This poor girl has been in and out of rehab. Her life was totally out of control. I feel bad for her 2 boys. Very sad.

Sad, but I'm not surprised. Poor boys. Her youngest is 9 months old.

I have felt sorry for the little boys for a long time. From what news reports have been out there, I don't think she was anywhere near a stable influence in their lives.
From a few articles since her dh's death, it appears there is speculation on exactly how he passed away. IMHO, she was very mentally ill if the news stories are to be believed

I hope for peace for her family at this time. And many hugs for those little ones.

Well - another high profile case that shows our mental health system needs an overhaul. If they let her out and she wasn't stable - that is really, really a tragedy for her two boys who deserved to know their mother someday in some fashion.

Now, the little one has at least lost two parents... I can't remember - are those twins or does she have one little and one big one?

I think the whole 'twin' thing is where I realized how unstable she was. I read that she announced she was having twins, went on tv or something. Then gave birth to one child. The only story I heard before this one is the oldest child lived with her family and there were ongoing court battles as they were trying to prove she wasn't stable enough to parent him.

I agree about the state of our mental health. Its frightening.

She was only there for 1 day I read a couple of days ago she was supposed to be committed for 3weeks. That;s the only reason i was surprised she was out when shot herself.

If i remember correctly, I think her older boy has a different father than her youngest. And that father is still living

OMG that is just awful. I have not been following it that closely.

Her father is going to blame himself, but leaving her in Arkansas to go back to Florida 48 hours after her discharge... with access to a gun was dumb. That was not OK. She should have been with someone who could take care of her and readmit her. Everyone in the world knew she was very sick and unstable.
She was probably in good spirits because she had an accessible, easy plan that seemed achievable when he was leaving that day! He says in the linked article that she was in "Good spirits" when he left that am. Then she shot herself and the dog.
Sometimes, suicidal people do have elation or sudden peace / calm right before an attempt because they feel relief that they will be able to try for suicide. So sad.

I had a feeling it was by her own hand, but hadnt heard it was true,then take her dog out,good grief. Maybe in her own mind she was worried what would happen to her dog when she was gone, but dang.

Unless he is a bigger wreck than she was - there has to be a good reason as to why his kid is being placed in a kinship situation with the state and not with him. What a mess.

Honestly, I don't know much either, I don't follow country music or many celebrety stories. I remember reading an interview with her when she was batteling her parents for custody and she sounded somewhat 'normal' for lack of a better word. Then I saw some show, and wow..she did not come across as being in a good place mentally.

Its very sad. All of it, the people left behind, the people suffering. The children. Terribly sad.
