Counting Our Nuts Like Chip & Dale, a Financially Aware PTR *Update 4/17 Pg 62 *

I count hair appointments until Disney too, but considering I have far more hair appointments then you, it takes me much closer to my trip before I can say "only two to go".

Love tevas!

I love this board! We're making a huge foam board for a two year old with a the colorful park maps and a big pic by each of like the Castle and SSE. Plus were going to scan and reprint a ton of our old Disney pics to put around it, so she can see us doing some of the rides. I hadn't thought of adding a count down to it. :thumbsup2

I think you should, they are a fun little touch!!

Yes but doesn't your boyfriend have the dog that acts like a cat? I think I saw that on facebook. Or am I thinking of someone else?

I'm definitely going to get them! I feel like my hair just is NOT growing (but I can't tell b/c it's too hot for me to wear it down) so once I feel like it's long enough and I can handle wearing it down, I'm totally getting feathers!

No, you're thinking of him! The dog that acts like a cat curls up on a little pillow in front of the window and just naps or watches out the window. AND every time I sit down he's rubbing up against my legs. I'm really evil, but it seriously NEVER fails to amuse me that my cat-hating boyfriend got a dog that acts more like a cat than a dog. :lmao:

Love your hair!! I'm definitely not brave enough to do it, but looks fabulous!!!!

Favorite Tomorrowland ride...hmmmmm...that's a toughie...I think I'll have to go with It's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow...COP for me!!

My hair grows at the pace of snails. Seriously. So freaking slow but I guess financially that is a good thing.

I really love our countdown. It brings some spunk to our living room!

:lmao: I really like that he has the dog/cat too. :rotfl2: I think you need to post some video so I can see this dog/cat in action.

Oh you should do it!! I bet your school kids would love them. :lmao:

It's great that you guys like People Mover and CoP because when you have kiddos...they are great rides to have everyone sit down and relax for a little bit :thumbsup2

I guess my favorite attraction will have to be Buzz as of now, only because we only did Buzz, Monster's inc and Stitch in Tomorrowland on our trip. That will change with our upcoming trip.

I love your cats, Sulley is too cute.

Great idea for the Disney music, I've been looking for some on Itunes, but what's there isn't great. I always have Dcot or disradio on during the day. I love me some Disney music and secretly I'm hoping it rubs off on Lia and turns her into a Disney addict.

Can't wait for your next installment.

I have been debating my favorite Tommorrowland attraction for a while now. I think that as much as I enjoy CoP (that song!), I will go with the PeopleMover! I just love the views you get from up there and it's about as close as I will get to the inside of Space Mountain!!!

Your kitties are so cute! I love their names too! When DD10 was DD2, she was in love with Monsters Inc. and we did her whole b-day in that theme. She got a big stuffed Sully (among other things) and that was her best friend for a year!

Sounds good to me. :thumbsup2

I agree, itunes doesn't have a great selection. I hope your disney music rubs off on Lia.

Sully was named after Monster's Inc Sully because when he was a kitten his fur stuck up exactly how Sully's does in the movie. My dad still maintains to this day I named him Sully after Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman since I had a crush on Sully when I was little. Not quite right, Dad! :rotfl2:

What cute fur babies you have!:cutie:

Congrats to you for getting music from the library! :thumbsup2 That is totally something that I would do. When you have kids, it's a great way to 'rent' movies for them as well. Then if they really like it, you can buy it, but you won't waste you money on a dud.

HI! I'm poking my head in, I've just read your PTR and really enjoyed it. My fav from Tomorrowland has to be Space Mountain, as I've a speed junkie!

Looks like you're going to a great time!

PS Sully is so cute.

I've been trying to get movies more often from the library too, it actually suprises me how many new-er releases they have. I just need to get in better practice with it. We are canceling our Starz movie program once this season of Dexter is over and then we will just add it when Dexter starts again. I have to watch Dexter, it is non-neogotiable. :lmao:

Thanks for joining in!! It will be a fantastic trip, now if time could only speed up a little faster.

Did you all see that Disney released Free Dining yesterday?

Did you all experience the DIS crashing because of the Free Dining activity?

Did you all remember that we are renting DVC points and therefore are ineligible for Free Dining?

Or are we?

:rolleyes1

Let's go back, shall we?

Once upon a time, Leslie was sitting on her computer on her Facebook page....Tuesday August 2nd to be exact.

On her Facebook page she saw that her friend Brook posted a rumor that Disney was releasing a Free Dining promotion the very next morning.

Leslie looked at the dates and asked Brook a question. "If you check in before Free Dining expires, can you get it for the length of your stay?" Brook answered, "Why yes Leslie" or something to that effect.

Being the good wife that she is, Leslie felt it her duty to tell her husband this. Marc was intrigued as he knew that Leslie wanted to add nights, that it was her one true desire for this trip as she thinks 5 nights is way too short to spend in Disney.

Marc said, "Crunch the numbers" and being the good wife she is, Leslie crunched the numbers and presented the totals to her husband. Leslie asked Brook a few more questions and Leslie presented the details to Marc.

For exactly $718.34, 3 nights at Pop Century, with 2 2-day Base Tickets and FREE dining could be secured. Marc said, "I think that is a fine deal wife, let's book it." Or something to that effect.

Leslie emailed Brook and went to bed with visions of free corn dog nuggets, cream cheese pretzels and slushie cokes dancing in her head.

Leslie checked her email about 50 million times in the morning, she couldn't log on to the DIS either, apparently the boards couldn't handle all the free dining activity! What is a girl to do? Check her email and the DIS boards compulsively until something happens.

Which is what she did. Until...there was an email from Brook! Yay! Free Dining is booked!! Three extra nights at Pop Century!!

The End.

;)

You know, I have to say that Marc is an out of the closet Disney Lover! I mentioned the free dining in passing, as I mention all deals like that to Marc and he was the one who totally jumped on board. I actually couldn't believe it. We have been trying to figure out how to add on a few nights, like 2 or even 1 but flights are ridiculous MLK weekend so we had put that idea on the back burner because increase in flights plus hotel...ehh not so financially aware.

I even offered to take one of our nights OFF of our AKV reservation so that we would technically only be adding two nights but nope, Marc said for the amount we are paying to rent points let's have an extra night. Who am I to argue with that logic?

So the package is costing us $718.34 but if my math is correct, we are only adding about $360ish to our total cost of vacation. Our food is free for those nights, we are getting the quick service dining plan, our park ticket increase is minimal and the two day base tickets that we were already going to have to purchase, we are just paying for two days upfront and we will upgrade them when we arrive in Disney. We will not need to purchase much if any additional food with the quick service plan, we can split counter service if need be to save our credits, not that I think we will be short on them.

I am seriously happy that we are adding nights at a very minimal cost and even better is that the Thursday flights are cheaper than they would be on Sunday!

New dates:
Thursday Jan 12 - Sunday Jan 15: Pop Century
Sunday Jan 15 - Friday Jan 20: Animal Kingdom Villas!

The moral of this fairy tale...ALWAYS tell your husband about Disney deals.

Congratulations!! My DH is actually the one who suggested our upcoming trip in January. Love those Disney men!! :rotfl:

Great news! Congratulations! :woohoo:

Not to be a pest or anything but you posted Tuesday August 9th in your post and that day hasn't happened yet :rotfl:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: So glad you got in on the FD deal! I  FD..... I may be slightly obsessed with FD. :rolleyes1

I am excited for you, but at the same time, I feel for you for having to go back to the drawing board for park days, where to eat, etc. The drama never ends!

Congratulations on increasing your days!!!! That is awesome!! And what a deal on FD!!!!!

Yeah for free dining. Your reasoning is superb and I'll have to try it on my husband. I've been dropping hints about next September. I've secretly booked Sept 29th to Oct 8th at Pop with the free QSDP hoping I can convince him by then. I know I can always cancel and get my deposit back if all else fails.
