Cranberry or Pineapple??

I am loving all these ideas! I will be using them for my next cruise (Dec 2006!) AS far as my trip report- I am working on it! :) I just have to tell you that I loved the Spa and the restaurants and the cast members. You can tell that they are trained better than WDW CM's- like the way WDW CM's used to be. Well here's what I'll cover:

A little WDW background
Day 1- at sea, the room, how I organized, the staff, drinks, etc. Parrot Cay, spa= mani, pedi, Hercules
Day2- a LOT of Spa stuff-couples massage, rainforest room, rasul bath, Triton's, Pirate night
Day 3- Castaway Cay, snorkeling, adult beach, shopping, Palo, and all the New Years' festivities.
Day 4- Castaway Cay, and all the same stuff, plus a little more, like Inoithermie, Animator's Palate
Day 5- the debarkation and some more

I'll tell you a little about my first 3 days in WDW first

I flew out through Newark, got to Orlando around 10:45 and went through Magical Express. Due to an error (in my favor actually) we were sent to the Cruise desk instead of Magical Express to get to the Land portion. THe cruise people checked us in and escorted us to the head of the line. Their mistake saved us like 30 minutes! We flew over to the Poly. We checked in - got "leied" and went to lunch at Kona. Amazing, amazing food. When my pics are up, I'm going to post on the food thread and I'll show you it all. We went to DTD to Disney Quest, had a great time. I loved Pirates Battle for Bucanneer Gold. We were on a team with an Asian family with a very empassioned little girl which made it so much fun! We went back to teh room which was ready by now and we saw it! Wow! The view was incredible! We could see the Great Ceremonial House,Grand Flo, Wedding Pavilion! :goodvibes and even the Castle! Awesome. We got ready for dinner at Spoodles at 8 ( one of the best meals) and spend the night drinking and singing at Jellyrolls!

The next day was a Magic Kingdom day. We had breakfast at Crystal Palace, flew to the rides. We got on everything in like 5-10 minutes each time. We did get a FP for Space Mountain, which came back to haunt us cause it was 101 when we went over there but they did honor our FP's when it was working again. We saw the Christmas Bear Jamboree, which made my day! We spent some time visiting Grand Flo to get pics of the gingerbread house (My bro is a pastry chef and makes gingerbread houses) We had dinner at 'Ohana (no longer our favorite, which it once was. Pina coladas are still awesome though) and we went back to see the parade and Wishes, which was FABULOUS! We had such a great view and my bf was hugging me the whole time and we were being really romantic so watching Wishes was one of my best memories. We even bought the soundtrack!

The next day, somehow we got up early for Animal Kingdom. We finished all the rides we wanted to by 11. It's Tough to be Bug, Safari, Dinosaur, Triceratopspin, etc. We decided to go on Kali. Everyone bought ponchos for like 6 bucks. I said I'm not spending 12 bucks! What an idiot I am! A six grand vacation, but I didnt spend 12 bucks on ponchos! Anyway, I board the ride and of course a HUGE wave comes overboard and soaks me, 100 %, not one dry inch. I was cold and wet. Really cold and wet. And since NO ONE was going on this ride, the other families were allowed to just keep going on time after time, so when the ride ended no one got up to let me out. So I had to *politely* demand that someone get off because I was NOT riding again. Lol.
We hopped over to the Studios. My bf forgot something, we had to straighten out some cruise business (I;ll say more on this later, but basically the lady at the Front desk have mixed up the days they were closed and the days they were open to me, so I didn't get my docs on the day I *should* have, and I was misinformed a lot by her) and I was being really tired and crabby so we ended up going back to rest (A great idea) and cuddle and learn to like each other again, lol, before going back for dinner at Sci Fi (awesome Adult shakes!) and EMH until like 1 am. We did a lot during EMH, Tower, Coaster, etc. but I *loved* the Animation tour and the learn to draw a character class. I drew a Donald I am sooo proud of I have it on my fridge, lol.

The next day we got up early, went down to the Cruise desk to straighten things out again, (this was a horrible experience, as we couldn't do what the Front Desk Ditz had said, AND the Cruise Desk Lady collected some documents, but not all, andhad discussed what should and would happen in detail for 20 mins, then said to meet the bus outside. We waited outside about 1 hr before it was to come and finally 5 minutes before she comes parading out with other cruisers and when we stop her and ask her what's up, she asks me "You're going on the Cruise?" I almost died as we had spoken to her TWICE that day, in detail, but anyway it all worked out) and had breakfast at Kona (Tonga Toast) and shopped and walked around the Poly. We walked in the sand, sat in the swings, got a little sun, it was a nice way to wait for the Cruise Motor Coach to arrive, which it finally did! We got on, and rode along to get to the Wonder- and the best part of our story- THE CRUISE!

Hi Selena. :flower: I love your ideas from OTC.

Lulu I want more. I am loving your trip report. :goodvibes

Selena - my high school graduation present from my parents was 10 days at WDW. It was the first time we had ever been to WDW!!!!!! The best present ever.

LuLu - Wow, sounds like a great trip so far with some minor complications. I had my mom buy me the Wishes CD and I have never even seen Wishes yet. I am hoping to see it in September!!! Your trip report is great, it makes me want to hear more!!! I can't wait until you post again!!!!!

Karen - 1 day closer!!!!

Today is going to be a long day for me. I have to go to work until 3:30 and then drive straight to my friends house, which will take about 30 minutes, to watch her son. He is sick and her mom doesn't want to do it because it is too far of a drive (which she is about a 30 minute drive away too.) My friend and her husband have taken Friday and Monday to be with him but their work wasn't too understanding to take any more time off, so her cousin will watch him in the AM and I will watch him in the PM until she gets off of work at 7:00.

Hi Everyone!!!
Heidi ~ drive carefully!
Lulu ~ love the reports!!!
Sandy ~ nice to hear from you even if it is only a moment to pop in and say hello!
Selena ~ I am all excited for you and your cruise (can so relate!!) Your goodies sound fun. I sent my sister a flip flop car deoderizer that I found at Walgreens!! I thought it would get her in the cruise mood! Hahaha :rotfl2: Hope she did not take it personal!!!
Jrsy ~ are you hanging in there?
I am going to go get some chocolate and some boxes as my Mickey candy molds arrived yesterday!!! I will PROBABLY be forced by my granddaughter to buy some more Mickey Stickers!!! (Twist my arm why don't ya!!!)

Lurking, lurking, lurking (just like when I'm in Heidi's bushes) and recovering from the Giants abysmal performance on Sunday. Plus, I've had that stupid song from Madagascar stuck in my head since Saturday...

Jrsy... Heres a great quote from Madagascar that you can use when lurking at Heidi's "You didn't see anything........!!!!!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Did you guys ever meet up after Christmas or just too busy... sounds like everyone has been way busy?!

I haven't seen you around in a while so I thought that you gave up!!!! So are you going to watch the Broncos play the Pats? That should be a good game.

Karen - you can alsways package up some chocolate mickey's and send them my way!! ;)

Haven't even attempted to set it up yet, but it is still on the table.

Yeah, though I'll probably watch that one at home rather than through your window. Its nice to still have someone to cheer for...

Hello, hello, hello. Remember me??

Chocolate, did someone say chocolate? :teeth:

:confused3 Is it just me or has anyone else not seen Madagascar? I'm feeling very undisney like!!

Karen, did you actually find small bottles or cans of cranberry juice? What itinerary are you on? Can I come? JrsyBoy refused to take me on his. WHERE did you find the Disney Mickey molds?? I want to start making cream cheese mints and that would be cool for mints as well. Speaking of those mints, WHERE do I find the oil for flavorings NOT the extracts??

Lulu, we love Spoodles. We are crazy people and ride WITHOUT ponchos. We are ALWAYS freezing by noon because of it and have to go back to the room. Isn't the gingerbread house at GF unbelievable? I can't believe your DB makes them. How cool is that? WISHES has become my favorite. We own the soundtrack as well. Can't wait for Heidi to see it. Jiminy is in it and of course :teeth: HE makes the show. Mmmmm, pina coladas. Yum! Sounds great so far except for the mix up. Oh and tonga toast is good BUT omg so sweet. My hubby and I couldn't even finish half of one. The waitress warned us!

Selena, cruise shopping sounds like much more fun than sleeping on a floor! Flashing hair braids, how interesting.

I am SOOOOO :cool1: excited. We met 3 very good friends that we cruise with every year since 2002 on the DISboard. One of them decided to fly out here Feb 3rd. It will be so much fun. She is a crazy lady! Now all I have to do is find a man for her out here and maybe she would move here. JrsyBoy, she is from Clementon. One is from Sicklerville and the other is from Berlin. All New Jersey. They all are know here as the Disney Dudettes.

Better run. It is so dry here in CO that I am watering the grass. Will catch you all later.

Selena - where do you find the flashing hair braids?

Mom - I have Madagascar at home so you can borrow it some time. I can't wait for Bonnie to get out here.....gotta love the DIS, you meet some of your best friends here.

Karen - when the holidays calm down we were going to try and meet up with Jrsy Boy to see his true identity....heck we don't even know what his real first name is!!!!

You mean Jrsy isn't his first name? :rotfl2:

Ah, from south Jersey...probably Eagles fans. If you want to get them agitated, call them "Pineys" - that's NJ's version of a redneck. I come from a town about 60 miles or so north of that area called Somerville.

Oh boy Jersey...I am not sorry. LO We beat you!!

Is that the move it move it song. Erik wants it on his ipod but you have to buy the whole dang cd and we donot want to do that. Does anyone want to make me a copy? lol

Did I tell you guys I am wanting to go to NJ for when the Freedom comes to the states? She comes in May. I am hoping Jeff will let me go. He said I had to convince him. Don't think he means by my cooking either. :rotfl2:

Did I tell you about the flashing flip flops??? I am going to order a pair og those too. They are more expensive but I want them. LOL I will use them on all of my vacations.

What about the glow straws. I found a killer buy on those 50 (which is go since they last about 6 hours) for 14.95.

OMG My aunt once called my sister in law (the one I can't stand) a Piney! (She deserved it, though.) You made me laugh so hard! I'm from the part of NJ that thinks they're New York . . . so . . . .

Anyway, on with the show- I'm not feeling too well so I'll tell you about the first day of the cruise (day 4 of my vacay) and leave the other days for later.

So we arrive at the terminal and we can see the Wonder. :boat: I am so excited at this point! :bounce: We get through the little Mickey tunnel and all of a sudden we're on the ship! Lots of people around! Loud clapping! A CM asks for our family name (I wasn't sure what to say since I was traveling with the bf so I went with his name, cause that's what we'll be eventually) and they're welcoming us! :sunny:

They say our room is ready ::yes:: so we get to the elevator and ride on up to Deck 7! Room 7122! The room is beautiful, :flower: though my derriere needs to be smaller to effectively deal with the bathroom size. :crowded: We immediately go outside to check our view and then explore our room! :magnify: Toiletries! :cheer2: Our REAS basket! :cheer2: Closet space! :cheer2: Paperwork! :cheer2: Yay! We look at our dining tickets and see" PTTA My heart skips a little because we have Palo reservations for the fourth night. I do NOT want to miss Animator's Palate! :scared: I bat my eyelashes a few times :flower3: and send my boyfriend down to straighten this out, quickly explaining that he needs to make sure that I am eating at least once at AP and Palo. :wave2:

I decided to break out my Clorox wipes and my suitcase. I divided our clothes, set up our bathroom stuff, my makeup, and organized everything. I bought one of those hanging organizers that are about 6 feet long (from Ikea) and are mesh and have like 8 or so little cubbies. They collapse to the size of a thick plate so it was easy to pack and it held a lot of stuff. I ran back with some of his clothes and forth with some of mine and back with our dorky monogrammed Mickey Mouse robes, and forth with my nightlight, and back with our formal wear, and :hyper: ohhhh did I feel dizzy, :faint: and sick, and uh oh! :guilty: I was paralyzed on the bed when Rob came back. Thank God he knew I had been unpacking and not sitting there the whole time!

tbc

Rob told me that we had Palo switched to the third night :goodvibes and I felt a little better. We went to the buffet on the top deck and I was hardly able to walk. Not good. I took two slices of bread, and some shrimp cocktail and went outside to get a table. CRASH! There went a chair. SPLASH! There went a cupful of ice. I chose a beautiful clean table right at the peak of the boat. About 2 feet away, a huge wind tunnel took grasp of my face and body and physically pushed me away. :scared1: Hmmm. I guess that's why it was empty. :rotfl: I sat down with my tray, while Rob went to get me water. He came back and we dined. I started to feel better- fresh air, Disney, carbs- those three things usually make me feel better. ::yes:: :wizard:

We headed to the Vista Spa for the tour, even though we had most of our treatments booked. We did add the Rainforest Room (We LOVED this, but next time, we'd wait to get a 3 day pass for the last 3 days instead of a 4 day pass because we did not get to use it on day one) I also added a manicure with exotic hand ritual and pedicure for right after the Lifejacket drill because even though I had gotten them on Dec 22, they were not holding up well.

We went back to the room, got changed and went to the Lifejacket Drill. We were hustled to Animator's Palate and quickly hustled out. :cool1: We returned the jackets asap and I went to my Spa apointments. The lady was from Jamaica, she did a fantastic hand and foot massage, and a wonderful French manicure. My fingers and toes looked gorgeous and I was ready for the Cruise! :goodvibes

tbc

I went back to the room and showed off her artwork :cloud9: until my boyfriend got bored of my prancing :rolleyes1 and then we went to the hot tub for a little while before we got changed for the evening. It was really hard blow drying my hair in that little bathroom, next time I think I'll plug it in in the stateroom itself. We put on the matching Mickey tiki shirt and dress that we saw at least 750 other people wearing at WDW or the Cruise, :jumping1: lol. :rotfl: Guess everyone saw that sale! We still looked cute! We watched Hercules on the TV while we got ready. (We were running too late to go) We enjoyed the jokes and were excited for our dinner. :teeth:

We got to Parrot Cay and it was a few minutes early so we walked around. We saw Mickey and Minnie! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo Together! :hyper2: In Nautical Wear! in front of Triton's! So we got in line and took a really cute picture! ::yes:: We went back to Parrot Cay and found our table. Our table mates were two families of three and they were very nice. Our servers were also wonderful. Our assistant server actually was from Poland and my boyfriend speaks fluent Polish so that was cool. :chat:

I had some of whatever fruity drink special she recommended :drinking1 and I was very happy. The boast rocked a lot trhough dinner, but between my ginger pills, my SeaBands and my drinks, I was feeling fine by then! Boyfriend had some other drink. He was feelin fine too!

For dinner, I had Pomegranate Chicken wings, a cold mango and papaya soup (like a smoothie in a bowl) and the roast chicken with mashed sweet potatoes and veggies. Robbie had the Crab Martinique which was great! and some kind of salad and the Rib Eye Steak for dinner. I had the Creme Brulee cheesecake for dessert and he had the Ice Cream Sundae. It was all yummy! :flower2: By the time we were done, it was 10:30! We took a walk through the shops and around the boat, and went back to our room. We had a towel animal on our bed! :ssst: I can't remember which one was our first night- I think it was a lobster, though. :upsidedow We were still in bed before midnight, looking forward to all the things tomorrow would bring. ::MinnieMo   ::MickeyMo
