Covid Comeback?

I was just at the bank doing a currency exchange and there was a woman in line behind me that was standing pretty close to me. When she gets to the teller, she loudly proclaims that she has Covid. She wasn't wearing a mask either. So if I get Covid soon, I'll be sure to thank that lady breathing on my neck 🙄

Everyone in the bank called her out for being there when she knew she had Covid and the staff went into full disinfect mode but that was just so ridiculous.

That is ridiculous. It's one thing to be asymptomatic and not know; but to be out in public and just announce that you are CV+? What the heck?? 😡

So apparently my boss (big boss) had COVID starting last week. We were all in a meeting on Thursday and she seemed perfect. On Friday during another meeting (virtual thank God) she sounded like she had been hit by a train. I've never seen someone get sick so fast. She had to have been symptomatic at some point on Thursday. She never told anyone she had COVID. She came into work yesterday and apparently had various closed-door meetings with people--no mask. We only know she had COVID and did this because her assistant mentioned it after I asked how she was feeling (I had an in person meeting with her this morning). He rolled his eyes, said she'd been meeting people unmasked. Fortunately, my meeting got cancelled. I just don't understand people AT ALL.

I traveled out-of-state for a funeral last weekend and saw several family members that I haven't seen since before the pandemic. Three or four mentioned specifically that they were now suffering from long-term problems that is believed to be covid-related. One of them was even hospitalized twice and experienced a collapsed lung, forcing him to retire. I doubt any of them were vaccinated. The symptoms may be flu-like, but the damage it's done to some people is much more extensive and still lingering.

yes...sitting here with it this week. Took the home test Wednesday: positive. The initial symptoms were just sinus related, and where we live has such bad pollen, and has had bad air quality, I just thought it was the usual sinus issues related to those, but the fatigue was extreme. I think what convinced me to take the test was that my morning coffee wasn't tasting right, and some other food. and the fatigue. Anyway, I think I got it from my son who was visiting, and had brought it, but not totally sure. Knock on wood, nobody else in the household has it, and I didn't spread it to relatives we visited before I had any symptoms/knew I had anything. I think I"m going to have to miss another work day today though. I do customer service, fatigue still very bad, and the coughing has picked up, and throat very sore, so it's hard to be on a live call with all of that. Hopefully will be all gone by the weekend.

I got it likely from a cruise a few weeks ago. The worrisome part was no sense of smell or taste for days. Everything tasted like cardboard. It worked its way through my body and once I met the criteria, I got a Covid vaccine shot.

It hit me fast, too. Sunday last week I had a slight cough. Monday morning started with still just a bit of a cough, but by Monday afternoon my entire body hurt (every muscle and joint ached so badly) and I had a fever. Luckily Mondays are my usual work from home days, and then I stayed home the rest of the week.

Hope you got over it quickly. My parents did fine. Well my dad did. My mom, is almost 3 weeks post infection and is going to an ENT today because her right ear is totally blocked. This is the same thing that happened to me on my 2021 infection and my ear still is not right. I can't wait to hear what they say.

Even just by that Tuesday morning I was starting to feel better. I'm down to just a lingering cough now.

I have tinnitus from my first bout with Covid. My hearing cleared, but I still having ringing 24/7. I hope your mom is ok!

I'm the type that gets sick when ever I travel. I've gotten Covid three times during Disney vacations. The last two times weren't horrible, but I was sick enough to where the final days of those trips were ruined. The only times I haven't gotten sick was when I wore a mask for the majority of my vacations (including during the flights to destination). Unfortunately these days I feel rather self conscious wearing a mask, but it's the only way to ensure I won't be in my hotel room for the last two to three days of a very expensive vacation.

Turns out her right ear is just "shut down." Basically I guess just eustachian tube dysfunction but no fluid in the ear. So she's on steroids. I had all that too but nothing worked for me. I also have the persistent tinnitus.

Went to Disney last week and I have Covid. Third time, Disney has been the source 2 times. My first experience with Covid, I lost 50% of my hearing in one of my ears. This time has been very mild, but I rest and don't push things. Thank goodness for the Olympics!! No one else caught it, which is surprising because we shared food, drinks. I stay home, but I have not masked around my family. Last time I somehow got Covid and DH did not- maybe he just is more immune??

DH knows several people who have gotten Covid after traveling the last few weeks. One person was hospitalized, so it can still be bad for some people.

what i think is rather strange is that the several people I ve seen still with masks wear them below the nose or worse yet below the chin
dont they realize that the masks dont do anyone any good unless they wear them the right way
like below the chin what good does that do at all
absolutely none
and they act like look what a good thing Im doing
