I am terribly uncreative at this kind of thing, and we have tickets for MNSSHP. My boys will be 3 and 1, so especially for the little one I need something easy, but what?

I'm thinking they can be Buzz and Woody, the Buzz outfit I'll buy, I'm also thinking about buying a Woody outfit and letting 1-yo wear the shirt, vest, and bandana, with his own jeans. There is no way he will wear the hat, but the rest he might think is regular clothes. Will it matter if his vest/shirt are too big?

We live in Ohio, and Halloween is typically COLD. They need warm costumes for home, but I'm assuming it's not so cold for the party. Am I right, or will they need warmer outfits?

Thanks, Steph

I am thinking of dressing up as a pirate!! Just going to wear a stripey top, stripey socks, 3/4 length black capri pants! I am going to complete the custume with a skull and cross bones bandana, eye patch and sword from the shop at the POTC ride!!!!

My DH thinks we are too old to dress up but I don't care!!!!!:jumping1:

I bought a Mickey Mouse costume (for 12 month old) from disneystore.com a few days ago for around $14 on sale. They also had other costumes available. The Buzz and Woody idea sounds very cute though.

My DH won't even consider dressing up! That was the first thing he said. I'm going to get him a MNSSHP t-shirt and he can wear that. I probably will too, not sure yet.

Briannesmom--thanks for the idea about the Mickey costume, I'll look into that. That might be an easier one!

Thanks!

We did MNNSHP in 2002 and it was warm! Late October averages highs in the low 80's, and was around 90 on party day. I'd worry more about keeping cool then warm. Dh and I wore tshirts I made with large orange mouse ear silhouettes on them. Simple and looked nice. Regular costumes would have been roasting. I had the same problem you do, Halloween in my area is often cold, and occasionally snowy! At the coldes the jeans and a light jacket will be fine, at the warmest, well we were roasting in shorts and tshirts that night.

I bought DD(5) the Bo Peep costume and I have a friend making a lamb costume for DD(she will be 11mos then). I have wanted to do this for years and this will probably be the only year DD(5) will let me. :(

I went as a clown, Skirt, Vest, Tee shirt and stripy socks..
DD went as Jessie
DNeice as Sleeping Beauty
DMom went as Belle (SOO FUNNY 60yr old woman as Belle)
DSister was Mrs. Potts

Well that night was HUMID and Hot, we all took our costumes off..

This year..
DD wants to be a beautiful princess/
DSon has no clue
DH wants to be Hercules (He thinks he has the body LOL)
Im thinking of the Queen of hearts

But all in all, Im more worried about it being too HOT again..

We also know what it is like to stick a snow suit under a hallowwen costume but believe me that is not the case for MNSSHP. Last year DH and I did not dress up and all 3 kids went as pirates with only t-shirts on- what a change. This year we have no clue yet as to costumes.

I have some scrubs that were given to me as a gag gift finished, dh is going to try to get a hospital gown. My dd will likely be a princess (of course). I'm sure she'll be one of a million. She has the set of three 2-piece dresses (snow white, cinderella, and aurora). Lately, she seems to be favoring the sleeping beauty dress, but she'll tell you her favorite princess is Snow White.

The only thing I worry about is how well she'll be able to walk around with a skirt on. Otherwise, I figure these are simple costumes and don't require a lot of planning or getting ready time.

We went to the Nov 1, 2002 party and it was warm that night, but not too hot. I think we all wore jeans and t-shirts, just very comfortable weather. I don't think you'll have to worry about cold, but I'd pack a sweatshirt just in case (I always bring one)...

As far as costumes go, you really see a wide variety there. Some kids and adults go all out, some just wear a funny hat, lots of MNSSHP t-shirts too!

This year, since it's our honeymoon, we'll just be wearing our bride and groom ears, I think it will be sufficient!!

My baby boy will be 1 on our trip. He is going as a Red Sox ball player. It is just a shorts and t-shirt outfit with a cap. He can wear it again and will. I just didn't want to go crazy since he won't get it anyway.
DD is Little BO Peep.

We're going as Kim Possible, at least, that's the plan right now. Ok, we don't have the hair,(or the figure LOL). I figure we can wear black t-shirts, the magic gloves, green pants, web belt with a small rope attached to it, and our stuff bags. Now, how do I make this costume cool enough, temperaturewise? hmmm....

We went last year 10/31. We all wore tie died t-shirts and jean shorts. The kids had peace necklaces and tatoos. We were three generations and it was alot of fun all being hippies together. (And grandma really enjoyed being part the of gang).
The picture came out really cute too.

We saw alot of families dressed in simple theme's 50's, 60's, pirates (black shorts, torn t-shirts and bandanna's), tourists (you know dad with the socks and sandals, loud shirts) and the Mickey mouse club was really cute (all had red t-shirts on, one said dad, mom, daughter, son with black shorts and mickey years)

What ever you do join in the fun. Dress up, you'll never see these people again and it really adds to the night.
