Hi ladies!!!
Well, I am glad to see we're all chatting! I just made my grocery list for Thanksgiving. My mom, dad, Aunt and me all cook, so we all buy what we need to make our stuff. This year I'm making pumpkin pie from scratch, like raw pumpkin and crust from scratch- I do it every year for my boyfriend - for the past three years. I"m also making Pumpkin Corn Bisque with Jalapeno Pesto, cranberry sauce from scratch, a Weight Watchers Pear Crostada for me, and green bean casserole. My mom does all the other desserts, and appetizers, while my dad controls all the other sides and the Birds (yes, we have TWO!) My three brothers, their wives, including my sister in law Maleficent

and kids and my aunt, uncle and cousin will be there.
Chis are apparently the best! My hairdresser friend in Arkansas says that's the only thing he uses! Good luck though! It's a talent!
Marcie- I loved that *funniest comments* thread. My fave was where the kid was picking out Toy Story toys and he finally decides on what he wants and he tells his mom "I want a little Buzz and a big Woody." hahahahah!
And don't feel bad about feeling cold at 58 degrees- I am the same way and I live in New Jersey!!!!! I am a *big* crab in the cold! I have tons of sweaters and sweatshirts and big, thick socks. When I was thinner, I used to wear sweatpants under my jeans. Now, that would make me look like the State Puff Marshmallow Man so I don't do that anymore!
I hope you have the BEST time!
I have 39 days left!!! Yes!
Selena, don't let anyone guilt/pressure you. You have to trust yourself in all things and do what you think is best. No one should try to control you and say you're wrong if you do not do what they want. It's sad when family has struggles like this, but everyone's has them. For example, I cannot stand my one sister in law. I even had a thread about it awhile back, "Does anyone else hate their sister in law" haha A little harsh but it fit. She's very catty and bossy and always has a comment. On everything- from "what smells? you cooking something?" to "Isn't that wall color a little bright" to "aren't you a little too old for Disney" its all nastiness. What's worse is how she ignores her 2 year old son and doesn't treat him well. She doesnt' abuse him or anything, but she just doesn't talk to him or play with him much. She takes him shopping and tries to *teach* aka force him to say lines she thinks are cute, funny, smart, etc. She ridicules me when I'm grading or if I mention something about teaching or college because she thinks that she didn't need college and writing essays, etc, isn't important. Wait until her son is a senior in high school.
Well, here are some more drink recipes! I will need them! haha!
Evil Princess (haven't tried it but love the name!)
Ingredients
1 oz Grenadine
2 oz Grape Juice
1 oz Apple Juice
1 tbsp Vanilla Syrup
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
Mixing Instruction
Pour over ice, stir and garnish with a lime slice.
Butterscotch Truffle Martini ( I Loooove this)
Ingredients:
2 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Butterscotch Schnapps
Splash of Creme de Cacao
Instructions:
Blend with ice and serve in a chilled glass.....DECADENT! It tastes just like a butterscotch truffle.
Candy Cane (Complex, but I want to try it!)
Ingredients:
2 oz. Rum
1 oz. Strawberry Daiquiri Mix
1 oz. Pina Colada Mix
Dash of Peppermint Schnapps
Instructions:
Divide the rum in two shot glass. Add the strawberry mix to one shot glass filled with rum, and the pina colada mix to the other glass filled with rum. Take a double shot glass and use a piece of metal or wood to separate the glass into two sections. Fill one side with the strawberry daiquiri, and the other side with the pina colada. Use the metal divider to swirl them together. Float the peppermint schnapps on top.
Chocolate Martini (this is my recipe, it's great! just sip it though, lol)
Ingredients:
1 oz. Godiva chocolate liqueur
1 oz. Stoli vanilla vodka
Pour into shaker with lots of ice.
Add a swirl ( like 2-3 tablespoons) of chocolate syrup- I like Hershey's Special Dark. Shake it up really well so chocolate syrup gets mixed in. Strain into a cocktail glass. You could make it fancier by rimming the glasses or adding a chocolate swizzle stick candy. Sometimes I'll add cherries, too. (and a little juice from the jar to the mix) for a chocolate covered cherry martini.
Anyone else here an eggnog fan? I've never liked the heavy homemade kind, but I *love* the Axelrod Farms Light Eggnog- sometimes I'll add a little rum, too.
