Creature Report? Noooo 2 Pre Trip Reports!.7/21 FINAL COUNTDOWN

Sorry it took me FOREVER but here's the link! And just FYI on my case. Two weeks ago, I left my phone on top of my car (like an idiot!) and it fell off somewhere near my street. Someone tried to steal it (at least i'm assuming since it was found a few blocks away from where I live) and I found it using the Find my iPhone app on a very busy highway. It had definitely been ran over, the screen was cracked, BUT the case itself is in perfect condition! No scratches, no cracks, nothing! So it's worth it to pay the extra couple bucks for the Hard case

I was so excited about Pirates and Pals, but then I forgot to book it. I felt like a real ******* when I called to book it and it was sold out, so I tried HDDR. BINGO table for 4 at the 8pm show catagory 1. So now we will just head over on another type of boat from Contemporary at 7:00 to Ft Wilderness to go to HDDR. Everyone was so excited when I told them we LOVE HDDR especially DS.

I'm glad this worked out for you then! I haven't been but i'm sure you guys will have a blast!

I cancelled Chef Mickey's no one want to go this time. and I don't really love the food there. So we are just having a FULL pull day until MNSSHP! I am super excited about the party and want to make sure DS is rested and NAPS before we go over.

The party is waaaay more important, especially for the price you pay. Making sure everyone is in good moods is a MUST! Good decision in canceling.

But look at it. LONG PANTS. He will die. So H is thinking I can cut it off and add a new hem. Uhm I don't sew but H thinks that the iron on hem will hold it for one night. What do you guys think? Is that feasible? Possible? A really really bad idea?

What if you bought some really cheap red shorts and cut the seams up to look tattered and frayed? He'll be cooler and it will look more pirate like?

Sooo I am trying to talk him into Smee. Smee is easy and cute.

Smee would be way easier than Sharkey or Bones.

Anyways Story Land is adorable, and quaint with TONS of stuff to do, DS is a thrill ride junkie and loved that he could ride almost all the rides ( except for 1) at 40 inches. He did the log flume and the kiddie coaster like 7 times each. They also had tons of wet rides including a Kali River type ride and a water shooting ride. DS also loved the splash area with the yellow submarine kids could play in too.

How cute does this sound! On our trip last week, we took DS to a park similar to this...mainly for smaller kids and it was so much fun!

I agree with you on the MNSSHP day. We need a rest day and since DS is senor cranky pants sometimes I think we will do EVERYTHING in our power to make sure he is RESTED that day.

I think I saw the Peter Pan in the theater too. That little boy was SO CUTE, and I heard he isn't too shabby as an adult either. Thank God he didn't pull a reverse Neville Pottinger!

POPPIN' UP AT THE POLY!!

So ya know how when your sitting around and your friends family and coworkers are like " BLAH BLAH DISNEY'S TOO EXPENSIVE BLAHHH" and you are thinking in your head... yeah but tickets get cheaper each day you add on, and you can REALLY get some mileage out of an Annual Pass... AND you can get TONS of MILEAGE out of a DVC AP... HMMmmmmmm

Then you start looking at your vacation time and holidays and seeing how things line up... and THEN you just HAPPEN to check DVC member website and Ooops yeah MLK weekend at the Poly sounds pretty amazing. Hmmm what you can do 4 nights?? Wait POP is HOW CHEAP for one night?
( Now at this point I waited like 5 days to book and I was SURE that someone else would scoop it up, and it wasn't fate, and then JUST LIKE THAT, it was still available. Really? No one is booking studios at the Poly over MLK weekend?? When I called the CM said that she had "plenty" available? WOW! )

And then SOMEHOW it becomes financially just IRRESPONSIBLE to not GO. I mean it seems honestly REPREHENSIBLE that you NOT take advantage of this opportunity. Then you look at flights WHUT? You have enough points for one ticket... Uhm that makes things even MORE affordable.

H - Can't come. He starts a new job in July and can't take off two weeks of work that close together right away. He's super supportive of me going, and will enjoy the alone time and probably spend most of the long weekend at his parent's house getting spoiled.

Arrive - Thursday January 14th - Hoping to arrive at MCO by lunch time. Booking flights a little later on. Check in at Pop. I want to try to have lunch at Art of Animation food court. Wishes is nice and early this night, BUT we are going to be at the Poly the rest of the trip, soo... probably not the best use of our time, most likely going to hit up Fantasmic and have dinner at HS. We are planning on CS but I have never had too much luck with that in the studios ( aside from Starring Rolls that closes early) anyone have a good suggestion? Maybe I should just book an ADR for Sci Fi for dinner.

Friday January 15th- Check out of Pop and into POLY SV studio!! EEKKK!! DM and I are so flippin excited. We have talked about staying at Poly since I was a kid!!! Now we can finally do it!! I WAS thinking today is a good day to spend most of the day at MK BUT it is not recommended on EasyWDW soooo... Epcot day it is! I think this is a good idea since we can cover lots of ground easily in this park before it's time to check in at Poly. Plus we are eating mainly CS this trip and NOTHING beats CS at Epcot! Plan is to rest at Poly in the afternoon grab dinner at Captain Cook's and then head over to MK for some MSEP and Wishes!! Cannot be beat! I think we may save our FP plusses this day for MK and use them for Wishes.

Saturday January 16th- Today we are going to RD HS for all of the big rides & to meet P&F ( DS and I are obsessed.) I hope they are still there) and then head over to AK with FPs after lunch ( which will definitely be Starring Rolls this day. I would like to see at least 1 show and ride the Safari. I'm okay with skipping Everest this trip if DS is still too short.

Sunday January 17th- Easy WDW has today as Green for MK. It's a much higher crowd day than normal, so we are going to make use of RD and FP plus this day. Planning on lunch at The Plaza and revaluate our TP from there. we will probably take a midday break and head back over to ride during Wishes.

Monday January 18th LAST FULL DAY! WAAAHHH!!! It's also MLK day. Now I have heard the parks get CRAZY on this day. I am actually thinking of skipping the parks today. We might relax, have breakfast at Ohana's and maybe make our way over to the Boardwalk for some mini golf. Or maybe DtD? Maybe AMC Dine In ? If we do brave the parks it will likely be for Illumination that night. Or maybe we will just head over to MK and play that Pirate game and try to get DS into SOMK? whatever we do it will be a chill day.

Tuesday January 19th I have to go back to work on Weds so I am going to TRY to fly out on the earlier side so I can get a full night sleep at home in my bed. However a pre RD breakfast is a MUST on departure day I was thinking since we are doing mostly CS on this trip that I will try to book BOG IF we like it on the September trip. Then a few last minute rides before we he back to the Poly for the saddest bus ride of them all.

Now I don't know about this plan. It feels a little lite on the MK? IDK? Is it too hoppy? Since we are upgrading our tickets to APs we will get DH a hopper on the September trip so we may hop then too. It's just such an unexpected surprise bonus trip that I am kinda of flabbergasted at planning it. I just feel so lucky that this worked out for us.

Thanks! I really feel so lucky that this trip just happened to work out so well for us! I was there in early January 2010, it was freezing (. & I am from MA) but it was a really fun " prekids" type trip. I have heard that MLK can be super duper busy, so I am going to treat our plans as " bonus" plans & just go with the flow if things don't work out. I really hope P&F are still there though. Oh well we will see! Thanks for crossing your fingers for us.

Packing..... Packing... Packing....

Packing for a split trip is HARD Yo.

I started a few months ago. Any time I saw something we NEEDED for Disney I would just grab it. Then I started a list of what I have versus what I need.

It was all living in a giant Mickey Mouse bag in my spare room. Now this just counts what I have that is ready to be PACKED. I have other things, like 45 million pairs of underpants for DS ( potty training is a looooonnngggg process over here) and extra swimsuits, my clothes, first aid kits, epi pens.... BUT most of that stuff gets used all summer and won't get retired OR packed until the week before the trip. This past week I had a few days off from work and DH got a NEW TRUCK, that I had to wait around the house for the delivery of... So I started PACKING plastic bags.

My method is to pack full outfits in gallon sized plastic bags for DS. I included an extra pair of undies and a pull up in each one. I am labeling each one with " AKV" " T" or " BLT" AKV bags will go into the AKL ONLY suitcase. T bags will go into the AKV suitcase and then be moved into the transitional back pack ( this will be things we need during the day when our bags are travelng between AKL and BLT AND things we need for HDDR that night. It will include an extra outfit and undies and a pullup for DS, and extra bathing suit, and his " nice outfit" for HDDR that night. It will also include an extra bathing suit and cover up for me, and makeup and my " nice outfit " for HDDR that night) H and DM are going to have to give me their " T bags" for me. I also made a " spare bag " with an extra outfit, undies and pullup for DS, a clean shirt for me and DS' spare epi pen. This will just live in the park bag in the stroller. It is also marked T. Also DS has a lovey ( Baby LJ a sad sad irreplaceable, much loved lamb) and special blankie he needs to sleep. I am DEFINITELY putting these guys in both the transition and AKV bags. I CANNOT IMAGINE what would happen if we lost one of those, but my best guess would be something like this.

Sleep props are important yo....


So far I have bags with " AKV outfit 1" AKV outfit 2" " AKV Bathing suit 1" and " T outfit 1 " " T HDDR". I need to make a bag for " T bathing suits"
I can park more bags when I get DS more shorts. Right now he is wearing his shorts all day everyday. And probably will right up until the trip. I am planning on buying some new shorts as soon as the summer sales start that I can pack for him.

All transitional and AKV bags are going to go into the AKV ONLY carry on. It is my smallest suitcase and I am planning to get some leopard print duct tape to make a big X on it. That way there we have everything we need for AKVs BEFORE and transition day BEFORE our ME comes. Then I can just move the " T" items into the backpack and move the cosmetic items into the BLT bags when our ME items come. The larger checked bags will be the BLT bags. I need to find a duct tape to mark them with.

As you can tell I am NERVOUS about the split stay and having everything I need for DS over both days, and having it WHEN we need it. I am even willing to pack duplicate items ( like duplicate my makeup bag with cheaper makeup so I always have some ect). I feel like one SMALL hitch ( like ME taking forever or the bags getting mixed up at Bell Services ) could cause a BIG problem.

Now for DH... well.. he likes to pack like 0 minutes before the trip, and then be like " whatever" about it. NOT COOL DH. He also takes more than one RX and needs lots of " stuff " everyday. I am trying to convince him to start thinking about this now, and buy an extra bathing suit and some extra shorts and an extra thing of breath right nose strips ( bc otherwise I might kill him ). Uggh.

He keeps saying he is packing 2 pairs of shorts, 1 bathing suit 5 pairs of underpants and 6 Tshirts and making liberal use of the W&D in the room. Do you H. Do you.

Thanks for saying I am organized. I feel TOTALLY overwhelmed. I know I know there is just SO much that could go wrong EEKKK! Yes. My H is so annoying with this stuff. I am like WE HAVE A SPLIT STAY AND ARE RELYING ON DISNEY HEAVILY!!!SO PACK DUPLICATES and LABEL cause I WANNA MAKE RD.

I did end up ordering extra shorts and undies for DS from Old Navy's July 4th Sale. I got him an extra package ( so 5 pair) of undies and an extra 6 pairs of shorts ( they were 8.00 each!!!) I can't wait for them to get here so I can start making more BAGS. LOL I am obsessed with my ziplock bags! I usually use so many each trip and then wash them out at home and have bags forever. Comes in handy takind DS to the beach and pool and things.

Anyways I was just looking at my FP plus days & my ADR day and MY FP plus day for TRIP 1 and my ADR day for Trip 2 are like 4 days apart!! Arrgh a week with NO SLEEP. I am going to be a crazy person trying to FP plus Ohana and not understanding why it won't let me!!! At least I am not trying for any crazy ADRs for my January trip so I can make them in the morning I think ( do Ohana breakfast usually go fast? )

I also started really looking into airfare for our January trip. Has anyone actually used the Hacker Fares on Kayak. I usually fly SW, but even with the extra points it might be cheaper to use a Hacker Fare. DH will drive us to and from the airport and doesn't mind doing d/o at one and p/u at another as long as they are reasonably close.

See Baby LJ is like Tiny, like the size of a soda can. he is also irreplaceable. I have never seen another one, and he is in ROUGH condition, so if I COULD replace him I would have to like put him in the dishwasher and run the car over him like 15 times before he looked like the real baby LJ. Also he is gray ( used to be white) so he BLENDS IN TO EVERYTHING including sheets, blankets, rugs, etc. He is just a disaster waiting to happen. One time I lost him for 5 DAYS and DS cried at bed every day. We told him he went to the " spa" because he was dirty. I was CONVINCED he was gone forever. Turns out he was on the floor in the dining room. Right in front of all of our noses. that is how easy he is to lose. The rule is that he doesn't leave the house except for overnights.

You are super brave. Is it really easier? It is scaring me. As you know being the planner is hard. Stuff goes wrong and they are all looking at YOU. I am sure it will be fine though. I am trying to be less tightly wound.

So I had a total Disney Planning MELT DOWN this morning/ last night. I booked HDDR Cat 1 8:30 show riiiiiggghhhhtt?? And we are using DDP credits for it. Except I am not adding the dining plan until August ( gots to watch my cash flow) so last night as I am shutting off my brain to sleep the thought creeps up " OMG OMG the DDP doesn't cover Cat 1" I was freaking out. This morning I told DM I made a mistake

She was like... so we pay for it OOP. Calm YOURSELF. But then this morning I found this

Disney Dining Plan: The Dining Plan can be used for the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue for Categories 2 and 3 seating. TWO table service credits will be deducted for these shows. The Dining Plan can also be used for Category 1 seating at the 8:30 p.m. show, using two table service meal entitlements.

BINGO - Back in BUSINESS

EXCEPT on the way to work I started thinking..... OMG Annual Pass holders can only get a LIMITED amount of FP plus PER YEAR. And we are upgrading. OMGG!

Obviously I got to work hopped onto @mesaboy2 's thread and realized that is NEVER mentioned. NOW am I making this up? I think so... pretty sure I can get FP plus for 7 days out from my trip at the 60 day mark for the Poly trip ( which will happen after the upgrade) RIGHT?

62 DAYS!!! 62 DAYYSS until the September trip! GAHHHH! SO. MUCH. TO. DO.

First of all. DS is all packed in term of outfits. He still needs a few more Mickey or Disney themed bathing suits and some extra PJs. I am KINDA packed, I am looking to buy some more moisture wicking shorts so I still have some shopping to do,l

H might go naked at this point I don't care.

So FP plus is the most exciting thing coming up! This is my list for what I want and when. I added HS to the day after our MNSSHP day. I really want DS to get to go on Star Tours and Tower of Terror so I figure if we can be there by 11am that morning we will be golden. Recently we did a " test" fireworks on a local July 4th display. DS took a two hour nap that afternoon and then was GREAT at the fireworks, and we didn't get him in bed until 11:00. The next day he was up by 9am and ready to go. So I think this isn't pushing him too much, but if it is, we will scale back that day for sure. H and I are planning a date night at Epcot that night, DM and DS might join us for dinner and then go back to the pool for the night, while H and I watch Illuminations and stroll around the world. At first I felt a little guilty about this but since DM and I are going AGAIN January, it is no big deal to her if she misses Illuminations this time.

These are my IDEAL times for FP plusses for my week. I will be on MDE at 12am sharp on the 15th ( which is ALSO prime day WHICH IS ALSO our 9 year anniversary!!) to make FP plusses.

The craziest news though? Is on the 19th. Just 4 days later I need to be up at midnight AGAIN for my ADRS for the January trip. I mean DISNEY I NEED TO SLEEP PEOPLE!!

In other news I bought the CUTEST nailpolish on etsy the other day. It is called "Disneyworld or Bust " from the seller SweetHeartPolish. It's a clear base top coat with floating silver Mickey's and glitters in it.I can't wait to try it out over a dark mattee grey for the trip!
