I know the DD hotels have their own shuttles to the park, Does anyone know if they drop you off right in front where the Disney Resort buses do? Also, Could you just walk to Downtown Disney and then take the Disney buses to the parks and the resorts to eat and such? Thanks!

The buses pick you up right in front of the main lobby of the hotel and drops you off in the same places at all the parks as does the Disney Resort buses. Not only is Downtown Disney within walking distance, but also a shopping plaza called Crossroads. This plaza has a grocery store, restaurants, and retail stores. We have stayed at the Courtyard many times before and love it.

Thanks! It'll be our first time there but I couldn't pass up that great $25 deal. Can you take the Disney Resort Buses at DD to get to the resorts and such? How is the hotel pool and such?

I have never taken the buses from DD to other resorts, but I don't see why not. You are given a bus pass at the hotel when you check in and it shows that you are staying on property. I have never been asked by anyone to see my bus pass so I imagine it shouldn't be a problem. As for the pools, they have two adult pools, one chilren's pool and a jacuzzi. They are right outside the lobby door, not a far walk at all. May I ask when are you going to be there? My husband, daughter, and myself will be there from September 23 thru October 6.

We will be there for a short trip 8/28-8/29 then we move over to the Dolphin for one free night 8/30. My husband, DS8, DD4 and myself, are looking forward to a last summer fun mini-trip (we went over spring break). 3 nights on-site for $55 just couldn't be beat. Thanks for all the great info!

what restaurants are within walking distance? we're thinking of dividing our stay between this place and the Poly, any ideas on how to get our bags from one place to the other withour a car?

The only way of transportation I could think of is to take a cab or take the Disney bus from the Poly to Downtown Disney and walk to your hotel. There are the DD restaurants: Planet Hollywood, House of Blues, Wolf Gang Puck's, Bongo's, Fulton's Crab House, & Rain Forest Cafe. At the opposite end of Hotel Plaza Blvd, there is Crossroads shopping center. There are a few Restaurants there. There is Chevy's, Uno's, Jungle Jim's, & Pebble's. We love Pebble's and Jungle Jims is an animal themed restaurant with ok food and fun atmosphere.

We just got back from the Courtyard and LOVED IT! The hotel was clean and very friendly. My son is eight and loved the pool and game room, though I thought it to be a little small. The service was great all around including the bus transportation. We would go back to this hotel in the future. I got a beautiful car from Dollar with the entertain discount. So if you might want to rent a car, I would check into them. It was 164.00 for the week that included all the taxes. I got an intermediate sized car.

It's great to hear such nice things about the hotel. How was transportation back from the parks? And how did you get from park to park?

Thanks for the thumbs up on the CYM DTD! I too am taking advantage of the $25.00 deal. it's even better then the $25.00 priceline BW DTD deal because there isn't the $5.95 priceline fee. Just can't beat it!

We just got back from the Courtyard. We had rooms(connecting) on the 12 th floor overlooking Downtown Disney and
the Magic Kingdom fireworks. We got the 20.02 deal and believe me, it is a deal. The hotel is older--but, the rooms are clean, the
pool area is nice, and the staff is super friendly. You can tell that the Marriott is really trying to build up this place. Free wine, beer,
pop and snacks from 4-6pm. We took the bus 1 day and waited no more than 10 min. for the return at the park. Very large, comfy bus--that can hold many sitting and standing. Our main
purpose for the hotel is sleeping and showering. For this price, we got more than we bargained for!!! Thumbs up!!!

:D I just wanted to thank you all so much for the positive reports on this resort. My hubby and I are going there in less than two weeks and I am really getting excited now that I have heard good things about it. I also want to thank you for making me feel welcome on your site. Wishing you all a great weekend.:earsgirl:

:D We check in Sept. 1 and check out Sept 6th....It will just be myself and my hubby as well. We usually hit the spa/whirlpool every night. Will keep an eye out for you. Look for the happy middle aged couple.LOl......;) My hubby has silver hair.

Lou-Ann you should fax or email the hotel with your room request. They seem like they really try to honor guests wishes. I read some place that said you need a room on the 7th floor or higher to get a good view. Have fun!!

:D Thank you so much. Will do that. Hope we get to see you and your spouse there.

Wow do they do this every day? What a deal.

It is so great to hear all the great reviews on the CM at DD. I too got in on the $25 a night for a week the end of Sep. I booked 2 rooms 1 for my adult children, I feel this is a deal that can't be beat, especially in DD. Reading all of these posts now i can't wait. I requsested a room too on the upper floors overlooking DD with connecting rooms. I'm hoping they honor my request.

theres a chance I may go to Dis around 6-13 & was wondering about the Courtyard & that good rate.. sounds like its worth it!
maybe onsite a few days & Courtyard a few days.

Wow! I am so glad I woke up this morning and read these boards. I could not pass up that $20.02 offer. I am taking my 2 sons, ages 7 76. Feel a little guilty not bringing DD-4. Although a trip to Shop Rite w/ the 3 of the the other night cured my guilt!!

Anyway, re: room request, is there a specific location or room # that is suggested to request for prime viewing?

We will have a car. In the past staying on property I recall getting a parking pass for the car that enabled me to park at the parks without paying. Would the Marriott be a part of that? I am not sure if that is for all _on property Disney resorts, or just DVC.

Let me get this straight re: bus transportation-the bus brings you right to MK, not the ticket , transfer & transportation station of MK? If so, I may leave the car at home!!!

P.S.-What part of NY are you from--I thought you were from the midwest w/ the "pop" reference? (Imean that in a nice way-Please do not be offended. Unfortunately you cannot hear tone of voice on these discussions!)
