Thanks everyone, for you replies! We tried to book the junior suite with the 2 queens, but they were all booked. We really prefer the Ranchos area and have stayed there on 2 of our 4 visits, so I think I'll just take my chances with that area. We're checking in early so maybe that, along with booking the area not that many people request, we'll be OK....:p

Best of luck! I would put connecting rooms as your only room request (I would not request ranchos thinking that might improve your chances - they might give you ranchos and not have connecting rooms). Ask again at check-in if they haven't automatically assigned them to you. If you are willing, you can tell them that you are willing to switch rooms the next day if necessary to get connecting rooms (if they are not available on your check-in day).

I think checking in early and being willing to wait for the connecting rooms to open up is the best way to improve your chances.

Sounds like a plan, thanks! I changed our reservation from A of A to CSR tonight, and I'm really excited. We just LOVE CSR!!!!! :goodvibes:woohoo::goodvibes

If you stay in a business class room, can you bring food from the lounge back to your room, or do you need to eat/drink it there?

I know it would just be a request, just wondering what others have found when requesting connecting OR adjoining rooms. I guess I just don't want them in the cabanas and our room in the ranchos. ;)

We had no problem getting connecting rooms last time, and we were on 2 separate reservations that they linked. We did have to take a room in Ranchos (which ended up being fine, the walk in the mornings to the main building was actually peaceful) but we had no problems getting connecting rooms (and to be honest, we weren't sure we wanted them!)

I read a few reports of people taking the food/drinks back to their rooms. If it is anything like club level then they will let you take it out of that area.

I know what you mean. I'm thinking maybe just rooms the are "close", instead of connecting, might be nice!;)

I don't see any reason why you couldn't bring food back to your room. There are no trays or to-go boxes though - except for coffee cups/lids.

Heading back to CSR business class room in Feb (2/7 - 2/13). Stayed in the same last October with my husband for a week. This trip is with my daughter and a friend. Three girls, one bathroom. Could be interesting!

I was curious how long of a bus drive it is from DTD to this resort? I checked post #4 but didn't see a time for DTD. Thanks!

The transportation app that I have says 17 min from CSR to DTD on the bus. I'm not sure how accurate that is, hopefully someone else can give you little more specific information.

We were there December 2012 staying in Casitas 5. It took us over 45 mins on the bus to DTD, don't know if we were unlucky as my DH wouldn't go on the bus again so we drove next time :)

I think your experience was pretty typical, unfortunately. The buses to DTD are awful to/from every resort. :headache:

The construction at DTD is likely to cause further problems. :worried:

I do trust most of the transportation app information - resort to park - but DTD is a whole different animal! :headache:

Now that you say this, I remember on our first trip the bus from DTD to ASMu did take quite a long time!

I'm so aggravated....that we gave in to our Disney addiction and booked
the Cabanas 9B today, for March! :cool1:

We were just there in Dec. and loved Coronado Springs.

We went to disney in Sept for our 20th anniversary and got the disney bug again, now we just cant stop!

Thank goodness we live in Florida.

Your paying for Club level, you can take whatever back to your room.

We stayed club level at the Contemporary, and the CM's manning the club level even came and gave me a tray when I tried to carry drinks and breakfast back to my room while wifey was getting dressed.

Ugh. Thank you for all the replies about taking bus from DTD to resort. That's what I was afraid of (45 min. bus drive) which is one of the reasons we usually avoid DTD but really want to try Raglan Road restaurant. Oh well, we'll give it a try regardless.

Right there with you. Stayed at CSR for the first time in Dec 2012. Stayed there again in October last year, and am staying again in Feb. Cabanas 9B business level is the way to go!

Good thing I live in Delaware or I'd be there even more often...

We are California Annual Passholders, but visiting WDW, CSR and the Fantasy for the first time on March 15 - 29 (cruise starts 3/22). I have two daughters (11 and 13). We land on Saturday, 3/15. We are planning to go to Universal Islands on our first Sunday, 3/16 (we have a Harry Potter nut), Hollywood Studios on Monday, Water park on Tuesday, MK on Wednesday, Epcot & AK on Thursday, and Water park on Friday. I have the tickets already.

Three questions:

We won't be spending much time at CSR, and we don't worry abount the available amenities except the water slide. Any recommendations on what area we should request at CSR?

What is the best way to get to Universal on Sunday from CSR?

Is there a good reason to rent a car for part of the week?

Any and all suggestions are gratefully welcomed.

Wow! Welcome to WDW! I'm so very excited for you all. (Especially with the Fantasy cruise, too!!)

My main suggestion would be that if you've never been to WDW in Florida, that you need to realize just how big EPCOT is and how much there is to do there. Only 1 day there, and actually even splitting it with another park, would not be doing yourself any favors. You could potentially spend 2-3 normal park days at EPCOT and barely see/do everything. Food for thought.

Actually, I bet you'll be a little shocked at just HOW big the entire WDW resort area is.

MGM is now Hollywood Studios.

If you're going to do a lot at the pool at CSR, my suggestion would be to ask for Cabanas or Ranchos. They're closer to The Dig Site. The water slide at the pool is really awesome! You'll love it. (and the pool!)

Enjoy your trip.
