Cozumel is our first port on our upcoming cruise. We don't plan on doing any excursions there but I know my wife is going to be looking to get off the ship for a bit. Usually, there always seems to be a Senor Frogs right at whatever our first port is, so that is where we usually end up for a couple of apps and a drink or 2. We don't look to go to SF, it just happens to be the closest thing. When the Fantasy is in Cozumel, which is closer to the pier, Margaritaville or Senor Frogs? Is the one that is farther better than the one that is closer? Is there somewhere else at the pier or at least a short walk from the pier that is worth going to over Margaritaville or Senor Frogs?

It is just my wife and I (both late 20's), no kids.

Any input is appreciated. TIA! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

We went to Margaritaville when we were in Cozumel, and it was the best food we have ever eaten! That was a year and a half ago and we still talk about the delicious food we had there and how no Mexican restaurants at home even compare. We did not look for any other place to eat so I cannot speak as to which is closer to the pier. The atmosphere at the restaurant was so much fun as well, different from other Margaritavilles we had been to........live music, dancing, audience participation.......lots of fun. There was outdoor fun as well with beach and ocean activities. I don't think you would be disappointed if you made it a point to visit this location! Happy cruising!

Hehe... :rotfl2:

Usually, where there is a Senor Frogs, announcements can be heard:
'Paging So-and-So. So-and-so, please call Guest Services' for about 40 min after the ship sets sail...ESPECIALLY at Cozumel...

Is Margaritaville ok to bring an 8 and 10 year old?

The few I've been to are fine for families during the day, typical themed bar & grill. Sandwiches, televisions, Gift shop for tshirts or other logo merchandise. I've not been to one late, but that's probably not an issue unless you miss your departure.

We took the whole family to the Margaritaville in Grand Cayman. They had a pool & a water slide. We sat & had a couple drinks while the kids had a blast! Very kid friendly. (At least that one was that day :) )

We went to the one in Grand Cayman, as well and it was fun family time.
Cozumel is also pretty kid friendly. We had a 10,8 &6 year old boys this past June and they had a pool (small) in the back. They also had a section of the ocean roped off where you could swim or they had a rock wall water climbing thingy. They also had life vests available. We had a wonderful afternoon there with our family!!
My vote is Margaritaville with kids, Señor Frogs just the two of you :-)

My only Margaritaville experience was at the one at Mohegan Sun, for lunch one day. It didn't have any live music or anything like that. My dad and I were the only ones in the restaurant when we ate. I'm glad to hear that that's not the norm, at least not in the Carib.

Any reason why Senor Frogs over Margaritaville if it's just the 2 of us? Is SF just adult friendlier than Margaritaville? We don't mind much if we are around families, after all, we are 2 adults going on DCL without kids :rotfl2: Or is there another reason why?

Would love to hear anything else from anyone that has been to either or both. :thumbsup2

I say Margaritaville, but I'm a big Buffett fan. It is a cool place in Cozumel though, we sat out by the water. There were some inflatables in the water for people who wanted to swim, we didn't use them. The wings are good.

Went to Margaritaville in Nov for luch. The food was good and the platio was full.
On our way back to the ship we walked into Señor Frogs and it was dead.

In Cozumel I vote for Senor Frogs, but then again I am a little biased due to that I have friends that work in that one - lol

My only experience at Senor Frog's was on my honeymoon :) there was a lot of whistle blowing and shot drinking, lol. I honestly do not remember children there, but there may have been. I think you would have a wonderful time at Margaritaville, too!
