Could this possibly be true?

I remember when they were interviewing for new members last year and tons of DISers like you were trying. I'm NOT happy that this ill-informed Maribel chick got the "job" when missing this question has GOT to be Disney ticket info 101!!!! :sad2: I doubt one of my fellow DISers would make such an amateur mistake! Best of luck next time. BTW, good eye, OP!

Yes, lots of us tried and a few got in. I am excited for them and who knows, maybe someday. Thanks for the wishes!

I wish there was a way to comment on the "mom"'s answers.

Also, anyone find this insulting? There are at least two men who answer questions. I hate this. This happens when I used to go to dance meetings or PTA meetings. "OK moms!' "OK ladies!" Hello... THERE'S A GUY PRESENT!

Sorry that was.... :offtopic:

I sent her a message by asking her a question. I asked her to correct her answer because this woman was going to be upset when she tried to hop without the park hopper and would not be allowed to do so. I reminded her that it would defeat the purpose of the hopper option.

Better yet, I wish I could send a message to Brooke, the woman who asked the question. That way, we could save her the headache later.

I have a great, supportive DH who often goes to things when we are double booked and I love when I am in charge of something and the dads are there. I make a point to say moms and dads. I want them to feel very welcome because I know it must be hard enough to be the only man at, in my case usually, a Girl Scout meeting.

I used the "Contact Us" on the web site to complain about that answer -- and suggest that someone at Disney needs to fact-check all the Mom's Panel answers (that's not the only question I've seen with a wrong answer.) I'm not sure it will get to anyone who cares, but I tried.

 My DH was the only guy picking up DD at one of her dance rehearsals on Super Bowl Sunday evening. All the moms were asking questions and just in general chatting with the team director about the girls' upcoming competition, and finally, DH goes, "HELLO, SUPER BOWL! Time to wrap it up!" All the ladies were laughing. He gets to be "that guy" a lot, and I love him so much for it!

We had to cancel 2 meal because we too were told we can use the extra tickets for the same day. Well, we go to the park and we were told your tickets are one day passes.
I was sooo upset!! Not only were my kids now satrving I had to get back on a bus with a screaming child.
If you want to go to two differnt parks in one day the only way to do it is to get hopper passes. I paid for 4 extra days x 4 people.

I contacted them as well. I hope somehow they get the correct information to Brooke.

I am amazed and disturbed by the misinformation coming out of the Disney Mom's panel :furious: There is no excuse for such a blatantly wrong answer  Without park hoppers, one ticket per day = one park per day

"hi! We have a vacation planned for october/november 2010. My travel agent told me to book the 8-day tickets instead of the 5-day tickets. She said we could use the extra days to enter more than one park per day. Is that true?

hi brooke!
I think your travel agent is right. When you have an 8-day magic your way base ticket you can enter one theme park per day. But, if you're going to visit wdw for 5 days, you can use the 3 extra days to enter two theme parks in one day. However, keep in mind that every park you enter in one day will mean you have used one day for every different park. For example, if you go to magic kingdom in the morning and disney's hollywood studios in the evening, you will have used two days of your magic your way ticket.
Have a magical vacation!"

:confused3

i just found this on the mom's panel on the disney site. Wouldn't this kind of nullify the whole ph concept? Anyway, i wanted to check to see if the wise dis'ers know anything about this and if it could possibly be true?:confused3

fail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the agent is very wrong, and should be told that she is wrong!!! I have heard stories of people complaining to guest relations because their TA told them the same thing, or told them that the monorail goes to every single disney resort and park!! My friends mom was told my a TA that if she stayed on property she would get front of the line access to every line, and you can enter every park an hour before it opens to the public. Boy was she suprised. TA's should really do their homework before giving people false information!

That's what I was thinking. I wasn't picked for the panel but even I knew the answer to that!

^^^ How exactly where these moms picked for the Disney "Mom's Panel"? I've seen some wrong answers on the "Mom's Panel" before too. I've always wondered how these women got that job. :confused3

^^^ I'm very sorry for that, I know I hear it at our PTO all the time. However, in all fairness how did two men get on a Disney "Mom's Panel?" May be they should have a Disney "Dad's Panel" for them.

I am a mom but I totally agree with you - it should be the Parent Panel - and I think that I have seen 3 different men answer questions on it. Being a Canadian - we are always trying to be "politically correct" and it does feel very wrong for me to see it called the "Mom's Panel". At least, here on the Disboards - all the men's opinions are very much appreciated and respected.:thumbsup2

I am so glad that I found the Disboards because it has helped me so much. I am still in shock at the "Mom's Panel" answer. The TA should be doing a better job but there is no excuse to have such a wrong answer be posted on the actual Disney website .:sad2:

Several years ago, a cm told me the same thing. (On the phone when I was booking our resort.) Luckily, I found out the truth on the Disboards before I embarrassed myself at a park gate.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Making one of my dining reservations on the phone in January with Disney Dining the CM told me I did not need a ticket for park admission if I was just going in for a dinner reservation.:scared1:

Really.

I am glad I did not listen to her. :rolleyes1

You can "ask a question" directly to Maribel and comment to her that way. Maybe we can educate her on how you can/can't use tickets.:sad2:

Really, I think it's awful that Disney has that on their own site.

No response, either from a member on the panel or from a CM, should start with or include the words: "I think"

If someone does NOT know the answer, then they should NOT guess but, rather, should seek out the answer from someone higher up the chain.

I'm assuming that when Disney accepts applications for the Mom's Panel they give applicants a quiz/test to see how much they know about the parks, policies, transportation, shows, attractions, dining plans and venues, extra magic hours, resorts, etc. It's surprising that such a basic question was answered incorrectly by Mom's Panel Maribel. It doesn't seem to show a high degree of knowledge about park tickets info.

I have a niece who met her husband when both were in the Army in Military Intelligence. She has a degree in English from a major university. She has two children, ages 10 and 7, both with special needs. While living in Florida the whole family had AP's.

She applied for the Mom's Panel and did not get accepted.

And whenever she has a question she is not sure of she has an expert in the family that she asks. So we have no idea how they really selected the members.

And, as far as misinformation from Disney: When you call Walt Disney World, unless you really know a direct number, you will get one of two offices.

The Disney Reservations Center (DRC) includes Walt Disney Travel Company (WDTC), Central Reservations Office (CRO), Disney Dining, and some other lesser known information lines. To the best of my knowledge the DRC locations are in the International Drive area, Tampa, Houston, Salt Lake City and somewhere in North Carolina. There may be more. Some of the people working at the DRC call centers may never have been to either WDW or DL (or both).

The Main Switchboard (407-824-2222) is also where all calls to Disney Resorts go if you are dialing the phone number on the back of your reservations form. Also that is where calls go if you dial the Operator from your room, and possibly even calls to the Front Desk. The Main Switchboard people will, if asked, also identify themselves as Guest Services. They can put you through to any number on WDW.

At both DRC and MS they have access to a computer which has lots of Guest Information and it is very well organized. Actually, all CMs who have access to a terminal, or who even can access the "Cast Portal" from off-site, have access to this Guest Services information. I will often open an extra window when I am responding to people and go into the Portal for the latest official information.

The people at DRC and MS do not deal with upgrades, partially used tickets, or problems related to tickets. They do not know all the rules. The people at DRC can sell unused tickets; the people at MS don't deal with tickets at all.

The people who work in the ticket booths at the Parks or in Guest Relations at the Parks (and this includes TTC, the Water Parks, and GRO in DTD) deal with ticket upgrades and unusual problems on a daily basis. I would not say that someone you talked to on the phone lied to you, but just they were attempting to answer a question when they really did not have an answer.
