a bedroom/kitchenette - then that does not sound like the 1 bedroom suite with the full kitchen. It sounds like the studio - in which case you will have a teeny-tiny little counter that is taken up by a sink and a few appliances. It goes along with the teeny-tiny little mini fridge and the teeny- tiny little microwave (think Pop Tarts and microwave popcorn in this kitchenette). It is located right off the bedroom/living area - in the little hallway leading to the bathroom.

I personally wouldn't want to have to wedge a hot crock pot in that small space.
