I too am wondering the same thing about requests. We are booked for our wedding/honeymoon at the end of Sep-Oct. We called and had our request for a King Room Water View in the Casitas or Cabanas. Is it best to check in online or wait and talk to someone in person to help sway our request?

So in the end we did not use online check in. We were all ready to do it, but then there was no place for us to type our room request. Only a pop up box asking about a fridge (which you already get at CSR) first floor, baby crib (or something of that nature). I think we will stick with the fax method so we have a better chance of getting what we want. We have a King bed with a water view booked. We are hoping to be in the Cabanas, building 9A on the second floor.

I would have loved to use the online check in so our Key to the Kingdom would be ready to go, but if I can't put in specifics for the online check in then I'd rather wait. We get into Orlando at 10:20 a.m. so even with check in and the bus ride we figure we'll be a MK no later then 1. Still a good half a day to have fun!!

Word of warning, you may have to convince the CM at reservations that you can request Casitas if you have not booked a preferred room. When I called she was insisting that I could not request Casitas as I was booked in a standard room, she then listed that Bldgs 1,2,3 are preferred. I had to inform her that those buildings are indeed preferred but that there were many more "standard" buildings available in the Casitas section and those were what I was requesting. In the end she relented and put my request on the reservation.

I think Cabanas building 9B is business or preferred too.

Cabanas 9B is Club Level, but not preferred. Club Level is for convention guests only. However, you can request it and if there is no convention paying Club Level, you could get a room there.

I want to make a reservation for maya grill on our first night there so we can eat and go straight to bed since we arive kind of late but I have no idea what time I should make the reservation for, our plane is suposed to land at 5:05pm from an international airport and we will be using ME. Does anybody have any advice?

I book about 2 hours after your arrival time. You should have enough time to ride DME to the hotel and check in. Then eat and hopefully your bags will be in your room after dinner.

Normally, I'd think 2 hours would be plenty, but since you'll be arriving internationally, you'll have to go through customs, which may take awhile. I would probably try for 3 hours out. If you get there earlier, you can probably be seated before your reservation time.

We just got back today, to answer my own question yes CSR has dry cleaning! We loved the look and feel of the resort, it was beautiful and the room was very nice- love the doors to the bathroom/changing area. However..we didn't stay there. When we got to the room, we weren't impressed with the long walk and basically having to take 2 elevators (stairs not an option with my husbands knee after all the park walking) when I called down to the front desk the CM was pretty rude and basically told me its a big resort what did I expect? I'm a desk clerk at a hotel so I know the situation could have been handled diffrently and I was starting to have a Moment myself so my husband went and checked us out and we stayed at WL. Between me calling the desk and us actually checking out we decided we'd go to dtd and I'd chill out and we'd think about the walking situation. After we waited at the bus stop for 45 min husband called and made the WL res. Heat was def a factor, if it had been cooler it all would have been no big deal. If we decide to come back for MNSSHP we will totally consider CSR. Nothing was really wrong with the resort itself, just a snotty CM and a heat induced temper tantrum.

I find that phoning the CM's brings mixed results at DW resorts, but when I go to the front desk in person everything is usually handled professionally and in an acceptable amount of time. Just works out better face to face than talking to a CM who is fielding 100's of complaints from faceless people on the other end of a phone.

I'm a little surprised they gave you a hard time. When we checked in, I could see our building was a long walk to the pool and bus, and my request for a closer spot was very graciously accomodated. They even gave me the exact building I asked for. It was all changed in less than five minutes. I was at the front desk though, so maybe yes, being there in person makes a difference.

Sorry you had a bad experience. Where were you that you had to take 2 elevators to get to your room? I've only stayed in the Ranchos and Cabanas, was that in the Casitas?

If it makes you feel any better, the CM that you spoke to on the phone was not actually AT the CSR front desk. When you call the "front desk" from your room, you get a call center and they know where you're calling from, so they answer with the name of that resort. You could have been calling from WL and gotten the same CM with the same attitude. The best way to deal with a resort issue is to physically go to the front desk and talk to someone in person and see if they can do something to help you out.

Hope you enjoyed your stay at WL. We have stayed there, too, and it's a lovely resort. It's not always in the budget for us, though! :)

Claire, I don't know any buildings that require 2 elevators to get to a room.

However, you are right...the OP did NOT talk to any one at the front desk at the CSR. As it's been said before, you'll never see anyone at the front desk on the phone as the calls go to a Call Center. I always recommend going to the desk to handle a problem.

OP, I'm sorry that CSR did not work out for you, and hope that you enjoyed your stay at the WL.

Has anyone used the gym at this resort? Does it have an elliptical? The Buzz2001 Coranado Springs site says that the fitness centre is complimentary but I remember reading somewhere that there was a fee to use it. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks.

Buzz's site is correct. There is no fee to use the fitness center equipment. There is a fee for the massages and treatments.

One week to go! Only 4 more days of work after today.:cool1: Can't wait. A lot to do this weekend!

I think there's a fee if you are not a guest of CSR. If you are staying there, it is free.

Leaving in 2 weeks! :cool1:

We decided to go half-way on Friday night so we can meet the rest of our party when they arrive via ME sometime after noon on Saturday. We are so excited we can hardly stand it! :cheer2:

Kathy, if you remember a few weeks ago, I told you that I was really clinging to this trip because my mom had been in the hospital a number of weeks and was still struggling. I'm happy to report that she's made amazing progress in the last 10 days and is headed to a rehab center today! This will make my last 2 weeks of planning a lot less stressful and more enjoyable, not having to worry so much about her! Thanks for the  when I needed it!
