Covid Comeback?

I thought I had Covid because I've felt awful for two days now-chest congested, stuffy nose, bad cough, and a fever. Went to urgent care and it's RSV. My little godson is in kindergarten and came home with what must have been it but he was only sick for a few days. Turns out there's no treatment for it per se except cold medicine, so I'm pumped up to the gills with that plus Mucinex. I was told to watch for a very high fever and breathing problems, but otherwise to not go to the hospital.

I think this is what I had back in May. I was really congested and had a really bad cough. I hurt my ribs from coughing so much. I tested a few times for covid and was negative every time. I thought for sure it was covid. Thinking back, I think it may have been RSV.

Well, I went to the hospital. I was having a hard time getting a deep breath, especially when I had a coughing fit. My cousin is an EMT and she looked me over, listened to my lungs and took my pulse/ox or whatever you call it. She recommended that I go, and I listen to her. I have pneumonia. They didn't keep me in the hospital, but sent me home with an oxygen tank which I used for about a week. I used over-the-counter medications and had to sleep sitting up.

I'm still coughing a lot but it's 'productive' now and today is the first day I felt well enough to sit at my desk for a while. I feel weak as a kitten, though. RSV in adults is no joke.

Being a senior citizen, I had the RSV vaccination last fall. I think it's a one time thing. I have an appt for my covid and flu shots in Oct. Fun times!
