We are exactly like that too! As far as I am concerned there are 2 seasons-flip flops season and boots season. I put away my flip flops and shorts when the snow comes.
That would be me! I grew up in the mountains and I used to get teased in school because I would wear shorts, a t-shirt, and snow boots when it was 40F out
They were wearing t shirts. I'm a native New Yorker, I was chilly to begin with - wearing long pants and a thin jacket. Seeing them just sent shivers down my spine.
You Canadians are nuts!
Wearing shorts when everyone else is bundled up is what got us to be Grand Marshalls in the parade. You can tell the Northerners from the Southerners when the temp drops.
Mmmmm, don't know what that means???
Here in GA most people wear shorts/flipflops til way into December.
I was in downtown Atlanta yesterday (around 40 degrees) and lots of people were walking around with shorts, tshirts and flipflops on.
Most of the people I see around here bundled up are from the north, lol.
Trust me the only reason I had on long pants and regular shoes was because I was visiting my son in the hospital and it is always freezing in there.
I could only manage that at the end of winter, when I've gotten used to zero degrees for four months. But after the Halloween blizzard, we're all excited to get back into the mid-50s this afternoon. My DDs will throw off their jackets and beg for ice cream, and my DS will be outside in shorts.
You should have seen the Bahamas a few years ago when it was 55 degrees and sunny. Tourists from the northern U.S. and Canada swimming in the ocean while natives wore parkas and gloves.

I fail to see anything wrong with the scenario, ha! 50's is beautiful weather.....not blazing hot, not freezing cold. Perfect weather.
Although you wouldn't find me having the Dole Whip. Ick. Pineapple plastic, IMO.
Give me some cinnamon roasted almonds and I am good to go!
My kids were in shorts/t's yesterday....45 or so here. When they went outside to play, I asked them to take a hoodie with. And, they did. And promptly took them off and left them on the neighbors steps.
Ha.. my sister and I went in December last year and the first night there, it was about 55 degrees. People were walking around in parkas and wrapped in blankets. Someone finally asked us why my sister and I weren't doing the same. I told them it was 19 degrees back home and they looked at me in disbelief.
50-60 degrees is iced coffee and shorts weather where I live, lol.
I don the shorts if it gets above 15 degrees C (From the UK, where it's usually jeans and sweatshirt weather 80% of the time), so I'm in the shorts and dole whip camp!
