We are off to WDW in 4 weeks for 11 nights and 10days of park hopping. I plan to do a length of stay stroller rental for a double stroller as we are going with our 2 kids. Our son will be 7 and our daughter 6, she is 43 inches and 36 lbs and I know that she will not tolerate all that walking. I just need to know the cost of the rental.

16$ a day length of stay rental for a double stroller.. or 18$ per day if you rent it day by day

Stroller rentals cost (prices current as of January 2006):

At the theme parks:

Single or infant (newborn to 9 months) strollers: $10/day (no deposit) OR $8/day Length of Stay rental

Double strollers: $18/day (no deposit) OR $16/day Length of Stay rental

At Downtown Disney:

Single or infant (newborn to 9 months) strollers: $10/day (with $250 credit card imprint required for deposit); $8/day Length of Stay rental (limited quantity) Note: Double strollers are not available.

Reservations are not accepted. If you want to visit more than one park in a given day, retain your stroller receipt and present it at the second park to obtain another stroller at no additional cost.

You might want to think about a day-by-day rental if the savings are so small, or possibly just a single. Our two youngest are nearly 6 and 4 1/2, and we felt the same way about their stamina. But we seldom pushed them and never needed to push both at the same time. A bigger issue for us is keeping them content while they wait in long lines (I don't think Disney rents anything for that).

Does anyone know if they take credit cards at the stroller rental station? I'll be doing a week long rental and I hadn't budgeted cash for that.
Thanks! princess:

You may want to consider A Baby's Best Friend for a stroller rental. It's much cheaper than renting in the parks and you'll have it for the entire length of stay (not just in the parks you can take it back to your room/wherever) Very convenient when leaving the parks with sleepy/sleeping little ones. They pick up and deliver to your hotel for no extra charge too. I have a double jogging stroller reserved for 9 days and it's $94.

I would rethink renting one of the Disney strollers for a 6 and 7 year old. IMO, I don't think they both would fit and be comfortable? Unless they are small for there age. If you do decide to rent one, as a previous poster said, I'd rent day by day, your kids may want to walk and just rest on a bench at times, or just get a single and they could take turns sitting.

A couple of thoughts ....

Regardless of its listing in AllEarsNet, there really is no such thing as "length of stay" rental, or rather, "length of stay" can be a misleading term.

The CMs at the stroller rental shops at the 4 theme parks don't know what your length of stay is, and they don't care. They just want to know how many total days you want a stroller for. So in other words, if you are staying for 11 days but will only need a stroller in the parks for 7 of those days, you don't pay for 11 days, you pay for the number of days you want. That's why I think "length of stay" is a misnomer, because some people might complain about thinking they have to pay for every day they are staying even though they won't be in parks each of those days.

Anyway, to comment on what ammo said ....
Stroller rental fees are completely refundable. You can get your money back in full for each day's worth of stroller rental you don't use. When you do a multi-day rental, you get a rental pass for each day you paid for. When you initially get a stroller each day, one rental pass is stamped with that day's date on it. You can get a refund for any rental passes you have that you didn't use (the ones you didn't use won't be stamped); you will also need your receipt for this transaction, and the receipt will be stapled to the strip of rental passes when you first get them.

With this knowledge, you'd know it would be a waste of money to go day-by-day to decide if you'll rent a stroller or not. You can pay in advance for multiple days, take advantage of the multi-day discount, and then get a refund for any unused days. It will also save you a lot of time in line each day. The "pay" line can get rather long sometimes, but if you already have an unused rental pass you totally by-pass the "pay" line and go directly to the always short or non-existent "pick-up" line.

The stroller rental shops inside the 4 theme parks accept credit cards and room charges as well as cash.

Eric, you just sold me on the stroller rental. Do you know if you can charge the stroller rental to your Key to the World if you have charging priviledges associated with it?

I am also renting from abbf. Right now I have the regular side by side reserved and am thinking about getting the double jogger. I'm just scared that the jogger will be very heavy. Have you used it before??

It may be best to bring your own stroller(s) with you. Remember, the rentals are left insde the gates at the parks. In most cases, if you are using Disney Transportation, you still have a little hike ahead of you to get to the bus, boat or monorail station! Bring (or buy) something that fold up quickly for use on the bus. We went with my two DD's 4.5 and 2.5, and we were glad we had two umbrella strollers with us!!

No. This is our first trip down. I didn't even think about how heavy it would be..that's what DH is for :rotfl2: I just looked at the website. The side by side is 23 pounds and the jogging stroller is 30 pounds.

I guess I can hold on to the kids and dh will have the stroller. I just don't want him dreading it each time we have to fold it up and carry on and off the bus.

Plenty of room in a double rental stroller for two kids ages 6 and 7. Our last trip we put all 3 of our kids (4,4, almost 3) in the double and they fit fine.;)
You'll see lots of kids older than 7 at the parks riding in the doubles.

That's the only way I've ever done it.

Within the theme parks, water parks, and WDW owned-and-operated resorts, I can't think of a single product or service that you CAN'T put on your room charge.
