We have an ADR for Crystal Palace at 8:05am but the park does not open until 9:am that day. Question 1- What time do busses start running? We are staying at ASMo. Question 2- How do they know to let us in the park? Question 3- Once in can we take pictures or will we be moved along to CP by CM?

TIA for you help!

Buses will start running at 7am (although the MK bus usually gets out there about 6:45am).

They will have a list of everyone that has an ADR booked so they will know to let you in. Just be prepared, they will not let anyone in until 8am. Don't panic, this is how they do it every day. The restaurant knows that so you will not be late.

You can take as many pictures as you want. They do not rush you through to the restaurants. The shops will be closed and the entrances into the lands will be roped off, but you can take pics of Main Street and the castle and such.

Have a great time, being in the park that early in the morning with virtually no one else is a very cool experience!

I was told we would need our ADR# (and our park tickets) to get into the park.

I was thinking the 8:10 time would give us time to eat breakfast and be at the rope drop at 9:00, but the CM I spoke with said to allow 1.5 hours for breakfast. Is that really how much time we'll need?

The rides are more important to us than the characters, but it's my twins' birthday (they'll be 7) and I thought it would be fun to do a character meal.

Also, does anyone know if we'll be able to pick up their birthday pins at Guest Services before we go to CP at 8:10, or will we need to back track?

::yes:: that's right. We did this on our last trip and it was wonderful. My only let down was that there was no one around to take our family picture, but I got some great ones of the rest of the family. Have fun!

We had an ADR at 8:05 last month. We were seated around 8:10 or so and we were done by 8:50 or 8:55. We were one of the first people at Space Mtn.

There is a thread a little bit down about and 8:00 ADR at Donald's in the AK. Several people are reporting that the parking lot attendants wouldn't let them in to the lot until 8:00, so they were late for their ADR.

Will we have trouble getting to the MK in time for our 8:10 ADR? We are staying off-site.

just subscribing. We also have 8:10 CP ADR's in a few weeks. I was wondering how it would work

AK seems to be the only place that has that issue. You will be able to get into the parking lot for ther Ticket and Transportation Center (MK main car parking) it is always open, even when there are no CM's at the toll plaza. The problem you will run into is the monorail. The Express monorail from the TTC to the park does not start running until 30 minutes prior to park opening time, so you will need to take the resort monorail (which starts running at 7am). Advise the monorail CM's that you have an ADR and you should not have a problem, just make sure you allot enough time for that. Since you will not be going direct from TTC to the park, you will be going from the TTC to the Poly and then to the Grand before making it to MK.

Yes you do have to have park addmission to enter, they will not let you in just for an ADR. Theme park addmission is required to eat at any of the restaurants in any of the parks.

The reason they tell you 1.5 hours is to get the full rotation of characters. It is a buffett, it could take you 30 minutes, it could take 3 hours, it is at your lesiure :) But if you want to have one on one table time with each character offered it takes about 1.5 hours :thumbsup2

Guest Relations should be open for you when you get there (as some of the tours start that early), so you should be able to pop in and get the birthday pins as soon as you get there.

We always have an 8:05 because we're through in time to be first to the ropes before the actual main gates open. Gives us a leg up, so to speak.

We also love that we can take pictures in front of the castle without basically anyone else around.

Although I always have my ADR number with me, they've never asked. They have checked to see if my name is on a list, although I don't remember them doing that last year.

Have a wonderful time! We love CP!

Thank you all for your replies. I was planning to pick up a B-day pin the day before our CP breakfast. My friend's DD will be turning 17 on that day. She has no idea where we are eating.......she has never been to a Character breakfast.

How early do you advise getting to the MK parking lot? If you have an 8:05 a.m. ADR for CP, you will be let in to MK at 8:00 a.m., right? So what time should you be boarding the monorail, 7:30 a.m.? Should you try to get to the parking lot at 7:00 a.m., at 7:15 a.m.??? Trying to figure out the timing of things is the most challenging part for me, because everything seems to take a little longer than I think!!!

Much thanks! :daisy:

To the OP, sorry if I am highjacking your thread a little!

I would say around 7-7:15 is fine. You will have to walk from the parking lot (or take the tram) to the TTC and then walk to the monorail, wait for the next monorail to arrive and then it will stop twice before getting to MK. I would think 7:15 would be plenty of time. That early you will have nice close parking so you will be right there, the monorail should not take that long to arrive and I would expect it will only be at the resorts for a few minutes to load. Just make sure you talk to the CM's at the monorail to make sure they are stopping at MK. Sometimes they have been known to pass through the MK station until 7:30/7:45... And you are correct they will not be let in until 8am anyway.
