Heidi, you are 25? You and your boyfriend are 10 - 11 years apart? My DH and I are 10 1/2 years apart.

Yes I am 25 and Chris just turned 36 last Wednesday. I will be 26 at the end of May. My BIL just turned 37 last Wednesday and well she is the same age and has the same b-day as me!!!!!!! I guess we like older men!!!!

Yes, I pretty much always dated older men. I turned 35 last month and he will be 46 in July, 2 days after we get off the cruise. Speaking of that, I have to remember to call my TA and tell her we will be celebrating his bday on the cruise.

Hi everyone, I'm back! The kids and I went up to my parents house in Loveland for a few days. We drove up on Sunday afternoon to beat the snow and we came back this morning. The kids are on spring break and we didn't have anything planned so I thought we would have fun crashing at Grandma's. It was fun. We just hung out and watched the snow and played games. Yesterday we went to the movies and saw "Shaggy Dog". It was cute. Last night they introduced me to American Idol. That was the first time that I had ever watched it, believe it or not. I am not up on their names yet, but I really liked the first person on there (her name started with a M) I also thought that the one that did the Patsy Cline song was good, at least with that song. I will probably start Tivoing(is that a word :confused3 ) so that I can cut through some of the stuff.

Hi everyone, no time to read but wanted to stop in and say hi. My niece is here today and we are making a fleece CU blanket. Will try and get on later. Hugs.

Wow! Its nice to see that there are some young ladies out there who don't mind guys my age (and follically challenged guys, at that). Of course, where were you when I was single? Oh, wait, you were still in high school...scratch that, middle school (12 years of wedded bliss coming up in May!). My wife, naturally, is older than I am (but only by 2 years and 4 months).

Marcie, I'll have to catch a flight down for the weekend so I can hold your purse while you try on the dress...

Sweet, I was wondering what I was going to do with my purse. :lmao: :rotfl2: Besides, it's always nice to have a man's opinion.

BTW, hope you feel better soon Jrsy.

I feel so bad that my mom did not get an upgrade and I did. I actually lost sleep over it last night because I felt so guilty because they did book the room for me. I really hope they get an upgrade too, or else I might not enjoy it as much. I am sure as time passes it won't be so disappointing for my mom and I won't feel as guilty...but still TODAY I feel bad!!!!!

My friend is doing okay, she is actually acting so passive about it that it scares me and her mom. We think that if she wants to fight for her marriage then they need to go to counseling, but if not then she should talk to a lawyer. She is taking his word on everything and we think she needs to get everything in writing. He keeps saying that she can have everything and that she can keep Elijah with her and he would have visitation rights BUT she needs this on paper so she can fight. I am going over to her house tonight to help her fill out applications for government jobs.

Ok let me address theses before I read any futher.

Heidi, I am sure your mother would love to be upgraded as well but she would not want you to feel guilty. Heck if Mac and I had this happen and she said she felt bad I would tell her to give me the room then....lol :lmao: Seriously you know your mother is thrilled for you and would NOT want you to lose sleep over it. That is what a mom does not a child.

Oh YES she needs it in writing. I have seen too many of these cases happen. Same thing happened to Jeff with my step daughter. Your friend needs this in writing!! If she ticks him off just once over anything he could change his mind! I told 14 years ago he had better have visitation rights put into his custody agreement for Brandy. He would not listen to me. I stayed ticked at him for a month. I told him if he did not have the visitation put into writing we would never see her. Well guess what?? We got her twice after he did this. Twice!! I wanted to raise this child and he took it away from me! I was so mad at him I thought about a divorce. I seriously did. I felt like Brandy would have been better off with her dad instead of another relative. My step daughter was raised by one of his relatives. The BIGGEST mistake he ever made was to take the word of his Aunt over me. Keep on telling her to do this.

Karen Cosmo is here!!! I was so shocked when I got home and there he was. Jeff learned his lesson about opening my passport so he had not opened Cosmo. He is so cute. I plan on taking pictures and posting them sometime. LOL

I am so busy right now. My salon appointment was cancelled last week for a tan and then my hair appointment was cancelled last night. I have all of these errands I desperately need to do but I have a pedi appointment at 9:30 on Saturdat and Carol rescheduled my hair appointment for 11:00 Saturday.

Better yet can you believe I have not made one door sign? I have to get busy. I have a few in the making but I have not actually done anything on these in about 2 months. I am bad!!!

Jrsy hope you get better soon.

Port of calls are Key West and Cozumel. It is only a 4 night cruise. I have never done a 4 nighter so I was game but now I wish we would have done at least 5 nights. LOL

In two weeks I will be in Ft Lauderdale enjoying (hopefully) the sun. I can hardly wait. We leave for the cruise two weeks tomorrow.

Karen, hang in there on the move! Just think you will only be a day's drive from a bunch of us....

Heidi, you will get used to your hair and love it! I used to have hair down to mid back and then cut it to shoulder. Now if it gets to shoulder it is WAY too long. I love it short a lot better! Congrats on the upgrade!!!!! Maybe your mom will get one too!

Jrsy... feel better soon! I thought about you today.... We went to Ted's for dinner and then to the Disney blowout store next door. I only bought two things there though... I got DD a new hoodie for $8 and myself a very soft Dumbo t-shirt for $7.

Wow, if you don't mind I might have to share this "first hand experience" with my friend so then maybe it will sink in that she needs all this in writing. How sad, but thank you for sharing. When my boyfriend got a divorce, his ex wife made him sign something stating she gets full custody and he did it. A year later he regretted it and took her to court to try and get shared custody of the girls, but because of that note he signed the judge refused. Thankfully his ex and him are on great terms now and we get the girls whenever we want. They even made an agreement that they each take one girl to claim on their taxes. I know for sure I would have never stayed with Chris if he wasn't involved in his daughters lives.

Yay cosmo arrived at Selena's place. He is one lucky monkey!!!!!!

Selena - sounds like you have a very busy weekend a head!!

So much fog this morning. We are on a dense fog warning until 9:00am this morning. Crazy and kind of scary to drive in that much fog!!!! You could hardly see the stoplights, let alone other cars!!!!

Took my best friend out to dinner last ngiht at the elephant bar and then we worked on her application for jobs. Also bought a vaccum to borrow until mine comes in!!!!!

My friend has now really considered getting a lawyer but she is not sure how to start to look for one let alone pay for one. I was wondering if lawyers charge up front or after everything is completed and if her husband could be made to pay the attorney fees in the settlement? I have to keep an eye on her because she has been sleeping A LOT and spending most of the time in bed...maybe she is on the verge of depression? She has always wanted to go to the Elephant Bar but since she really doens't have any money now I took her there last night to cheer her up and get her out of the house. I think it helped her. She wants to plan a girls weekend trip to either Las Vegas or Disneyland in August because it is her 30th birthday and we were supose to go to a bed and breakfast and go white water rafting with our SO's. Our friend lives out in Cali and her sister works for Disneyland and can get us tickets so it should be a pretty cheap trip!!!!!!! At least she will have something to look forward too.

Okay sorry for rambling!!!!

Good morning all.

Sorry I was MIA yesterday. My teen niece keeps me busy on her spring breaks. I practically raised her so she is like one of my own dd's. We are very close.

Jrsy, get to feeling better.

Thanks everyone with helping Heidi out regarding her upgrade and also about her friend.

Marcie, love the story about the dress. How sweet.

Selena, I can't believe how fast you got Cosmo. FL has a good mail system! Your trip will soon be here. Lucky you!

Lulu, where are you?

Karen, I couldn't even start to imagine ME packing to move. After being in this house for 30 years. YIKES! And to think we might build a new one. Oh-oh Heidi. What are you doing the next few MONTHS? Helping me pack?? lol

Cristi, sounds like a fun spring break for the kids. I think I want to see Shaggy Dog.

Sorry if I forgot something. You guys were quite talkative yesterday. I really should take notes.

AI, it was sad to see Kevin go last night. While he wasn't my favorite nor do I think he has talent....it was still sad.

Heidi, the only thing I had to pay up front was the court costs when I got a divorce. My ex didn't even get a lawyer. After the divorce was final and I got a bill, I was allowed to pay monthly payments. She should get a free consultation and she can talk to them and find out. I ended up having to go back to court because he wasn't paying child support and the courts made him pay the court costs. So, I do know that they can do that. Hope I helped. She is lucky to have you. Keep an eye on her and don't let her sleep too much because she most probably is going into depression.

Good morning everyone! Glad to know Cosmo made it. :thumbsup2

I better get to work, I will catch up later.

A good place to start might be the Colorado Bar Association website . There is a lot of information there.

Heidi, back in my days when I worked at the courts there was an organization called "Legal Aid" which would help indigent people. Not sure if it still exists but it would be worth a try. Yes, she could ask the Judge to have him pay her atty fees. It doesn't always get granted. Attorneys have been known to charge a lump sum payable in monthly installments. Some require a "down payment". Some charge by the hour. It pays to shop around. Unfortunately the attys that were around in my days have pretty much retired. The younger ones have turned into Judges so I can't even recommmend one.

My friend who got a divorce was trying to get him to pay lawyer and court costs. In the end she had to pay this because she wanted other things more. She made out to the good. She got the house and half of his retirement. He only got his beaten up old car and the other half of his retirement. She also gets enough in child support that she still does not work outside of the home. But she complains to me constantly about him not paying for camps and all the extras. I love her dearly but I told her she needs to use the child support to support the kids not to pay all of her bills. She refuses to get a job and she feels like he should have to pay for anythng the kids want to do such as camps or trips. She is nuts.

Selena, your friend has an interesting concept of child support! I use to work in the DA's office for non support. Stories that we heard from the moms and dads were always quite funny. Things like why they couldn't pay or what they do with the money. You would be amazed!

:rotfl2: yea, Selena, don't get me started. The child support I get doesn't even pay for the food Aerial eats. And, he will NOT pay for any extras because he says he pays child support, that includes medical bills that he is supposed to pay, but I let that slide because I'm tired of dealing with it. As long as he pays his monthly support I don't say anything. But, then again that's why we divorced, because he didn't want to work and help support his family. Okay I better get off my soap box. Before I sound whiney or like I'm male bashing. :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Okay, I am really starting to feel bad about taking my vacation for my July 15th cruise. First, I had to move it from July 29th to July 15th because my DH was supposed to have a meeting that week. Well then they changed his meeting to June. July is a quarterly payroll return month so it's busier then some months, although it's one of the slower payroll months. So, it would have worked out great to leave late in the month. But, I moved it to July 15th. Afterwards, I found out that, one of my co-workers is pregnant and is due July 20th so she will be out at the very least probably a few days while I am gone. Now, today I found out that another co-worker's son is in the world series in another state on July 17th - the 21st. So out of 6 of us who do these returns, 3 of us will be gone. I already bought my airline tickets too. My office manager told me to put in my request today and that July will be tough. I do know I will be working my butt off when I get back on the 24th. At least they are not due until the 31st. But I still feel guilty. :confused3

Marcie, I think that you shouldn't feel guilty. You have had this planned for awhile. Who would have guessed that the baby was due then or the world series was scheduled at the same time. You already have changed it once and now with the plane tickets bought it would cost you even more. I say go and have a good time. The work will be there when you get back!!
