Has anyone been lately? I'm curious if there are new mugs this year. Have a red/black/yellow one from last year but was hoping for a new design! Thanks!!:goodvibes

In March they were selling the new design with the beach theme and pink, blue, or yellow handle/top.

Does anyone know if Cafe Rix still serves breakfast sandwiches? On the allears menu from summer 2010 it lists them, but on the updated summer 2011 menu on wdwinfo they are not listed. Has anyone been to Coronado Springs recently who could tell me? Obviously not a huge deal either way, but I think I'd prefer something quick and easy like that for breakfast, as opposed to the larger breakfast platters that the Pepper Market seems to serve.

Twelve more days till I'm there!!! :cloud9:

If someone has some advise on transportation...I am all EARS! ;) I am looking for different things to do/explore this trip (our 2nd). We have never seen the BoardWalk or been to the Wilderness Lodge. Wanting to do some new things on days we won't be in the parks.

I read some where "To get to the Boardwalk, take a bus to MGM and then take the boat over to the Boardwalk". I am assuming MGM is the DHS...question...are there boats that go from DHS to the BoardWalk? I don't remember any river/water near but I have only been to DHS once 4 yrs ago. :confused3

Are there any cool ways to get to and from CSR to the WLR by boats?

I tried searching the transportation thread and nothing. TIA!!!

The boat dock at DHS is on the far right side when you are on your way to the park. Boats go to the Swan/Dolphin, Boardwalk, Beach/Yach Club and Epcot.
Another option is to get out of Epcot using the International Gateway instead of the front exit/entrance and walk or take a boat to the Boardwalk.

From CSR to WL, go to MK and take the boat to WL.

I'm thinking about switching my reservation for 2010 from POR to CSR. I've already switched once (POFQ to POR) and I'm a notorious resort hopper. :rotfl: This resort looks beautiful and I absolutely love the room decor. It's my favorite out of the four mods. Plus this seems like it'd be the closest thing to deluxe without actually booking that category. For you CSR vets, what are the crowds like at the resort? I have a feeling this is one that flies under the radar. How big is the resort? Looking at the map is a bit overwhelming. Are the lines for buses long (I've heard horror stories about the POR buses! :scared1: ) I also noticed there are three King room options. If I booked a regular old King, could I request to be in the Castitas or Cabanas buildings? What is considered a King preferred? TIA for any feedback!

When we went for our disneymoon in the middle of June this year the crowds were good. They werent low but they werent nearly as bad as they were when we stayed at All Stars last fall. The quiet pool near our rooms only ever had a handful of people in it and you could always find a seat in the dining room for Pepper Market, even at breakfast when everyone is eating and then going to the parks.

The rooms & resort really are beautiful! Having been there it makes me not even wanna try going to another mod resort (at least for a while :rotfl2:). We got upgraded to a room with a king sized bed and you can get one in the Cabanas building because thats where we were. I'm not sure what King Preferred is but maybe its when you request a specific room with a king bed in it?

The resort does look a bit intimidating from the maps but it honestly wasnt bad at all. If you get in Casitas or Cabanas your less then a 5 minute walk from everything. And the bus lines were never that long. We never had to wait for a second bus to pick us up even in the mornings. And we never had to stand because there just wasnt enough people to ever fill up the seats.

I hope I was able to answer some of your questions. Oh and FYI the food in the Pepper Market is 10x better then the food at the other food courts in the mods because its all made fresh right when you order. That was a major selling point for us to go back because we loved the food! :rotfl: We tend to eat a lot in the restaurants at the resorts so it was a huge plus for us.

We returned from CSR on 8/14 & had a great time. We had requested Cabanas 8A or B or Casitas 4 or 5 on our original reservation. Did online check in & didn't request anything on there. We were checked in quickly & were given a room in Cabanas 8B. The CM just circled the building on the map & we were on our way. I didn't think she was very "magical". Oh well, we were still at WDW! We had driven so we drove to the parking lot & unloaded our stuff. We were given room 8505 & had a little bit of trouble finding it. I had booked a standard room so I was looking on the parking lot side of the building. Turned out it was on the water side, so I would say we were given a waterview room. We had a tree in front of the window, but it looked out at the Lake.

We loved the resort & found it really quiet. We were on the 1st floor & found it very convenient. We had a "connecting" room even though we were not "connected" We heard nothing from either neighbor, just the toilet flushing above which wasn't a problem. Mousekeeping was a little strange. We had gone to MK on Sunday & had not planned on a break, but by 1 pm, we were ready to get out of the heat so when we returned to the room, Mousekeeping had not been by. Some of us headed to the pool & some took a nap & we left again about 5 pm so the room never got cleaned that day. On Monday, we got up & went to BB. We returned about the same time for rest & were heading out to Epcot around 4-5 & I figured the room wouldn't get cleaned again. About 4:30, there was a knock on the door & it was mousekeeping. We told them we would be out in a few minutes. On Friday, we had slept in & about 9:45 am, they knocked on the door & were there to clean. The room was cleaned everyday but Sunday, it just never seemed to be at the same time.

I felt bad because I forgot to leave our tip envelopes 2 days in a row....just in a rush to get to RD. So the 3rd day, I left all 3 with the days of the week written on them. Only the current day was taken, so I think maybe different people were cleaning the rooms?

Bus service was really good from the resort. We had 5-10 minute waits almost all week. Leaving Epcot at closing we waited about 20-25 min & leaving Blizzard Beach, we waited about the same. That was about 1 pm on a Monday. Busses were always empty going to the parks & only crowded at park closing nights.

Our location was great & we didn't mind the walk to the Pepper Market although we didn't do it daily. We were close to the Dig Site Pool & used it several times. I did do laundry 1 day because we had gotten wet a couple of days from rain & we found we were showering twice a day because of the heat, so I was running out of underwear. I put the laundry in & sat at the quiet pool. There were only about 3 people at the pool with me & no one at the laundry room.

We only ate at Pepper Market twice. The 1st time was dinner at about 10 pm on Sunday night. Our plans had gotten changed & we found ourselves still needing to eat after getting drenched at MK (forgot our ponchos). Food was fine but it was probably not as fresh as if we had not eaten so late. We had breakfast there on our sleep in day & again it was good. I felt like there weren't enough workers at the food stations....seemed to take awhile to place your orders & get the food made at some of the stations. Workers didn't seem to have "any sense of urgency".

DH & DS used the fitness center twice & enjoyed themselves. Resort is really pretty & we really enjoyed our stay.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions & I hope my "ramblings" help others in their decisions to stay here.

I am glad to hear that your overall stay at the CSR was enjoyable for you. Sounds like you had a great time.

Sorry I have been missing lately. Work has been hectic and I've been trying to catch up on all of my threads.

It looks as if most, if not all, questions have been answered. If anyone's quesiton was missed, please post again and I will be sure to try to answer.

We leave four weeks from tomorrow; we are hoping to squeeze in a visit to the CSR for a gelato.

I guess King preferred is a new category for 2012. I'm assuming its a King room in one of the preferred buildings. What classifies as a preferred building? I'm guessing the closest Cabana and Casitas buildings?

I've heard the food at Pepper Market is great but I'm a little confused to how it all works. I know you get seated like a regular restaurant but then they stamp your ticket for food? Can you use the dining plan there? Is it counter service credit?

I'm a CSR newb! Thanks!

In March they were selling the new design with the beach theme and pink, blue, or yellow handle/top.

Current colors are pink, blue and black.

The only resort with different colors would be All Star Sports with their RFID chips, they have orange, purple and another color.

In addition to the other answers you were given, they were available at Siestas too, when we were there in March.

I haven't been around too much either. What do you mean VISIT?! :scared1: I thought we had a drink date by the pool. LOL!! ;) Are you going to cheat on CSR??!! :lmao:

Yes, I guess you haven't been around. The original plan was 2 nights at AKL-Kidani and then four nights at CSR. We are still doing the AKL, but a friend offered his points that are going to expire at the end of September for "FREE" to stay at OKW so we have changed to OKW. This is only the second time in our last twelve trips that we are NOT staying at CSR. :sad2:

I'm assuming thats what the king preferred would be. Maybe somebody else can answer that question. As for the dining yes they accep the dining plan. Pepper Market accepts it as well as Cafe Rix, Maya Grill and Siestas Pool Bar & Grill. For Pepper Market you go up to the podium and they hand you a sheet and lead you to your table where they take your drink orders. Then you get up and go and order your food from each station like you would at a normal CS restaurant. They mark off what you order on your sheet. You wait for the food and then bring it back to your tables. They refill your drinks for you and take your dishes away and you tip them and then bring your sheet up to the register and pay. It counts as a counter service credit.

King has always been a "bookable" category. When CSR (and POR) added "preferred" rooms, it became "preferred", "preferred king", "preferred waterview".

Thank you so much!!! :goodvibes

WHAT!! I'm gonna have to find a good map to see what all the option are with the boats and find the International Gateway. We took the monorail around on our first trip...there is just sooo much to see and do. I better start planning another trip now! :rotfl: At least I know some of our "have to do's" for this trip from the notes I made from our other trip. It's just so hard to narrow them down.

There is so much to see and do! I've lived in FL since 2000 and still haven't done everything there is to do at Disney.

It's not as difficult to get around as it sounds. Robo always has some great maps on the DIS that make it easy to find places.

We usually stop at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club for a sundae before enjoying some time on the Boardwalk. It's fun to watch people eating a kitchen sink!

The preferred rooms are Casitas 1, 2 and 3.

I see. I remembered the AKL part before CSR but hadn't heard....the rest of the story. ;) Well you can't beat FREE!!!! Have a wonderful time! Maybe I'll see you in the parks. :goodvibes
