Ok. Besides any PS ressies still needing to be made, our FTP is pretty well set for 8 days in September in the Tower at the CR.

However, my mind still wanders. It might be nice to go up a few floors in the tower and upgrade to the Tower Club, not the full concierge. Since we have the FTP we would only be paying for 4 nights. To break it down, $240 more for the 7 nights. (or a little over $34 per night)

Just looking for a little insight. If you've stayed there before or have heard anything, at 43% off, is it worth it? Normally I don't think I would consider it, but the FTP makes it tempting.

Any thoughts???

For an extra $34 per night I would say it is definitely worth it. The snack food selections aren't as broad as they would be on full concierge but my husband would do it for the bottled water alone. We were given a free upgrade to Club level once and we loved it. It was nice to be able to grab a quick pastry and drink in the morning and saved us from doing a sit down breakfast everyday. Even my picky-eater kids were satisfied. The maid knew my husband liked the bottled water and usually left extra bottles in our room. The best service we ever had in our 3 stays at the Contemporary was the time we were on the Club Level. Definitely worth an extra $34! And the view was fabulous!!

I've been tempted to do the same thing! We are going to CR in just over a month and are staying in a regular tower room. Oh, so tempting!!

Yes I'd do it in a heartbeat. Think about it, you might not want a continental breakfast all 8 days BUT on the days you do want it, - it will save a bundle over breakfast at Chef Mickey's or elsewhere - plus the free water bottles for the parks, free afternoon snacks, etc...
Just remember, they do not offer evening stuff. Still, definately worth $34.00 a night!

Can someone give me an example of the "afternoon snacks" that are provided at CR Tower Club?

I am interested in this as well. We just booked 1 night concierge through DVC.

When I was there it was simple snacks. Lemonaid, coffee, etc... plus a variety of cookies (rice krispy treats, big cookies, etc...) I can't remember if they had other things like fruit maybe. It wasn't much but it was nice for my daughter to enjoy and I enjoyed the coffee break.

The tower club concierge is not a big deal - but for $34.00 extra a night I'd do it because you will get your money's worth. Remember, food/snacks/drinks are expensive at disney.

Another tip: do NOT order room service (what an incrediable rip off) if you want food in your room it is easy to go down to the snack bar (which has things like pizza, sandwhiches, soup, etc.. and it is good), get your food, put it on a tray (they are right there in the snack bar) and bring it back up to your room.

Oh , the rooms at the Contemporary are a bit larger than other rooms at Disney. I found our room very spacious, and deluxe, nice bathroom too. Beds were comfortable (but not nearly as comfortable as a Loews Hotel or Westin) - still it was nice.

We had a MK view where you can see fireworks from your room -Nice touch but not a big deal if you don't receive it. Hotel is on a busy street - you will hear a little traffic during the day coming from this road.

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone. It's looking like we may go for it after all.

I understand that you get a fridge in the room too for no additional cost up there.

Is that true about the fridge for no cost? I had heard that was no longer being done - can anyone who has been recently confirm this please?

I neglected to ask when I called to make the ressies, but how do we contact the concierge regarding special requests before we get there?

Thanks again,

elbo :)

The Concierge will send you a "form", where you may fill out any special requests and also make PS's in advance. ;) It's a wonderful feature. We are staying a week on the 14th Fl. (1 BR suite), and already confirmed all of our requests. ;) ENJOY!

Call the hotel direct and ask for the 12th floor concierge. they will connect you.

This thread has me thinking....

We will also be staying at the CR for six night the first week of September. I have already purchased and paid for our FTP...airfare, hotel, and park tickets.
Our room is currently the standard garden view.
How would I find out just how much and upgrade would be per night??

Call the CR Hotel directly or call the travel co that booked our package??

We stayed in the Tower Club last month and requested a fridge for our room. We were not charged for the fridge. :D
