This isn't quite in the parameters you outlined, well it isn't at all in the parameters you outlined, but you mentioned building a new house and I know this is something I'd love to mark an anniversary at a new home. What about selecting a special live tree to be planted in your new landscape? If that's something that would appeal to her at all it would be a lovely way to mark your way to your golden.

How about a silver name plate, or silver house numbers, or a silver door knocker for the front door? That'd kinda "put a bow on the house".

The tree idea above is lovely, and the right answer is clearly a Silver Maple!

Love the knocker idea, but I TRULY love the house number idea... plus it would match our house colar.

The con to planting a tree idea is it can't be moved, so unless the OP is planning on this being their forever home, I wouldn't go with something you can't take with you.

You are taking this much too seriously. It would not be our permanent home, which is why I pointed out a potential issue with planting a tree...as did @ronandannette, but I don't see you grilling her about her opinion.

We have custom made house numbers on our current home, and they'll be coming with us when we move and the cheapo ones will be put back on. Anything else you'd like to know?

Would LOVE custom house numbers. Great idea!!! But I’ve searched a and they are hard to find.
