Question: We have a 7pm flight home. We have an ADR at CRT for breakfast and will stay in the park for a bit, then head back to CSR and hopefully swim/relax until it's time to leave. Is it possible to get late check-out? I really don't want to have to check out at 7am when we are rushing out to CRT. I did a search and people said 1pm can be available but it is up to mousekeeping. Anyone have experience with this at CSR? But even if 1pm is an option, it would stink to arrive at 1:05p and get stuck paying for the night. Also, if we check out at 7am, what happens to our luggage? Do they store it or send it to the airport? What if we need stuff that's in it (bathing suits, stuff for plane etc)? Is there a place by the pool where we could change if we didn't have a room anymore? And finally, do we have to go back to CSR to get on DME (if for example we check out at 7am, send our luggage on its way, and decide to stay in MK all day)? Thanks!!!

Has it been announced yet what buildings are now preferred locations? We are booked in May and I have requested Cabanas 8B but I don't want to pay extra.....

Let's see if I can help..... from my experiences.....

1pm is the latest you can check out, no exceptions there. the computer will automatically de-activate your key. So if you don't think you will be able to check out by then it might be worth the extra $$ for the day.


You can use express check out..... they will leave your bill on the door and if you don't ask for 1pm it will automatically de-activate your keys at 11am.

What you can do is give your luggage to Bell services to hold till you need to get checked in for the flight. I suggest putting your clothes for the day (bathing suits, etc.) in a carry on. If you do early flight check in and they will take your luggage that you will be checking. then keep the carry ons with Bell services till you need them. We've done this many times and they are great about it!!!

There are rest rooms by the pool and in the main building to change.

and.... Yes, you must board ME from CSR. they have all your info and have specific schedules they follow according to people's flight times, etc.

I phoned housekeeping (2 nights before check-out I believe) and asked for a late check-out (12:30pm). They granted it no problem. We actually did not get completely out of the room until almost 1pm. Re-packing to leave was a nightmare!

I'd like to make a room request that is close to a bus stop, close to a pool (either the Dig Site or a quiet pool) and relatively close to the main building. Where should I put the request in for?

We were in Cabanas 8a in Sept., and liked the location. It's not that far from the main buildings if you take the bridge across the lagoon. There is a bus stop behind 8b cabanas, and we were just steps away from the Dig site pool! I was surprised at how quiet it was--never heard noise from the pool area. Enjoy your trip!

Congratulations! Lucky you! We put in a request for 8A this time for those reasons, but Casitas 4, where we stayed on our last trip, put us very close to Bus Stop 2, which is actually the stop that is first on, first off. Its not a bad walk to El Centro, but it is a bit of a hike to the Dig Site. It is right next to the Casitas quiet pool, though. Have a wonderful trip. CSR is a beautiful resort.

We were in Cabanas 8A in September as well and loved the location. As the PP said it's very close to Dig Site, the bus stop is just around the building, and surprisingly quiet! Honestly, I never found the walk to Pepper Market a big deal. It was so beautiful and serene, it was such an enjoyable walk.

Sorry...I guess I missed your post (but I did answer someone else who asked about the preferred rooms). No OFFICIAL word has been put out there, but the reliable person that I talked to on staff at the CSR indicated that Castias 1, 2 and 3 ONLY will be preferred buildings.

I really have no idea on that. I think someone who has gone very recently or will be soon would be able to answer that question better than I can.

I am booked at POR for June 5-12 and went back and forth a hundred times over my choice. I researched CSR and finally convinced everyone in our grand gathering to switch. So I called last night only to discover there is no availability that week Is it common for it to totally fill up so far in advance? I know there is a PTA convention there midweek, maybe that filled it up. Maybe next time CSR!

We were there 12/4 - 12/9. We had called CRO to have a request for Casitas put on our ressie. We got it.

Shortly after we booked our trip in the beginning of October the site showed they only had water views and preferred. Then it was only preferred. Then for awhile there were all the room types available. Now it is just water view again. They may have blocked out rooms for the convention that they may release closer to your travel dates. If CSR is where you want to stay then I would keep checking back and there may be openings. Good Luck.

Thanks! Are there any KNOWN rooms to avoid? For example rooms that are near heating/air conditioning units that are loud etc? Cabanas 8a or 8b are my first choice, any particular rooms there to avoid? I don't really care about corner room, view, which floor, etc, location is more important to me (near Dig Site and a bus stop; near El Centro would be good but is less important that the other two).
