Creepiest movie you have seen?

Hand that rocks the cradle. I was pg with DD2 the first time I saw it. :scared1: Yeah.

DH says Silence of the Lambs. Also, the first Nightmare on Elm Street. He still has nightmares about it. :rotfl:

One of the creepiest / scariest I have seen was from the early 90's. Stephen Kings "It". Scary clown movie. I was a newlywed, home alone while my husband traveled. It ran over a couple of nights. Slept with the lights on!

It was just soooooo creepy, and perfect! But the ending really stunk, what a let down. It seemed to not fit with the movie at all, it wasn't believable after watching what had been happening. I'd love to see it rewritten with a more fitting ending.

Ohhhh, this movie terrified me. I was legitimately afraid of showers and sewer drains for YEARS after seeing that movie. I attempted to read the novel sitting poolside in the middle of the day in California and had to put it down-- and I'm normally not scared by books!
The Ring got me, too. Some truly creepy images in that one. The Exorcist is another one-- when she comes downstairs and pees on the floor and when her head spins. :scared1:

Also, gore movies don't really scare me....Nightmare on Elm Street and so forth. Gory and startling, but truly scary...no. The ones that I find scarier are the ones that could happen.

The Jagged Edge was another scary one.
Fatal Attraction would have scared the bejesus out of me if I was a man.

You mean some creepy man isn't going to stick his tongue through the receiver and lick me? Bummer!

The Strangers.

The randomness scared the pee outta me.

The first one was really creepy. I forgot to list it. I must have buried it subconsciously to suppress the memories of it.

For all of those listing The Strangers as creepy, I would point you to Funny Games. Similar premise - Two men work their way into a families' home and bet them that they won't survive until morning. If they do, they will be allowed to live. It's all very random. I find it much creepier than The Strangers, and Naomi Watts is excellent in it.

We saw Insideous as well, it definitely was a good surprise. I jumped and screemed out loud...a little embarrasing but that just means it was good!

Also The Stranger and The Hills Have Eyes. I will never ever take a 'short cut' in the middle of nowhere, ever! Shudder... :scared1:

The Ring. I had to sleep with the light on in the hallway outside the bedroom for 2 weeks after I saw that! when she comes out of the well.... :scared1:

And I didn't see the whole movie, but DH was watching Shutter and I saw the end and got so creeped out!!!! poor Pacey

:lmao: I thought the same thing! Honestly the movie itself didn't really creep me out. It was the ending, that creeped me out! And you know he has neck problems throughout the whole movie!

We just watched the new Nightmare on Elm Street last night. Stuff like that just doesn't creep me out anymore. I'm more scared by ghost or demon possesion movies. Those are guaranteed to leave me with many restless nights!

I'm not a big fan of scary movies because . . . well, they scare the bejeezus out of me.

The other day I was channel surfing as usual [a dangerous occupation] and I came upon Jeepers Creepers. :scared1: I was so scared, yet unable to turn the channel, that I was literally breathing hard.

Signs with Joaquin Phoenix and Mel Gibson. Scariest. Movie. Ever.

Interesting thread since today I just watched the first trailer released for Daniel Radcliff in "The Woman in Black." The movie's not even out, but I read that short little novel a few years back, and as much as part of me would love to see it, that gothic story creeped me out more than almost any other ghost story I ever read. I'm not sure when it's even coming out, but if you like this sort of movie, it should be good.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Shutter Island....loved it, but was creeped out the entire time :thumbsup2

The Ring...one of my favorite movies of all time

I flat out refuse to see The Exorcist...You couldn't PAY me to watch that sucker! :rotfl:

Texas Chainsaw Massacre... I saw that when I was a teenager and not allowed to see horror movies. I think it did permanent emotional damage.

The Mothman Prophecies. I'm not really creeped out by blood and gore, I get more creeped out by psychological thrillers, especially when they are based on true stories. Because of Mothman, I never look directly out of my window when its dark outside.

Ugh. SAME HERE. I saw that movie 2 years ago and it still freaks me out to this day!

I'm an absolute wuss when it comes to scary or gory films so i obviously don't watch them.

BUT ever since my childhood the film 'Labyrinth' has always creeped me out! It's just a weird film to me, the goblins, the whole fantasy theme, just eurgh! :crazy2:
