Counting down to May 25, 2002!

Hey Allison,

As far as I know there is one formal night and one semi-formal night on the 7 day cruise. If you go to Palos then I think that is kind of formal too. The rest of the cruise is pretty casual except at dinner you are not suppose to wear shorts or jeans, but rather khakis or pant suits. We will also be at the Radisson. I think some people are bringing lime green ribbon for us DISers, but you might want to find your own. That identifies as disney board people. See you at the Radisson! Only 18 more days and counting!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Jeanne. So I guess it would be possible to miss the formal night if you were scheduled for Palo's for that evening. Also, how dressed up do you think the kids need to be? Does my 4-year-old son need a jacket?

It's getting hard to focus on anything but this cruise!
Allison.

Allison,

I know what you mean, but I have hardly been able to focus on anything, but this cruise since I booked it. I think that my family will be happy to take it and get it over with if it will stop me from talking about it all the time.

Yeah, I would not think that you would need more than one formal dress, even if you did wear it to Palos one night and to formal night, who would really know but you. My kids, I just basically thought that church clothes would do it for them. I do not even know if they will be with us on formal night as I have heard these kids love the kids programs and do not want to come out, but I will have to see.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

The way I pack for the formal nights is to pack one floor length black skirt and two different kinds of tops- These outfits look very nice and I do not feel under dressed with DH in a tux. My DD-10 will be wearing a floor length black skirt with nice top and a really nice black and white dress the other night. I do know that SIL, bbethparsons bought her DS a tux online that really is nice. A jacket would be fine a little one or even a nice shirt/tie with dress pants.

We will all be meeting around the pool on Friday evening to let the kids get to know each other and swim. Look forward to meeting up with everyone!

Callahanjulie10 - sorry to jump here but I wanted to let you know that we will be on the 5/25 sailing too - me, DW, DS8, DD4 are so excited! Please add our kids to the list. We are also staying at the Raddison Friday evening although we probably won't arrive until late in the evening (driving in from GA.). Can't wait!!!

Other than the one at the Radisson? Or do I need to read back through that 8-pg thread (quite the accomplishment I must add)?

We'll be at the Hyatt the night before but we're flying in late :(

Pug-

I think that we had said maybe in the port while we were waiting to board the ship?... I think. Wear you green ribbon- I am sure that there will be a meeting set by then- I would prefer not having it the afternoon that we board since there is usually so much excitment and other family stuff going on! I hope that I can remember some ribbon- I still haven't gotten any. The time is just flying by--I can't wait

Hello and Welcome aboard. My family and I too will be cruising. Callahanjulie10 is my Sis-in-law. I too have an 8 year old cruising. However, I have a girl. Her name is Emily. She doesn't have any friends that are in the 8 and 9 year old group that she knows of. My son is 11 and he has lots of friends that he has been e-mailing that are cruising with us. Please have your son e-mail my daughter at my address of bbethparsons@aol.com or Emily at westbaygal@aol.com. By the way, did you book through Dreams Unlimited? Let us know! Thanks!

The only lime green ribbon that I found, was curling ribbon....It is what I used last year, and it was fine. I will bring my huge roll, and if anyone needs some, come and find me. I will be with my DAD and Daughter poolside, at the Radisson, Friday nite. Bring a lot of safety pins, because you could tie the ribbon to the safety pin before wearing it....
Take care. I am counting down...

Thanks for putting the list together, I have one correction - should be DS8 and DD4. We are from Acworth (suburban Atlanta) GA. :D

Hi everyone. I've got a couple of questions for the veteran cruisers out there:

How does the boarding process work? Is it a mad rush of people all trying to get on first? Once you get on the ship, how long are the lines for making reservations at Palo and the spa?

Also, does anyone know how the shuttle service from the Radisson works? Do we have to sign up for a particular shuttle time?

Thanks!

Allison.
