Does anyone know if the pool rapid fill station is open 24/7? Just Soda?

The Dig Site/Siesta's does not have a rapid fill station.

You can fill your mugs at the grill or bar as long they are open (until 7pm as of two weeks ago) but past that you're making the loooong walk back to El Centro.

Of course the hours at Siesta's are subject to change as 7pm was what was posted but on two seperate nights over our week everything was closed before/by 6pm without any explanation.

Buying the rapid fill mugs may just be a means of torturing myself. I could buy 72 dollars worth of soda to keep in the room which is the price of the mugs for four people and then I'd be required to walk up to one mile round trip (from Rancho) to get it filled. I'd want coffee/soda at 6:30AM and coffee/soda again at 10PM. Siesta's will just be dormant to me for my whole visit, a ghost town building, with those silly hours of operation. And the rapid fill is automated and requires the RFID (sp?) to work? Someone is not thinking about customer comforts.

I keep reading the Siesta now has the rapid fill stations, but if folks were there 2 weeks ago and say no - I stand corrected. : o )

I know what you mean about seeing that Siesta's has a station.

Before we left on the 1st I read that on two different Disney sites and when we get there of course there is nothing except for Siesta's short hours.

But then again I also take a lot of the Disney related sites with a grain of salt seeing as some don't list Cafe Rix as a place that has a station when clearly they do/are the main place that people go for refills while at CSR.

Hoping for ideas to help us stay comfortably, even if assigned a Rancheros room. I like the look of Casitas, but am hoping for Cabanas or Rancheros because (1) I would prefer not having to be hot in flip flops and stared at my others in suits or high heels and (2) i like the ambiance appeal from the photos of Cabana or Rancheros.

There is an added benefit of bus stops all around the resort. So when you get your breakfast and refill a mug you can go back to room to drop off that mug and still be close to a peripheral bus stop. And there might be a internal bus to get to the refill locations, but that might not be operating in early morning or late evenings hours when we are at the resorts instead of the parks.

Perhaps I need to replace the resort restaurant with garden grocer. My only problem will be hot water to make coffee in a French press and instant oatmeal for breakfast.

My perceptions and preferences aside, how do other non-convention park lovers deal with mornings and evenings at Coronado?

I think you are getting worked up about things that aren't really an issue. In 34 nights at CSR I've barely even noticed any convention people and there certainly wasn't anyone staring because we were in vacation clothes.

We always order breakfast supply's from Garden Grocer. It's so much quicker and convienent in the mornings to get everyone going.

All the Mod/Value resorts are spread out. Anyone who feels this will ruin their trip should be paying for a preferred location IMO. Having said that the walking times are greatly exaggerated by many. There is no walk at CSR that is over 10 mins unless you have some physical limitations.

Enjoy you trip and don't sweat the little things!

Is the whirlpool at the Dig Site the only one on the property? Is there one at the health club that guests can use?

The only hot tub is at the Digsite. It is the largest hot tub at WDW though. There is a Sauna at the health club.

I don't want a preferred Casitas room. If you always get Garden Grocer for morning meals, then you would not be going to where any convention dressed people may be in morning? you have totally confirmed my plan to use garden grocer instead of the hotel cafeteria. Maybe i can find an electric kettle/hot pot. Thank you kindly for your opinion.

We use GG at all resorts. It's so much more convenient in the morning. This last trip we stayed in a Business Class room so we ate that breakfast which was good too. They do have a limited amount of microwaves available. You can't request one until checkin and they are first come first serve, but we have been able to get one all 3 times we stayed there. If you had the right container you could make your oatmeal in the microwave.

I haven't read through the whole thread but did a couple of searches and didn't come up with the answer to this question. Does anybody know which buildings have the Handicap accessible wheelchair roll in shower rooms in them? Thanks we are traveling with my parents and they both have problems with there feet and legs and cannot climb over the tub. This room is still available and I just wanted to have an idea where they were located before booking there room.

I've been reading through this thread, and it seems that mousekeeping is not as attended to as well as it is at other resorts. I have seen a few saying that there rooms were clean, but reading other comments for absolutely major lapses in mousekeeping that seem to far outnumber the compliments :sad2:. Is there a problem with the cleanliness at this hotel? This is our first time at a moderate, I really wanted to try this resort, I have heard marvelous things about it from people who have stayed there, but I like to come home at night to a clean room with enough towels and toiletries, and this is worrying me somewhat. Is it just certain areas that have a problem, or is it a general resort wide problem? I was thinking maybe upgrading to business class might help, but our friends might have trouble affording that, and we are hoping to have rooms close to each other, so am reluctant to change to that. TIA :goodvibes

Hi all - I'll be staying for 4 nights at CSR in 5 weeks, my first time at CSR and my first solo trip! :)

I looked at the first page on this thread and at Buzz's site and couldn't find this info. I'm gluten-free and am trying to come up with some good quick breakfast options - Cafe Rix looks like all breakfast options have gluten. I could get an omelet at PM, but I'm not sure how fast that option is.

Does anyone know if Panchitos has string cheese, hard-boiled eggs, or peanut butter for sale? I don't want to order GG since I'll only be there for 4 mornings, and I have brunch planned one of those mornings - not enough need to order food from GG just for me.

Thanks for the help! :)

Just like king, they are sprinkled throughout.

We've stayed at CSR 3x for a total of 28 nights, we were last there in Sept. 2013. We've used Cafe Rix for early morning bfast pastries/yogurts and filling our mugs before we leave for the parks. We usually stay in the Cabanas 8A or Ranchos. It is not a crazy long walk but it isn't short either.

I know it has been said that the golf carts driven around by the CM's are not for guests to be transported throughout the resort but on more than one occasion I have had a CM see me walking and ask me if I wanted a ride. I always take them up on the offer and thank them :) It does happen. If being far from El Centro is a make it or break it on getting the refillable mug, then maybe purchasing soda/water/etc from garden grocer would be your best bet. If walking there and then not wanting to walk back to leave your mug in your room is a hassle (which to some it may be) then I don't see the point of purchasing them or using them.

FWIW we have spent a good amount of time in El Centro both in the morning and the evening...we've eaten at Pepper Market a few times, Maya Grill, we always browse around in Panchito's and refill our mugs multiple times at Cafe Rix, sometimes we just wander around inside El Centro and outside by the bar....we have never been stared at by anyone, conventioners or otherwise and have never felt out of place for wearing vacation clothes. The people we saw that seemed to be there on business were not in 3 piece suits, they were in polo shirts, khaki's, casual dresses, flats/sandals. I've always been comfortable in my shorts, tank top and flip flops.

I think you will find that there is the same amount of housekeeping complaints on every resort. CSR, CBR, and POR are spread out 2000 room resorts, it can't be easy to keep all those rooms perfect. The complaints are a mixture of actual realistic problems, some over anal people, and some unrealistic expectations. There probably is some luck involved I guess. One thing I can say for sure I have never had any problem getting problem resolved at CSR big or small. I've found the service to be excellent. My personal belief is a lot of the complaints of bad service have something to do with how certain people carry themselves.

I totally agree. If you handle yourself with respect and understanding of the staff (CMs) and what they are doing then you will be better equipt to accept and resolve. Keeping in mind that your vacation is reliant on someone else's work can also be seen from their perspective. If you can put yourself in their shoes and speak to them how you would like to be spoken to you will more likely than not get a warmer and more helpful response.

I've experienced issues while away with someone who would push and threaten when things did not go their way. Our issues were resolved, but I did not feel good about how they were handled. This was years ago at a different Disney resort, but the idea is still the same.

On the flip side, I have come across similar issues and handled it with respect and kindness. Our issues were again resolved, but this time I knew the CM's name and felt comfortable waving and talking to them during the trip. No one was uncomfortable and I feel good about it rather than bad.

Hi all, just checked the convention schedule and there is something called the America's Miss Beautiful Pageant going on while we are there. I tried to google it but all I got was Miss America. Does anyone know if this would be a cause for keeping an eye out for increased traffic or the like?

This exactly, IMO! In our 4 stays, we had a problem once, called to have the problem addressed, and it was taken care of immediately. No resort or hotel will be perfect, ever, but if I call with a problem and its taken care of in a timely manner, then I'll be coming back. Looking forward to our 5th CSR stay in May!!! :goodvibes
