I did it....I finished my trip report.

Jeep rental was easy. We walked out to the main gate where a white Jeep was waiting for us. The guys from Executive got in a red jeep, and we got in the white jeep and followed him to their office. It was a very short distance. We filled out the paperwork and left by 9:30am.
We drove the coastal road and stopped at Punta Sur. The waves were crashing against the shore. Tried to get the top down from the Jeep but it didn’t work. Quite honestly, we weren’t too upset over that because we felt the sun beating down on us all day would be too hot. Off the main road at Punta Sur is a road to a working lighthouse. It cost us 10.00 to enter the National Park. We climbed up some very narrow steps to the top. The view was awesome. We had a 360 view of Cozumel and the Caribbean Sea. We are so tall that we had to get on our knees to crawl in and out of the top of the lighthouse.
We continued on our road trip. I have read so much about Coconuts on Trip Advisor. It is a bar/grill that is a must see. When we arrived it was exactly what they said. You have to climb several stairs to get to it. It has a spectacular view of the sea at the top. The bar has a reputation for hanging tshirts that people donate on the ceiling of their open bar. The roof is thatch. Its other reputation is to provide free shots to women that flash their breasts. The bar takes pictures of it and keeps them in several photo albums on the bar. No, I didn’t flash. We ate fish tacos, guacamole, chips and salsa. All were very tasty. The salsa was too spicy for me but Ted loved it. It was more food than we expected. Next time we will share an order of fish tacos. For all that food and two pops, it only cost 23.00 USD. Thought that was pretty good. They have a cat that everyone adores. His name is Garfield and looks just like Garfield. He decided to share our table and take a nap on one of our chairs. They have 2 roosters that run around and one cockatoo. I am so glad that we experienced Coconuts.
It didn’t take long and we arrived in the town of San Miguel. There were a couple of ships in Port. One was the Freedom. I thought of Selena. Ted did a great job navigating around town. We were forewarned about the “tope’s”. They are the biggest highest speed bumps we have ever seen. Must say that they certainly do slow the traffic! We found the perfect spot to park by the port and shopped. We bought a few souvenirs for the family. After that we headed back to Executive to return the car.
We got back around 1:30pm. We were so thirsty that we stopped for a couple of drinks. I had a diet coke, a cabana and found a new “favorite” drink. It is called the Grand Cozumel. I hope to find the real name of it so I can order it back home. It consists of vodka, Peach liquor, coconut cream, pineapple juice and grenadine. It is a frozen drink.
The Members cocktail party was a blast. They had several taxis’s take us to Alberto’s next door. It would have only been about a 10 minute walk on the beach to Alberto’s but they were nice to supply the taxi’s. Albertos is locally owned by one man. It is right on the beach. They are known for fresh lobster and shrimp. It started around 5:00 and by 5:30 we watched the sunset. Of course, the sunset didn’t disappoint us. The drinks supplied were rum punch, beer, tequila sunrise and margaritas. For appetizers we had guacamole, chips, salsa, shrimp cerviche and fish cerviche. I am now an addict of cerviche! We were able to get to know more of Madeleine and Daniel, managers of the Vacation Club at the Allegro Cozumel. They are very down to earth, fun, sincere people. We went to the party with another couple that we met. The four of us were the last to leave the party as we enjoyed getting to know the managers. It was to have been over at 6:30 but we caught the taxi back at 7:30.
Since we didn’t have a real dinner we called room service but it was going to take 30-40 minutes so we ran down to the buffet.
Back in the room at 8:30 and watched REAL AMERICAN TV. We watched Dateline about the girl that was murdered in Aruba.

This day is starting out sad knowing that today is the last full day of our trip. Ted did the chair routine and we headed to breakfast.
We had an 8:30am meeting with Daniel to upgrade our membership to every year. It took longer that what we anticipated but got to the beach by 10.
Went sailing again. Another nice windy day for sailing. We watched a Dive Palancar employee capsize a Hobie Cat twice. He managed to upright it once but the second time he needed help. One of the glass bottom boats helped him and then pulled him back to shore.
The water was pretty chilly so we only got in it a couple of times. Left the beach and went back to our room to enjoy our balcony. The Grand Cozumel was our drink of choice today. Love it.
We had dinner at the Sonoma Grill. It was just as good the second time around. Had the same meal as the first time.
Had to face the facts and packed.

D-Day! Going home.
Did the morning routine and was able to enjoy the beach and water for a couple of hours so that was nice. Went back to the room to shower and call the Royal Club to get the bellman. Checked out. Thank goodness that it was a cooler day because we were in blue jeans. We managed to sit at the beach on “our” chairs until lunch. We managed to have a couple more of the Grand Cozumel drinks before we left. Thank goodness that the drinks never make us tipsy!! We had a nice leisure lunch and headed to the lobby. The bellman called for the taxi and it was there within two minutes.
The taxi dropped us off at the airport two hours before departure time of 4:30. I can’t say enough great things about the Cozumel airport. It was a breeze to get through everything. We flew out on time at 4:30.
Arrived in Denver to very cold temperatures. It was late and of course I didn’t want to cook so we stopped at Fazoli’s for dinner. We missed having milk every night so we both ordered milk with our spaghetti.
I unpacked all the wet clothes as Ted shoveled. Heidi and Chris shoveled for us but it was a windy day and it blew snow in.
Headed to bed around 10:00pm It feels good to be home but we are looking forward to our next trip to Mexico.
