Hey everyone, Our first ever trip to Disney is coming up in 10 days.

I have a few questions I know you awesome people can help me with.

1. What rooms or areas of Coranado Springs should we be requesting. (2 queens and 2 kids)

2. Are all areas already renovated.

3. Fridge Situation

4. What coffee makers are in the rooms ( so I can bring)

Thanks Everyone (ALL Hints and tips welcome):goodvibes

As far as the room request goes, what are your desires? Close to the main pool? Close to quiet pool? Close to restaurants?

For ME, Cabanas is great. It's close to Bus Stop 4, very close to the Dig Site (pool), has a quiet pool and laundry room, and isn't that far from the main building with the restaurants. Besides, I love the tropical feel and the hammocks on the beautiful white sand. Aaaaahhh ...

did you check the first page of this thread it has all the pics and stuff...casittas 1,2,3 are preferred room. 4 and 5 are not. 9b in the cabanas is business class and rancheros are on the other side of the swamp area from the dig site, main pool...the rooms have queen beds or kings if you pay for kings. and the first bus pick up is bus stop 2 then 3,4,and 1 is last. the food court is on one side of the property and the main pool on the other but there is a bridge that goes across by cabana 9b......

I can tell you that my husband will probably be making a run to Dunkin every morning. That is one of the reasons we must have a rental car. He can't survive on WDW coffee. He needs his Dunkin.

Um has he figured out what the coffee pots are (pod or ground) and bring his own Dunkin???? LOL too funny. A rental just to get Dunkin is dedication.
I have to admit I was disappointed to hear about Starbucks instead of Dunkin on Main st. at MK.

We plan to have a rental but only Saturday afternoon through Monday Morning.
We are using Magic Express so will just get the car at Disney. The cab fare is crazy and we like the freedom to spend our Sunday morning the way we want to. Plus if we have the car we can pick up a few things to have in the room. I guess I might have to live without my Greek yogurt if the fridge situation isn't resolved before then. Oh well. Then again Disney might be up on the new excitement about Oinkos and Chobani.
Although I was thinking about substituting that desire with a Dole Whip.

I tell you the idea of walking at the bigger resort doesn't bother me at all. With FD, I'm going to need to be walking it off.
The only part that worries me is that it's taking more time away from me walking in the parks. Well the resort looks to be like a great substitute anyway. I think I could spend a week of vacation just exploring the different resorts.

That would be terrible!! How will you survive!! :teeth:

:rotfl2: I know it's going to be tough. Especially if I have to see the sunrise or set and OMG by a pool or in a hammock over looking a lake. Not sure that will be relaxing enough.

The older I get I'm learning to be flexible and figure it out.:goodvibes

These smilies are too funny/addictive.

I'm not a coffee drinker, however, Disney's brand of coffee has changed. It's no longer Nescafe. Now they are using Joffrey's. People are saying it's better. Of course, there is now Starbucks on Main St too.

I read on another thread that someone was trying to book CSR for 11/15-11/22 but there was no availability the night of 11/21. Anyone know of anything going on at CSR that week that would cause the lack of availability that evening? I see there is the 2013 IWLCA Annual Meeting then, but based on what I've read, doesn't seem like it would be really big. Any ideas?

Here is my guess:
With the stay being the 15th - 22nd. That means they are checking out on the morning of the 22nd.(They probably can't get the 22nd either) And with Thanksgiving being the week after(giving the chance to take a weeks vacation but get the extra holiday days), I wonder if there are a lot of people checking in on Thursday night (are flights cheaper on Thursday) to be there for Thanksgiving week. So maybe they are checking in also because of the FD ending so they are trying to get in on FD for their vacation.(I believe as long as they check in before the 23rd they get it for their stay) And then the combination of the conference.

Totally a guess.
Veterans, how did I do on my guess?

Staying at CSR for the first time this Halloween:goodvibes

I never considered this resort before but have to say I am pretty excited, it looks great!

I am wondering if there are toasters for use in Pepper Market? We usually bring our own bagels or pop tarts and like to cook them and eat on the run (or while sitting and waiting for buses as the case may be!) Also, are there coffee and hot chocolate machine there? I don't like to brew my own and would rather mix the coffee and chocolate in the food court.

I tried to check the thread, do a dis search and google..... I hope I'm not asking something that has been asked a bazillion times!

Thanks!

That's a good question. I don't remember seeing toasters at the Pepper Market. Trying to think about Café Rix? Though the way the Pepper Market is set up, I'm not sure that would be the best place to bring your own food to toast. You'd have to pick up a To Go card and turn it back in at the register.

We are going October 22-30 and were told by a CM that it was a slow time. Reading this thread seems like we got the wrong info. NERVOUS!!

I decided to call CSR to see about the toasters...I figured i wouldn't drive myself crazy trying to find a definitive answer....

i was told i could bring my own bagels (or whatever) into cafe rix but i would have to give it to a cm to toast for me. i guess we will forego bringing that stuff this trip. it seems a little pointless to have to wait for someone to cook it for us, we usually did it to save credits for other things and for it to be quick as opposed to waiting and sitting down.

i'm still excited and can't wait to try CSR! :cool1:

Just so everyone knows...The food court (or lack there of lol) here at CSR is NOT like other resorts. Pepper market has stations that you can go to for different foods. They seat you, give you a card, you go to the stations that you want food from, they stamp it with your selection, tell you how long it will be, you go back and get it when it is ready, you sit and eat and have waiters to get your drinks and such, which is why you are expected to tip. You pay as you leave.
It is kinda weird and my ds17 hates it. Dh and I never ate there. We just got Ds a pizza to go.

Cafe rix is a little (and I mean little) walk thru area with a window that you can get hot foods. They have about 5 or 6 items available there. They have a counter with baked goods, gelato and smoothies. Then they have the refill station. The sitting area for this cafe consists of about 5 small tables in the area between the cafe and the lounge.

The cafe is actually so small that my 20 & 17yo walked right past it. I had to show them the sign. Lol it had about 8ppl in there last night and it was elbow to elbow.

Coffee--
The rooms have the single cup style cuisinart. They take special disc coffee pods. It is jofferys coffee and it is really not bad at all. It is a richer coffee than the nescafe. We drink maxwell house at home and it is much bolder than that.

Any other questions, just let me know. I will try to answer them. We are here now and check out tomorrow. :)

Yep that is right. No toaster, actually I don't think there is a microwave or anything like that. The whole cafe area is probably about 15 steps from one end to the other. Nothing like a regular Disney food court. I am going down here in a minute to check on a microwave as DS has leftover pizza but no way to reheat it.

OK I am in the cafe area now and it is about 35 steps from end to end. Lol it has 8 tables and does have a microwave in the sitting area. We also saw the toaster but it is behind the counter so cm would have to do it for you.

Edit to add... cafe is about 4 1/2ft wide.

Based on the comments about Pepper Market being a sit down....if I use my FD credits, what will be subtracted? Table or Quick service?

hmm I guess I could look this up on the Disney site. But since I typed it and I know how much you all love to help. :) I'll post the question anyway.

Quick service!

From my Passporter book: Pepper Market is an upscale food court, dressed up like a festive, outdoor market.

Good question. But I am pretty sure it is quick service.

Are the coffee cups in the room disposable?

Its pods. We had the same one last year when we went. He tried it and didn't like it. Dunkin isn't the only reason we rent a car but its a definite plus for him. He doesn't like Starbucks regular coffee but loves the caramel macchiato.

I'm not a coffee drinker either. But I do drink tea which I can get just about anywhere.
