Cost of Fantasmic! Dessert Seating

It's more of a Crazy division than it is a Class division. Everyone inside the park has already paid an arm and a leg just to get in, and who knows how much more on snacks, food, and merchandise. So I say Crazy division because it's for those crazy enough to give Disney even more money! But when you compare the $59.00 price to the prices throughout the park it really isn't that ridiculous or an outrage, an outrage is paying $8.00 for a Turkey Leg, assuming the price hasn't gone up since I was there last. Yes not everyone can shell out an extra $60 per head, but most don't think twice about $1.75 for an apple or $5.00 popsicles, so we're all crazy, but some more than others. At least they get dessert and a free beverage!

I really think the admission price to Disney is a BARGAIN..no joke. Look what you can get for that admission price: up to 17 hours of park being open (doesn't MM start at 7 at times and park closes at midnight?) all the entertainment, parades,fireworks, Fantasmic, WOC, rides, atmosphere. Amazing deal, really..You do not have to spend a dime in the parks since you can get free water and bring in food. I remember the old ticket days..those booklets really added up To us, DLR is a really economical vacation..DVC means it's all prepaid as far as the room, have AP, don't buy 'stuff', eat cheap, so really all we spend is on experiences and cheaper food.

yeah the park tickets aren't bad...we paid $60/pp for ONE day at sesame place and that wasn't nearly as fun. Here we're paying under $200 for 6 days at Disneyland and DCA. Well worth it.
The dessert package...that seems a bit high for me and I can't ever seeing us do it. This will be our first time seeing it and we are hoping to find decent seats without a long wait...not sure really what to expect.

I agree with Nunzia about the admission price. If you take the number of rides, attractions, parades etc and divide that into the price you paid for 1 day, I think it is very reasonable.

Look up that light tower trick, we went the week before New Years and even with the crowds we only showed up 15 min before the show and had an amazing view. For Free.

I too think the price is high for the fantasmic reserved seating. Which is why I have never done it. Thats my choice. Since we are AP holders we can spare the "time" to get a good spot.

However, if we were going on a once in a lifetime trip where time is really a much more valuable entity... the price doesn't seem that bad at all.

Funny you should ask....

They are in the Candy Shop on Main Street. They are - ready? - $4.95 each. They only have them seasonally so I am not sure how long they will be there. I asked and the answer was very vague. Essentially, they had them for Valentine's Day and "are seasonal item."

DD & I did the F! Dessert Seating on the 4th of July last year - we really enjoyed it but those of you who say you do it to save time ~ What?!?! You have to line up to select your seat(s) *and if you're smart you'll get there at 6:30pm* I suppose only one person in your party needs to though. Luckily the man in front of us held our place while DD & I rode rides - otherwise *she* and I would've stood in the line the entire time, it was just the 2 of us We also use the light tower trick *it works for the 2nd show too

It was a time saver. Dh stood in line for an hour. Got there at 7 and was the 3rd in line. He ate dinner while waiting in line (and it took the rest of us an hour to eat dinner with the kids at FM anwyays), so really, no time was lost. When we didn't get the seats, we switched off waiting in front of ROA for 3 1/2 hours. For seating, myself and my younger ds got there 15 minutes before the show because he didn't want to go on pirates again. The rest of the pary came in literally 3 minutes before, sat down, got their boxes and drinks, and the show started.

I will take waiting an hour for a really good spot for the second show or having ok seats for the first show over paying 60 extra bucks for some desserts and a seat for a 20 min show any day. Especially if you have to come early to "check in" and get your place in line!

That's my plan too. Did you get in line at 8:15 (or 15 minutes before you were actually allowed to sit in your seats) or 15 minutes before the time they allow you to pick your seats from the chart?

15 minutes before the time they allow you to pick your seats from the chart. After we picked the seats, we went back when at the time they they told us to so we could sit down and relax with our dessert box and drinks before the show started. We weren't worried about getting "front row seats", just "seats".

We lined up at 6:15 when we did this (in 2009) and there were already two people (from two different groups) in front of us. We weren't planning on waiting that long for seats, but we were tired and ready to sit at that point. We brought a deck of cards and played while waiting in line.

Ok, now I gotta ask what is the process for the dessert package? From reading this, it sounds like you reserve the package before hand - is this a 30 days in advance kind of thing? Then on the day of the show, what do you do? Wait in line to pick seats? What time is that available? Then what? You go to your seats? I'm a bit confused.

This July will be my family's first DLR trip - maybe not the last, but we are definitely east-coasters, so WDW is our standard trip. So this summer, we'll be there about 6-7 days and want to experience as much as possible during what I think will be a very busy time. Saving time (are we talking 1-2 hours?) - even at a high price - will be worth it to us.

Yes, you reserve over the phone. I can't remember if it is 30 or 60 days, but I think 30.

Then the day of you pick up your tickets at town hall.

You can pick seats at 8. So depending on where you want to sit, you can line up early. Only one person needs to be there to do that. My dh lined up at 7, this was MLK weekend, and we got front row. He ate dinner while waiting.

Then, you come back when you want prior to the show (you can come 5 minute before, get your box and be served drinks, and eat while the show goes on or you can come 30 minutes ahead, enjoy your desserts, and people watch while waiting). After F!, if you stay you can watch the fireworks from your seat (and they will bring you more beverages if you want). They pipe in the music and use light effects right there at ROA for the fireworks.
