All albums will be true 12X12 albums. I heard it from my former consultant yesterday at our local scrapbooking store. I don't know how I feel. I think they are going to a top-loading album. For years, CM has said that those don't protect photos. Now they say they are okay? :confused3 I'm disappointed. I love their style and will need to go ahead and buy up some of the albums before they are gone.

no they are going to true 12x12 and supposedly they are going to have side loading albums. Like what they have now, except the page protectors will be attached to the album, like the top loading albums are now.

At least that is what I've heard.

I've held back from commenting before as I don't have all the information but will get it this weekend, but I do know the albums will not be top loading.

CM introduced a side loading album last year with the Picfolio Max.

I got the news they'll be changing over but I've not seen pcs of the new pages. About time (and I speak as a CMC!). Although how will we do serendipity squares without all our little strips of paper we cut off?:lmao:

ETA they have said changeover will be a year. Existing pages can be placed in new coversets, but not the other way round.

Finally! I love the quality of their albums, but the fact that they were not true 12x12 kept me from buying them. I have a few, but I grew tired of trimming down paper to fit in on the pages. I will definitely buy more now!

As for CM saying that top-loading doesn't protect photos, well that's another thing that turned me off. CM's philosophy is that if isn't CM, it isn't safe. I had a party once and we were cropping afterwards so my friends and I had other non-CM supplies with us. The entire time the consultant went on and on about how unsafe all my other scrapbooking supplies were. She also told us that if we used non-CM supplies (such as brads and other embellishments) that it voided the warranty on the albums. It really soured me on the company. I still love a lot of their products though, particularly the punches and cutting system. If I could find a consultant that wasn't so anti-non CM, I would probably buy more!

My CMC was telling me that the pages and page protectors are going to be the same in the new albums. I was hoping she was wrong because I hate having to buy them separately.

Steph - I so know what you mean about the CM Nazi consultants. I had one who asked me to stop attending her crops because I use the albums and tools but no CM paper or embellies. My new CMC doesn't care what I use as long as I am happy with the pages. She knows where her bread and butter lies because I still spend a fortune on the hardware!

When I was a CMC, I certainly wasn't a Nazi about it. I always felt that if it was in a CM album, it was safe. I have a top-loading album for my wedding album (non CM, ofcourse) and it does tend to get dust on the pages. I am glad they are going to a true 12X12. I have a picfolio album. Will the albums still have the reinforced edges? I like having that space between pages for dimension in my albums.

The new 12 x 12 albums on the site are pretty! I like the colors!! Hmmm. . wonder if there are pastel blue or pastel pink albums in the works in the new 12 x 12 size?? :)

Hi All -- The new albums will be "true" 12 x 12 size but will still have the same page and page protectors (just a tad bigger to fit the "true" size). CM is working on perfecting a true 12 x 12 portrait page that people who like "top loading" pages can use rather than the traditional pages if they wish. The portrait pages will also be great for 12 x12 digital prints..... So kind of combining traditional scrapbooking with digital options....

Wow ... I could have written this myself. I love a lot of their products, but I don't use CM exclusively. Size of materials and the overall attitude were stumbling blocks for me. I have been extremely lucky to find a CM consultant who completely understands that the options for paper and embellishments is so wide. She even uses non CM stuff in her own work. However, our group of scrapbookers will sometime attend other CM day events where we sure get a lot of flak about using other items.

I have a question about the change over ... my rep said they are moving to the "truer" 12x12. She also said they are going from the 7x7 to 8x8. Supposedly, there will be some new Disney stuff.

There is another releated thread on this topic here and I posted there. What I'm wondering... CM has a current 12x12 (that isn't REALLY 12x12) Disney album AND 7x7 albums. I haven't been able to access the website. Is there any news on what they are doing about those Disney albums in the change over?

had that same experience... and it was a long time ago too and I've never dealt with them again. hence my "dark side scrapper" tag. The cmc was just horrible, yelling at us that our pictures would be destroyed if we used anything else, etc, etc. (and of course, being me, that really set me off... I think I asked her when I could expect my scrapbook to explode due to the high acid levels :) needless to say, she doesn't speak to me anymore. :) and I don't use there products. :) maggie

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: About the scrapbook exploding.

I'm a really naughty CMC  I'm always rtying to get my customers to try new things, take part in swaps etc. I practically throw stuff at them to get them to try new things:lmao: (I only Cm to get my stuff at a discount ;) ) They're not into online shopping so they don't really try anything new

oh I would be so thrilled if they went to a top loading system I love their albums but hated the pages!
Always cracks me up about dust getting into my books that are top loading...I must be a darn good house keeper! NOT! but I have never had dust in my books....dog hairs....well of course....but they are everywhere!
I am looking forward to seeing what they come out with!

I have some of the hardware and really like it but the CMC I used has since quit. So I would have to go find another.

My DD just started as a CMC in October. She is definitely not a CM Nazi! She uses plenty of other stuff too because she had that stuff first!

I am a CM consultant and I use other things in my album too. I just bought some Stickle today and can't wait to try it. As for the TRUE 12x12 albums, I am excited.:cheer2: Now I won't have to cut down my non CM paper to fit my albums. As for the new Disney stuff, I can't wait to check that out. I will probably have to have it all.:yay: I also have paper and tools from Disney World too. I do believe in preserving my pictures, but I am can't say if the non CM paper will protect the pictures or not. I just go by what the company says. So, I am not a Nazi about it either. I just love to scrapbook!:goodvibes

No official word on the new albums yet, but I've been asking the powers higher than me. Speculation is that they will be released in the spring/summer - May/June. That will be 2 years since the latest version of Disney products were released.

They are supposedly re-doing the line - NEW traditional, picfolio and digital Disney stuff. I specifically asked if this was the case and not just making the old design 12True and 8x8. So far the consensus is yes, fresh NEW lines. YEAH!

OMG, that is hysterical!!! Thanks for the laugh!

I really like CM products (used to be a CMC) and I am really excited that they are going to a true 12x12. I do need some 7x7 page protectors, probably should get those soon...
