Could this possibly be true?

ETA: I just sent safetymom a PM asking about her post.

It was (as was thought) just a typo.

.

Likely a typo.

I'd think it should read, "Normally you can't use 2 days in one day.

^^^ That's what I originally thought, but then again I don't assume anything about what someone else writes here.

It helps to know that safetymom is much more than just "someone" on the DISboards.

;)

Sorry you don't like my answer but we DID it!

That's what we did. Like the dining plan - if I want all of my weeks worth of food in 1 day then I can get it that way.

They may have changed it now so I guess I will find out in Sept.
Nothing has changed, you have NEVER been able to use the base tickets that way.

But you can find older posts from different panel members giving the same (wrong) advice. See http://disneyworldforum.disney.go.com/questions.aspx?where=home&sort=AverageVote&page=7370&qid=5590.

Reading her answer, I think she was trying to say you could do it if you purchase a separate 1 day ticket. Confusing wording.

Yes Cindy! If you get the Magic Your Way base tickets and go to two parks in one day, you will need two days worth of tickets.

You should consult the ticket pricing matrix however. I'm looking at your example, and if you purchased an adult 5 day Magic Your Way base ticket the estimate is $215. If you purchased the Park Hopper option, the price is $265. Adding that one extra day from your example is more expensive, as the one day price is approximately $71.

I don't know about you, but I like spending less! If really plan to park hop, you should buy the park hopper option.

Have a magical trip!

I am going to try to enter both MK and Epcot on April 25 just to see what happens. We have 7 day base tickets that we were going to add the PH onto but I will try to enter both parks without PH first. If it works, that is totally crazy - if it doesn't (which is what I expect) then we will pay for the PH as planned. I will keep you all updated on it.

That past panel member is Laura. She was actually hired by disney and is in charge of the moms panel now! just an FYI.

i am beginning to wonder if everyone is talking about the same type of ticket options.
If you read Laura's full response, though, it appears she thinks the person asking the question intends to purchase an entirely separate one-day base pass - not add a day to their existing five day pass. Granted, her specific pricing is outdated - but she refers to them comparing the $50 cost of a park hopper with the $71 cost of an additional ticket (not day).

Gotta defend my fellow Bay Staters :)

I have had people come to my turnstile and attempt to use a non-hopper for hopping.

I politely give them two choices:
1. Return to the Park they were at first and enjoy the rest of the day, or
2. Go to any Ticket or Guest Relations Window and upgrade the tickets to hoppers.

If they try to say they would like to just use another day on the ticket, what I will them is: "Today is March 7. The computer here thinks today is March 7. The computer at the Park you were at thinks today is March 7. The two computers talk to each other. If you can persuade the computer here that today is not March 7 or you did not go to the other Park on March 7, it will let you in."

I have other things that I can tell them, and I remain polite and firm (although I may be thinking some very non-Disney thoughts at them) and will not let them in.

No - it was 2 of the parks. My friend also does it. Maybe this year I will have to get the park hopper.:confused3

I think you should count that as a twist of good luck, but don't count on it happening again. Sounds like maybe the computer was down when you went into the second park and it let you in OR you really had park hopping on the ticket and didn't realize it.

It's not about liking your answer. You can't do it! So stop passing off false info!
Just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean that I didn't do it. I DO NOT pass false info. I was just telling what I did in May!

Maybe it was just a fluke. I will plan on getting the park hopper when I go in the fall.

The important thing is that is was definitely a ``fluke`` that it worked for you, so there is no reason to keep defending it. It will not be posible for the overwhelming majority of the time someone tries to do it.

We were at DHS a couple of Thursdays ago every FP machine said that "This ticket has not been used for park entry" I wonder if the FP machines didn't know I was in the park the other park's computers wouldn't know either.:confused3

That's what I was wondering ... whether the computer didn't recognize the ticket in park #1, and therefore could allow entry into park #2 later on. I have heard that CMs will sometimes manually override a turnstile that isn't recognizing a ticket at all, rather than stop the guest to try to sort it all out. But, if that were the case, the poster would have had the same issues at the FP machines that you did!

I am defending me being called a liar - not whether it can or can not be done again. I also never told anybody to do it. I just stated that it had happened to me.
