Could this possibly be true?

We did it in May 2009. We bought more days and no park hopper and had no problem entering 2 different parks in 1 day. We were there for 7 days and bought a 10 day pass.

That's very interesting that you actually were able to do it. Are you positive that you did not have the PH option on your tickets?

No you didn't. The tickets will not allow it.

Was the other park a water park? If it was that would explain why you could do that. But, if it wasn't something was wrong because even Disney says you can't do this. If I remember correctly there is a disclaimer on their website when looking at ticket options.
Not only is there a disclaimer but the tickets are keyed to not allow this.

Well, DIS'er's I am heading to Disney in 48 days and we have 7 day base ticket that we were going to add the PH onto. So I will try to enter first without upgrading to PH and if I get through, I will let everyone know. We are going to MK on the morning of April 25 and will try to enter Epcot that evening.

We are only going to do Disney for 5 days so if we can get into the park without upgrading to PH, then we will have some bonus money that was budgeted for PH, if not, at least we will all know for sure.:)

With a MYW Base Ticket "You are allowed to re-enter the same park if you leave it on one day, but it can only be used at the one park.

If you put the ticket in the turnstile of another park the display on the Guest side of the turnstile will be "ACCESS DENIED". The top line of the display on the Greeter side will give information about the ticket, and the second line of the display will say "CROSSOVER NOT PERMITTED". The turnstile will not unlock."

^^^ So Maribel's advice to Brooke was incorrect. Buying extra days of a Base Ticket will not allow you to enter more than one park each day.

Also, anyone find this insulting? There are at least two men who answer questions. I hate this. This happens when I used to go to dance meetings or PTA meetings. "OK moms!' "OK ladies!" Hello... THERE'S A GUY PRESENT!

Sorry that was.... :offtopic:

Offtopic or not, I feel the same way. I also feel that it's a bit demeaning to address a group of women as "moms", like their having borne or adopted kids turns them into "just moms" instead of humans. But that's even more off topic. :)

^^^ How exactly where these moms picked for the Disney "Mom's Panel"? I've seen some wrong answers on the "Mom's Panel" before too. I've always wondered how these women got that job. :confused3

I know there's an initial essay that encompasses your experience with WDW and why you love WDW and why you want to be on the panel. Something like that.

What's sad is that I've not yet been to WDW, but could most likely answer almost every question more accurately than it seems some WDW "experts" over there can, simply because I read the Dis avidly.

The good news is that the post referenced in the OP has 93 ratings with a average of 1.4 out of 5.
Well, the more of us who link to that question-and-"answer", and rate it a 1, the lower the average score will go. Earlier this morning, it was 73 ratings with an average 1.5 out of 5.

I can't find it anymore either :confused3 Maybe that means that the powers to be heard the DIS message loud and clear and removed the incorrect information :rotfl2: Way to go, DISers :thumbsup2

I think the question is gone. I can't find it on the Mom's panel anymore...

Yes, the question and answer appear to have been completely removed. I wonder if Maribel removed in response to all the awesome DIS'ers that contacted her or if Disney removed it because it had so many low ratings - Thanks DIS'ers for investigating this with me!;)

I am so glad that we have the DISboards to get the facts and accurate details on! DISboards and DIS'ers ROCK!

To answer your question about how to get on the moms panel/how to apply, up to 20,000 applicant's 100 word essays are accepted in round 1. those essays are judged and whittled down to a few hundred or so and those few hundred move on to round 2 and are asked to write another 100 word essay. From round 2, less than 50 are chosen for a phone interview and then the panel is chosen.
There have been 8 dads past/present on the panel. The term "moms" panel is a general term meaning the person planning the trips and not necessarily a male or female or even married.

^^^ I feel bad for Brooke. She may still be under the impression that she can use her extra days Base Tickets to enter two parks the same day. I hope she can receive the right info. somehow. Otherwise, she'll be an unhappy camper while on her WDW vacay.

Me too! I hope Disney did the right thing and gave her the correct information. And hopefully, since she is obviously researching her vacation, she will stumble upon DISboards.:dance3:

I also hope that it is a lesson to the "Mom's Panel" people to research and make sure they are giving out accurate infomation.:)

No - it was 2 of the parks. My friend also does it. Maybe this year I will have to get the park hopper.:confused3

Stuff like this really makes me feel for CMs sometimes.

I can just imagine someone showing up at the turnstyle, with their whole family all sunscreened up and ready to go, after maybe parking and monorailing or ferrying, only to have the CM have to say, "I'm sorry, but you can't enter." And then, to add with a smile, "but for $225, your family of 4 can upgrade to a park hopper."

"But, but, but . . . the mom's panel told me it was ok."

It's all well and good for disney to put disclaimers on there. It's another matter for the poor folks at the front line who who end up with (understandably) irate guests.

It might have been a day the computers were down. Normally you can't use 2 days in one day.
