Does anyone know what it would cost or where I can find out the cost to upgrade my 3 day park hopper to an AP? Is it just the difference in the cost?

We are considering a trip next year and there is a possibility it would be a benefit to upgrade. Also if I pay to upgrade my husband won't change his mind on going back so soon!

If you bought your hopper from Disney, yes, you just pay the difference between what you paid and the cost of the AP. If you bought it elsewhere (such as at a discount from an authorized reseller), the recommendation is to use it to enter a park once, which then "freezes" the price of your hopper at whatever the price for it is at the WDW gate that day (which may be more than what you actually paid), and you'll pay the difference between that price and the cost of the AP.

I purchased through Disney, but I may not be able to convince my husband till the end of the trip to upgrade, can I still do it then?

I believe that you need to do any upgrades before you use the last day on your ticket.

Close, but not quite.

You can do the upgrade as late as ON THE SAME DAY that you use the ticket's last asset.
So if you use the last day on the ticket on, say, Thursday, you have until close of business on that Thursday to do the upgrade.
(You still get the same full original unused value for the ticket, even when it is "all used up.")

What happens with any AP upgraded from a park ticket is that the AP is back-dated to the date on which you FIRST USED the original ticket.

Thanks for the clarification Robo
