Creepiest movie you have seen?

Definitely give it a chance. As much as it creeps me out, its one of my favorite movies, and it doesn't hurt that Richard Gere is easy on the eyes

Wait - I think we're talking about two different movies, then. This was a documentary. :)

I think so, the one I'm talking about isn't a documentary but the movie is based on supposedly true events.

Another movie that slowly turned up the creepiness was Arlington Road with Jeff Bridges. Joan Cusack was a stand out for me in that movie. She kept getting a little more creepy each time she appeared.

For me creepy its more about individual scenes than entire movies.
That reminds me of a scene in Salem's Lot (the original 1970's miniseries) that I saw at a much too young age. The scene where the kid with the evil glowing eyes floats up to the bedroom window and lightly taps and scratches at it, whispering, "Open the window". I could not go near a window at night after seeing that movie.

Also, I will never be able to listen to Tip toe thru the tulips again the same way.
What's so perfect about that song is that Tiny Tim is already creepy in his own special way, so it was a perfect fit for the movie.

The Richard Gere movie is very good. It also stars Laura Linney - one of my favorite actresses.

White Noise. Creeps the heck out of me.

Anymore I have next to no tolerance for horror movies though.

Children of the Corn

More recently - Splice (without giving it away to much the whole having relations with your creators weird...)

Exorcist closely followed by Cujo (which clues you into the last creepy movies I have gone to). :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Seven

I remember walking out the theater after it was over and everyone had this solemn and creeped-out looks on their faces - me included.

If I come across it while surfing, I surf faster.

I think that movie turned me off to that kind of movie altogether.

I liked Paranormal Activity a lot. I also liked Quarantine. This one gets criticized for the shaky camera bit but that part in the lab area just freaked me out! My all time favorite is still Halloween.

I'm glad to hear that Insidious is good. I hope to see it next week.

I agree, that was a creepy movie...I was very shocked and disturbed by the whole movie

LOL, I bet I saw that the same year you did! I was under 10 and it was on for something like the Movie of the Week (remember those) or on a Saturday after cartoons and I had nothing to do so I watched it because 'Hutch' was in it from "Starsky & Hutch":rotfl:, scared the bejezus out of me too.

When a Stranger Calls...the old version.

I have slept with a steak knife by my bed ever since.:scared1:

I realize you are making a distinction between horror/scary and creepy, but probably still The Exorcist, (and I watch a lot of horror movies.) I think it really holds up. The Saw movies are creepy, but most people would probably say those are more gory than creepy, and although they have gore, they have a lot of plot/story to them. At least the first 3, the remaining sequels are getting a little played.

One of the creepiest / scariest I have seen was from the early 90's. Stephen Kings "It". Scary clown movie. I was a newlywed, home alone while my husband traveled. It ran over a couple of nights. Slept with the lights on!

It was just soooooo creepy, and perfect! But the ending really stunk, what a let down. It seemed to not fit with the movie at all, it wasn't believable after watching what had been happening. I'd love to see it rewritten with a more fitting ending.

The Grudge. I cringe a bit just typing it. NEVER want to watch it again!!

This one is old, but Deliverance with Bert Reynolds freaked me out.

And many millions more. It was promoted again over the weekend on one of the Turner Broadcasting channels. Yuck.

I watched The Last Exorcism last night. That was pretty creepy...Movies with possesion really freak me out.

Also, there was a movie on the "Chiller" Channel a few weeks ago called Dead Girl, that really bothered me. I wouldn't say it scared me, but I was highly disturbed by it. Look it up. There a few movies by that tittle, this one is about 2 boys that find a girl in an abandoned hospital......etc...don't want to give too much away.

BTW...my family is from the town where the Mothman was supposedly seen. Point Pleasant WV...they have a statue and you can go into in of the little shops and find Mothman shirts and stuff. They take it very seriously. My great uncle won't even speak about it.

I refuse to watch another Saw movie after the first one. Those are images I will never get out of my head again.

I have to agree that Pan's Labrynth was just plain disturbing. The scene with the bottle might be the most graphic and horrid thing I've ever seen in a movie.
