Heidi... I have nothing good to say about men right now... except for Jrsy of course!! Every day I get a new surprise from my DH... so all I can say is to be there for your friend. That really makes me want to cry. If you want, since DH is now telling me I may be pulling my car behind a van... I can bring your friend along with me and drop her off in Colorado!!!! Hey, we have to laugh!!!

Okay I tried my dress on at the end of lunch for all of my co-workers. I paraded around the office in it. They said, it's not too small at all, it fits great. I am just going to get the straps altered. Karen, it's red with white flowers.

Karen - my friend and her husband actually moved back from FL. They have been back in CO for a little under a year, thank god since her mom and I are out here to help her through this. Her husband does not have any family. His mom left him when he was way little and his dad committed suicide, his brother is in prison and all he had was my friend's family. My friend's dad died when she was 16 due to Coors error, we never drink any Coors products around her.

You should definitely pick up paintballing...it is a great work out and so much fun (even though you come out of it with huge welts and bruises!!!) I have a blast doing paint ball!!!!!!

I looked at the pictures in the thread and I am jealous with how tan you are!!!!!! I wish I could be that tan!!!

My Hawaiian dress came in today. I went home at lunch and tried it on. It's just a teenie bit too small where it kinda gathers in the back. But the front fits good. So I'm sure I can still wear it. The straps are too big though so I know they will fall down. I will try it on for my friends.

...and for the guy holding your purse. I'm sure that was a given, so you didn't feel the need to mention it. I look forward to seeing you in it.

Aw, shucks...

It is about an 8 hour drive tops. But it is the LONGEST drive ever... very, very boring to go from Lincoln to Denver.

I've done it twice during thunderstorms. The rain wasn't bad, but the lightning was awesome to watch! Because it is so flat, the lightning bolts go on forever. Maybe it is just better to drive at night since there is nothing to see anyway.

Karen, I love your attitude. I always try to see good in everything. And....I think you are doing the same. Omaha.....I lived for 18 years VERY close to Omaha. I think it was about a 2 hour drive.

Marcie, good news about the dress! It is so cute. I would have hated for you to return it!

No Jrsy, don't drive it at night. We did it when our girls were infants. BIG mistake. Open gas stations are few and far between. Believe me...we know. We found out the hard way. A trucker stopped and gave us some gas to get us by. The lightening is great isn't it? I remember seeing a huge storm approaching and the dark, dark clouds.

Selena, I hated thunder and lightening storms as a child. Growing up in SoDak with all the tornadoes, I think I just assumed they would all turn into a tornado. My grandparents farm was destroyed by a tornado.

Hey, which one of you said that Chris from AI was from your hometown? I am too lazy to go back and read but anyway.......I always liked him because of how his wife portrayed him as a stepdad. I think that is why he has remained my favorite.

Selena, I'm just now ordering the shoes. But I don't see anywhere on giggles & more site to put the size. Can you help me? LOL I was also going to buy the full bloom shoes but they are sold out.

Nevermind I found another site that has them. But, I'm still chicken to buy them. They are more expensive. $24.

BTW, I washed my dress and it shrunk a bit, and now the straps are just a teeny bit too big.

Good morning to all! I am hanging in there doing ok with a better attitude each day. Although I shook my head when I went to get the mail in shorts a tank and flip flops knowing Nebraska was getting bilzzarded (BTW...that little is a scarecrow to me... that is why I put him on).
Cosmo is on theway so no worries... he has smooth traveling a great weather from here to Selenas house.
As far a weather... the last time I drove that strip of weatehr, I want to say it was from my dads funeral. Amber, Jordan (DS 21) and I got caught and I though we were going to die. I actually thing we pulled off at Kearney. We stopped at a McDonalds. There was NO place to go and now way to see. I was white knuckling it the whole way and my cell went dead. I thought for sure we were going down and the other kids at home would never find us. It all worked out obviously... but man... what a drive that one is.
As far as lightening... we are in the Lightening Capital of the world.... Tampa.It has CRAZY lightening.... just beautiful if you don't get scared.
Next, I watch Amazing Race (all time favorite) AND Apprentice AND Grays Anatomy along with American Idol. I have decided AI is one of those shows you only watch through TEVO or whatever digital recording thing you have, because you need to fast forward through so much crap to get to the songs.

Heidi- that made me so angry! I don't get why some people are so inconsiderate and hurtful, even to people they love/once loved, etc.

Karen- Keep looking at the positives. I'm sorry for this challenge in your path.

Marcie- I've become an expert at "self-tailoring"= shortening straps, stretching hip areas, hemming, etc.

I saw part of Apprentice. What's his name, Bryce? Brent? My brain still isn't on. He was so annoying and he thought he was immune to being fired. They didn't have to bring him into the boardroom, The Donald got him first.

I just took on another job- just for the next 2-3 weeks - home instruction. I will be freaking out until this is done, but a few extra bucks will come in handy. I just opened an ING Orange so I'm happy with that.

Anyway, off to work!!

It's cold here today. Well not cold compared to Colorado, but it's 50 degrees. Anything under 70 and I'm cold though.

Still snowing, but not accumulating on my drive to work this morning. I think we are supose to get some light flurries for the rest of the week!!! I just wish it would dump snow on us and we could have a few snow days!!!!

Karen - glad you are having a better attitude to help with your move. It's hard, but you can do it!!!!! It's great that you are thinking about the positives along with the negatives. I am not sure if I could be so positive!!!!!

I was going to tell you guys that Amber does not have a computer at her place so she has to use outs and with 4 people here...getting a space in is hard. Aside from the fact that she has been packing b/c DH is taking a load back with him this weekend and Amber needs to get her stuff here if she wants him to take it. Once he leaves that means at that point alot will be done and also, more time at the computer for the rest of us.!! Speaking of which I need to go get my coffee!!

Marcie, I AM excited for the big announcement. I am going to try and swing it but with airfare I think it will be a bit too much for our pocketbook! Plus, the way the world is today I am VERY nervous about travelling too far away from the US. Sorry about the dress shrinking but the straps fit much better!! Hmmmm, ATM's in Key West? I never really did look for one but you sure would think so being it is the US. Anyone else know for sure?

Key West

Well, it was an early morning for us as Doug and I had a Rasul room reserved at 8 a.m. This was a room where they had more than one tiled seats to sit on (which were kind of small, but…) This also had a steam room with exfoliating products, lotions, a mask and oils for us to help ourselves to. We tried out all the products and took a shower with all these natural shampoos and conditioners and shower gels. It was wonderful and our skin felt extremely soft afterwards.

Afterwards we returned to the room and got dressed for breakfast. We went to Topsiders (Deck 9) for our breakfast buffet. Little by little the family met up with us. After breakfast, Amber and I brought Valencia to her day care facility for the week. It was called the Oceaneers Club (Deck 5 which made it very easy for us). Then we figured out who wanted to go ashore for the day. Evan was the only one who did not want to go as he had made a few friends and wanted to go to the Quarter Masters Arcade (Deck 9). He opted for staying on the ship. Heidi, Larry and Tenisa had plans to take the Trolley and see Key West that way, as Doug, Amber, Amittaia and myself walked to go see the Butterfly Garden, Hemmingway House and the Aquarium. I think Jordan and Ryan just took off to check things out and then Amber was to meet up with them in two hours. Well, we got caught in a heavy rain trying to see everything. The Hemmingway house was really neat but it took us forever to find it. I felt like I was racing against the clock to see all the things I wanted to see and we were drenched at this point.

After the house, and a lot of rain, Doug and Amber decided to split from us. Doug wanted to go back to the ship and eat and nap before dinner. Amber was supposed to meet Jordan and Ryan. Amittaia and I plugged on to find the Butterfly Garden, getting caught one more time in the rain. We did NOT look pretty. We finally found it and this was one of the highlights of my trip. I KNEW Amber would have loved this place. The butterflies were HUGE as they landed on us…well, me… this made Amittaia mad. I told her she was not sweet enough!!! We spent a lot of time here and I bought a couple beautiful books here and then we left to go to the next place… the aquarium.

We had so much walking to do and I thought since we were at the end of Duval Street, I might as well show Amittaia the Southernmost Point. So I did. We had some people take pictures of us and at this time Amittaia bumped into friends she had met onboard (that was neat!!). Now, it was time to head back and find the Aquarium. On our way we stopped and got a piece of Key Lime pie. It was yummy. THEN as we walked by some of the stores, we saw Ryan!!! All of a sudden Jordan and Amber appeared. That was real neat. Ryan wanted to go back to the ship, so he took Amittaia and Jordan and Amber went off for a little bit more as I was on my quest to go to the Aquarium. Jordan gave me a free ticket into the Aquarium and told me they would be in the bar across the street. I headed to see the fish and was a bit disappointed in it and was glad I did not have to pay to get in. So, since I did not stay long there, I headed back to the bar where Amber and Jordan were, and I sat and visited with them for a bit.

Well, since I did not check Evans bag before we left and I trusted him…. I do not know who to blame (him or myself) when I actually saw what clothes he brought on. Five gray tee shirts (gray is his favorite color) with no dress shorts and one pair of jeans, NO casual slacks after I JUST bought him 2 pairs!!! So, after I visited with the older kids, they took off to go back to the ship as I hunted down a couple more outfits for Evan to wear for dining. I was successful and then I headed back and took a few more pics of the Disney Magic (rain and all) before I boarded.

After we dried off, Heidi and Larry showed us their henna tattoos they got at Key West and then Heidi and Amber and I squeezed in a game of BINGO that we were unsuccessful at winning. We decided to each buy a card one at a time at a setting and then if we did win, we would split the winnings. No luck there. L

It was time to get ready for dinner. Amber got Valencia from her playgroup and she wanted to dress in her Belle (Beauty & the Beast ~ yellow) Princess dress. Tonight was the night we headed to Animators Palate. This is where everything is black and white when you walk in and during the coarse of the dining experience, the room and the servers turn colorful. This was beautiful and amazing as we were all in awe of the changes. We took a lot of pictures. After the dinner and the color change all the servers danced around the room where we hooted and hollered for Ronald as he went by!!!! Go Ronald!! Jordan yelled, “I love you Ronald!!” Hahaha. Lots of fun was had for all of us.

After dinner, everyone split up, as Heidi really was not feeling good. The kids took off… younger ones went to The Stack and the older ones took off to the nightclubs. Doug took off to go to bed and I took off to chase down some characters with Valencia. Larry went to see Gary Delana the comedian and he said he had a great time and that he was very funny.

When I returned to the room… Doug was fast asleep and so I ordered room service… the “All Hands on Deck Cheese Platter” and then I ordered chocolate chip cookies and coffee for the morning. J When room service came, there was no charge although you had a limited menu. All the food was GREAT. All we did was take a few dollars out of our “room service tip” money and handed it to the server. I then made a “wake up call” for the next morning in which I would be awakened by Mickey!!! J
