So has anyone NOT been able to get the dates they wanted? I am still trying to decide but I don't want to take too long :D

I haven't heard that anyone HAS been shut out yet. But I am in the same boat as you are WDWorBUST, and I hope that they will be there when I finally make that call...

How do you resist that rate? I really want to go....my dilemma is I'll be 7 months pregnant. But I would really like to get that one last trip in with DH. It used to be "one more trip to Disney and then we can have a baby" because I couldn't bear missing RNRC and TOT and such. Now I just want to experience the magic at a much slower pace. Oh well....hopefully we can decide before it's too late if it's a yes

I too am sitting here at work thinking how can you pass up a rate like that to be that close to Disney? I stayed at that hotel back in the mid 80's when it was the Howard Johnson's, nice hotel, no problems, nice pool, had a tower room, nice view, I just don't know about the busses from those hotels to the parks? Guess I could rent a car this time but funds are limited. Guess I'm trying to talk myself into just calling and booking the room and figuring out how to get there later. I would sure hate to miss that rate for procrasinating on my decision. Ok, all you disney addicts out there (including myself of course) talk my into calling that numer today and getting that room.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Donna

Donna -
I have never stayed there myself but I have heard good things about the buses....and Downtown is definitely within walking distance to catch buses there. I say GO FOR IT!!

Amanda

It is not the bus service that has be concerned. It would me the car trip down!!! ! We have never driven, but would be the only way that we could go, and I just don't know if I could survive it!

I think that I will call this afternoon to see if my dates are still available. ;)

WDWorBUST! I say "Go for it!" You should be still feeling pretty good at 7 months. And just take your time. Take park breaks and take advantage of that $20.03 room! ;)

I just booked 5 nights 9/21-9/26. Only $111.70 total for 5 nights. We were originally planning an October trip, but I couldn't pass up the deal!!

BethR,
We are from Pittsburgh also! We have decided to drive down in August to take advantage of the great rate. Right now, we are debating driving straight through or stopping overnight on the way down. I think it should take about 17 hours or so from our area, based on what I've heard so far. I say - go for it! :teeth:

Donna,

When I called today (Got 8/31 - 9/3....Now I've decided to CB tomorrow & get Wed. & Thurs. nite too), Christi told me that their buses run every 1/2 hour to Disney, so I wouldn't be worried about that..........Go for it!!!!!!!!

She also said that they haven't advertised this, but they're getting lots of calls from people thru the Internet--Looks like the hotel will be full of DISers! We should have a meet---Anyone going Labor Day week?

Hi thelk4!

We ARE going!!! :teeth: But we are flying. Just could not bear to think of being in the car for that long with ANYONE - let alone my moody DDs.
I priced things out and taking our tax refund, adding a little other money that we had, and then subtracting room, air, tickets, rental car, and parking - we will still have $400 to eat! WOO HOO!
We'll be there August 15-22. :)

BethR: glad you're going to be there! DH and I are checking in on the 17th, and staying until Friday am. Hope to see you, perhaps at the manager's reception during the afternoon monsoons! LOL

Don't know if we really ARE invited to the manager's reception dgaston, but no matter. We will meet up! We'll just make plans. :)

Beth, the Manager's reception is for everyone in the hotel. It happens every day, and the managers "serve" the guests-beer, wine, popcorn and tortillia chips. It's a blast, and the people at Courtyard really are friendly and make a point of knowing their guests. I'm not sure who is there the same time we are (17-23), but I think I'll see if I can find some lime green ribbon...or I could just wear my lime green Mickey shirt every day for a week! :p

Hey, I just checked we're there at the same time. Cool! We're the motley group. Mom, 2 jumping, singing daughters and maybe the sour teenager boy. Another mom and her happy, silly teenager boy. Mom, Dad, DD and DS~ HIM you'll see and hear! ;)

Gosh Debbie! That sounds really nice! I guess I just don't want to EXPECT too much from my $20.03. ;)
We will have to get together with dgaston.
We will be the family - 1 middle-aged bald man escorting 5 women varying in ages from 43 (I'll be 44 while at WDW! :teeth: ) to 10. Probably will notice the group bickering almost anywhere you see them. And we get along better at WDW than anyplace else.

:)

Disnee Dad Says................................We stayed there in 2001.
It's pretty nice, not great. Indoor corridors keep it kinda quiet, un less they run the vaccum cleaner at midnight! It's like a giant echo chamber. The busses run every 30 minutes which we did not like, we are spoiled. You miss it by two minutes and it will be 28 minutes till the next bus. Had a car so only used it twice, to go to F&W festival to eat and drink around the world. Just in case we decided to drink and drink around the world!!!
DD is close by, to get good transportation! Nice size room and good breakfast in the morning for about $6.00.
I think you all will be pleased by this bargain!

Called today to get Monday, June 9 and they said they were sold out for the $20.03 rate. Offered $79 but I'll shop around and see what else I can find for a decent rate. If nothing else, I'll do priceline!!! :(

$20.03 rate is good Aug 10 - Oct 2. I think there is some kind of $25.00 rate out for aonther timeframe...

BethR and Debbie:

We'll be the ones without our teenage kids! DH is graying, about 6'2", and I'm the former redhead (now more strawberry blond) pooh-sized. We're planning on a Keys to the Kingdom tour (date unknown yet) e-night Tuesday if held, and Mickey's Backyard Barbeque on Thursday. Last year we found ourselves at the manager's reception more than we thought! We had a great time. Looking forward to August. I'll get to change my counter!!!

Taking my niece and her family. It's the kids' first trip to WDW and I wanted to let them stay on site. I was going to book at All-Stars (2 rooms), but saw the Marriott rate and was trying to decide whether to take that instead.

Well I waited too long. Wanted 9/20-27. Would pay AAA for the Sat. & Fri. nights. But they were sold out of the 20.03 rate for 9/22 (Mon.) and 9/24 (Wed.).

So I think I'm back to the AS unless something else pops up.

That's what I get for thinking too long :)
Terri

I'm sorry you're bummed about missing the rate - it was incredible we'll be there the first week in September on that rate. HOWEVER - I think you'll be glad that you stayed onsite for their first trip. We have friends going with us that have never been - well she was there when she was 13...a lot of things have changed and her family stayed offsite then - and I'm kind of sad for their sake we aren't staying onsite....but that incredible rate is part of the reason we are going on this spur of the moment (for us anyway) trip. Since you were planning on going anyway I'll just keep my fingers crossed you get a great $49 or $55 rate at the All Stars :D
