Crazy stories at disney world

Some of these stories are outrageous! My blood boils reading about the teenagers yelling out obscenities. That self-centered attitude just sets me aflame. My mama would have slapped my mouth right off my face!

I'm not sure this applies, but it made me laugh, so I will share.

A couple of days ago we were riding back to the beach club from DS on the friendship boats, and a bunch of guys in fraternity shirts get on behind us. Well, the CM first mate starts us olaying "name that disney tune," with Port side vs. Starboard. Well, the guys were on both sides of the boat and were reaaly getting into it... then a song comes on, and not 2 bars into it one of the guys yells at the top of his voice "LITTLE MERMAID!" - His buddies just looked at him like hehad two heads, and the rest of the boat bursts out laughing. And unlike some of the other stories of ill-behaved folks, these guys were very nice and polite.

It must have been in August... we bumped into the filming while at DHS in front of TGMR

It was in August, though I forget which day. We were there the first week and then spilled over into the 2nd week (like the 3rd through the 12th or something like that)

This isn't exactly crazy, but it sure was memorable.....one night at MK during extra magic hours, we were riding Splash Mountain for the 3rd time and this time we shared the boat with about 5 or 6 boys who were probably about 13 or 14 years old.

They were having a great time and towards the end, after the big drop and the music starts playing "Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah"....well they started singing and clapping along...those were the happiest teen boys I've ever seen. Of course, it was contagious so we started singing with them. It was so great, everyone was SO happy and bit by the Disney magic bug! It was like we were right there IN the cartoon with the characters.

Like I said, not crazy....but I'll never forget that!

my crazy story is a cast member story (so my apologies to all the kind and wonderful cast members here)

My aunt is blind and we have taken her to Disney several times over the years. She loves it and travels well along with her various guide dogs/seeing eye dogs. One fall we were there during a pretty bad heat wave in October. The pavement is TORTURE on the dogs feet and we did everything we could to keep her in the shade.

(I should mention this is right around the time they invented fastpass and stopped allowing people to go directly to the exit to load those guests with handicaps.) We were not aware of this and to be honest I think that guests with handicaps should not have to wait in the regular line if they have letters from doctors, etc.

Well we go to the park and off we went on Jungle Cruise, Pirates and Tiki Room with no issues and no waits. We didn't have to go thru the exits because we were either ushered on immediately or brought directly to the handicap entrance due to the dog.

We walked off to Splash Mountain and went to the exit so we could "dog swap" and go on the ride. Obviously her dog could not go on this particular ride, although he could on many of them. The young lady at the exit said "oh you will have to get a fastpass and go through the regular line." I explained to her that due to the heat it was virtually animal abuse to stand in the sun (it was a very busy weekend day and the line was out of the building) and that we always went to the exit in the past. She said "too bad ma'am, those are the rules." I told her again politely (I was in shock at her rudeness) that some "rules" are made to bend a little especially when the health of a guide animal is at risk. She said "How do I even know she is REALLY blind? Can she prove it?"

At this point she opened the gate for a woman in a wheelchair....so obviously she WAS allowing people to bypass the regular or fastpass line. I asked her "why did you allow her in but not us?" She said "She is in a WHEELCHAIR" and rolled her eyes at me. I said "Wait a second, you want my Aunt to PROVE she is blind...well march yourself over there and tell that woman to get up and WALK!" I then asked for a ride manager IMMEDIATELY. Meanwhile the girl/castmember went on and on about how we could have just decided to put a harness on our "pet" and bring him to Disney. I have NEVER seen someone so uneducated, rude, petty or nasty and ESPECIALLY in Disney!

When the ride manager came she was very apologetic and said "We have had some issues with this castmember recently." I told the ride manager that I wanted an apology AND I wanted her to be removed from working directly with the public. The ride manager point blank said "This young lady will no longer be working with Disney, we will not accept this kind of behavior from our castmembers."

We didn't let it ruin our trip but it was very disheartening. We have never run into that issue since. We use fast passes or regular entrance on all rides that require them expect in the rare instances where the pavement is too hot for the dog. We have been graciously welcomed onto rides or "dog swap" and in several instances they have actually had a ride manager come and wait with her guide dog so we could all go on together! NOW that is Magic!!
My jaw just dropped! I am so sorry that you had to deal with someone who was so rude!!!!

My crazy story is about someones wardrobe. Last April while at MK I was walking behind a rather "Pooh sized" young girl. Not sure of her age, but she was a teenager. She was wearing a very midriff black tankop with a VERY thin, and VERY short white cotton miniskirt that you could see right through to her "crevasse". This is not the worst of it. She was wearing a hot pink thong that was purposely hiked up out of the top of her skirt. The reason I know it was on purpose was because she had her room key and a small wallet clipped to it.:scared: This was by far the most disgusting thing I have ever seen at Disney!!!!!!:scared1:

I have a few...but a feel good one is when we had my dd then maybe 4 yrs old in Epcot. We were in world showcase strolling along when we came across a rotund man with a long white beard with a red shirt and suspenders, well, Becky just kind of froze in place for what seemed like an eternity. The man smiled down at her, handed her a card without a word and strolled away. The card said "you hav just met the real Santa Claus". So, I said, "well, I guess Santa liks to vacation in Disney World too!"

We ran into the same guy! He was so authentic that when my DS asked, i had to say yes. We followed him around world showcase, and he never went out of character. I hope that he was a cast member, or, could it have really been him?!

Not crazy but fun: We were at DHS for PM EMH one day last year. Got on Star Tours with a couple dads and the kids they were chaperoning (about 8 kids ages 8-12 yo). It was the last half hour of the park's opening and no one was in line behind us. So after we rode once, the CM asked us whether we wanted to just stay on and do it again. Everyone in the car voted a resounding yes.

By the third time, the kids didn't wait for the CM to even open the door before they started chanting "ONE MORE TIME!"

Everyone overreacted to all the ride's movie effects, cracking up and stuff. All told I think we stayed on that car for 7 consecutive rides. The last one was even after the official park closing. The CM said he could hear us all the way outside. I think that's why he indulged us so much. We were having too much fun.

In front of Splash Mtn, is a viewing area. Well, DSis once noticed a guy sitting there with what can only be desribed as rather loose nylon shorts that were on teh short side. He had one knee down, and one knee up - so his legs were rather spread. He didn't seem to notice, but well, parts that should never be exposed in public were peeking out and actually resting on the backtop! She was the only one who saw. We held true to her suggestion and did not look.

And that's just one crazy wardrobe story...

A second favorite was alittle girl who wanted a balloon on Main St. One of those big beautiful silvery Tinkerbell jobs with the wings and all. Mom was trying to encourage her to spend more wisely, but it came out as, "Honey, you COULD get that balloon, but you could ALSO save your money and get something later at WALMART!" Clearly, mom was just missing a bit of the WDW magic...in retrospect, I shoud've just stopped and bought the ballon myself and made the girl's day. I think we were in a rush to get somewhere - maybe for an ADR.

As we were entering Epcot, walking toward Spaceship Earth, I saw a young man who was walking out, lean over the entrance fountain, VOMIT INTO IT...and then keep walking out. I have never been able to look at that fountain the same since.

I saw a bum outside the Haunted Mansion..it was kind of creepy and odd..

We had just arrived at WL and my DD5 and DS6 are in awe of the lobby and strolling by us are 2 transvestites in 4 in platform shoes---both had to be at least 6'6" with these shoes on and my DS looks up at me and says "Man, she's tall!"---:rotfl:---the age of innocence!!!!!

ewww....nasty!

Okay, heres a combo strange guest/great CM story.

We were going on IASW and the line stopped moving just before we were about to board. At first we didn't notice anything but then we noticed that several CMs were looking into the water right in the boat boarding area and trying to get something out of the water. There was an anxious woman in her sixties nearby on the side where you exit the boat. They had a long reacher, and boy, they did not give up. The mystery item in the water obviously caught a current and moved a few feet at one time. By this time everyone was realizing what was going on and were watching. After 20 minutes, he pulls out a small object and hands it to the woman who thanks him profusely. Everyone in line applauded. This was an awesome CM who did not give up to help this woman.

What was the mystery object? Her wedding ring! How, may I ask, do you lose your wedding ring off a boat in IASW??? Do people feel the need to take them off during a ride?

Crazy guest, great CM.

It probably fell off sometime rings are loose and they just slipp off. I think this is more likely than the loady having taken it of and dropping it.

On the flip side of the nasty teens, there are some good ones. We were at DHS and we were headed out for the day. 2 boys, late teens, were in front of us and chatting it up with the boys. Offered the boys some candy, which I politely declined (don't take food from strangers). So we got to talking with these young men and they were trying to figure out how to get to MK for evening EMH. We were headed to the Dolphin and I told DH that they would never find their way from the docks to the buses so we took them under our wings and brought them to the bus.
Now it doesn't seem like a very grand story but the boys looked the part of hoodlums. Ones you would expect to have foul mouths and bad attitudes. They were the most polite teenage boys I have ever seen at WDW. We talked at length to DS13 about how we would expect a family to have the same conversation about our DS when it comes time for him to wander around the World without us.
We are talking him on a solo trip in May and he doesn't know this but we are bringing a friend so they can wander around together too. I hope and pray he is as well behaved as these boys were.

Not crazy, but pretty funny... First day at Disney we went to Epcot. We stood in line for 30mins in the rain prior to rope drop. Now I follow UG so I have to run to Soarin' and get a fast pass then run back across the park to Mission Space. On our way from Soarin to Mission Space, I see a young girl, probably 9 or 10 crying to her Dad. I hear Dad say, "I know honey, but Mom is FREAKING out so just play along!" I immediatley start cracking up b/c I just know this conversation is being repeated behind me between my DH and DS8. Poor kids. They just stood in line, to stand in line, to not ride a ride, to run back across the park.

:goodvibes Just want to hear the stories, I don't have any weird ones, I think that means I am not going to Disney enough:lmao:

This isn't really strange, but funny. Last year, when exiting POTC, we came upon two cast members posing as statues of a male and female pirate. They were sitting just inside the door that exits from the attraction into the gift shop. Our son, who was three at the time, kept staring at them. I asked him why he was staring. He said "Those statues must have the Disney magic because they are breathing." :goodvibes

And this is one that just made me feel good...during that same trip, we were getting on Toy Story Mania. As the cast member reached in to make sure I was securely in my seat, he said to me "Have a good ride, princess." I can't tell you how good that made me feel. Thinking about it still makes me smile. When in your adult life does anyone call you "Princess?" Oh boy...I can't wait to get back there this year. Hurry up and get here, September.
