Just popping in to say hello to all of my fellow CSR lovers. Sorry I've not been around a lot. My bosses wife is ill and is having a medical procedure this week and, at the age of 86, I've been going to their home to work with my boss. And our youngest son got engaged a week ago and we were with them this weekend.

Hope those of you with trips coming up all have magical stays. :goodvibes

Just saw a post on another board stating they waited two hours for a bus to the Magic Kingdom. I am sure it is a bit exaggerated, but are the buses that bad? If we are going to have to wait for extended periods of times for buses, might consider switching resorts.

For the month of March the monorail is shutting down from 11:30am to 6:30pm. I believe for maintenace. That means the only way to get around to MK is by bus or boat. I'm sure the wait is quite long, but 2hrs is a little extreem

Extreem to say the least!!!!!!!

Not believable!

The most I have ever waited at WDW for a bus is 30 min.. and that was at a park at closing. Epcot

I know they shut down the monarail to complete construction at GF but WDW transportation would up the bus service.

Who ever posted that is either in to big of a hurry or can't tell time. If that was at the POLY you can walk in 10 min. to MK. Also, if you can afford a stay at the POLY then you can afford a cab. No one I know would wait two hrs. for the bus.
Not believable!

As stated before, The bus problems are not the fault of any resort but that of transportation. Stay where you want because if you move you could have bus problems anywhere.

The monorail is back up and running its normal hours now. :goodvibes

I just did online check-in this morning. It was unable to put my requests or my celebration on the reservation. :sad2: Hope it is not messed up when we check-in on the 24th! We will be arriving early to get to AK before 10am.

We are also checking in CSR on the 24th!!! Hope you have a great time:cool1:

Awww - congrats to Markie and Alisha! :bride: Are they planning a WDW wedding? ;)

Nice to see you checking in on us! :goodvibes

Does anyone know if there is anywhere I can refill my resort mug with Coke Zero? I have a bit of an addiction and really can't get moving in the morning without it. Diet Coke just isn't the same.

I know WDW is a Coke facility. I'm trying to find out too if Coke Zero is available anywhere there and at CSR.

Might make the difference between us getting the mugs or not.

I, too, would like to know about the availability of Coke Zero at CSR. Last year, it appeared that all of the soda fountains around the Polynesian/Monorail resorts had been changed from Cherry Coke to Coke Zero. (Personally I would have left Cherry Coke and deleted something else since my two favorites are Cherry Coke and Coke Zero.) Since all of the coke offerings at DW appear to be mostly uniform, I assume that this switch was also done at CSR. Can anyone confirm, please, for the Coke Zero fans!! :) Thanks!

I don't know the answer to this - I'm a Diet Coke drinker and don't remember if Coke Zero is there or not. I'm thinking not, but it has been over a year since I was at CSR. Anyone there now or going soon that can check for us?

I'm going soon and I can most definitely check and report back!! ... If nobody else reports back before I go. :thumbsup2

I am leaving for CSR in 9 days. Dis online check in yesterday and the page came up for location requests and I entered them but then I got a message that said requests could not be noted.

Called CSR directly this evening and talked to a very friendly CM. She put my Cabanas request on my reservation for me and even asked if I had a specific building or room. I said no...just Cabanas because I did not want to be picky but I did mention we enjoy the first floor. Hoping we get Cabanas and first floor would just be a plus.

Can't wait now if my team can just make the final four I will get to watch my favorite team at my favorite place in between trips to the Dig Site and parks.

I will gladly check on the Coke Zero availability if no one else has by then.

Will anyone be there March 29-April 4? :yay:

It's nice to see you, KatMark!! I don't know if you remember me. We met for a chat at the Dig Site pool in Sept. 2010. I'm the Port Orleans fan who was giving CSR a try. :)

We stayed at POFQ last August, and are going to be returning to CSR this Sept. for free dining. We're looking forward to it!

Congratulations on your family's engagement!

Thank you, Mary. We are all very excited. Unfortunately, no WDW wedding though. :sad2:

Kelly, yes, I do remember you! Thanks for the good wishes for my son and his bride to be. We love Alisha as if she is already a member of our family -- she is a gem.

Enjoy your stay at CSR. I miss it; but it looks like we'll be at Old Key West again this year.

Hello everyone! I am new to the board and this is the only thread I have read so far (all 80-something pages of it over the last few days).:surfweb:

As you can see from my ticker, I am going to WDW for the FIRST time ever with my DH (it will be his third time though first in about 20 years) for our honeymoon (we were married in 2008 and for (mostly my) health reasons have been unable to take a "real" honeymoon).

We have decided to stay at the CSR because our travel agent told us it's a great hotel for adults (and my DH wanted the spa and gym facilities). We are going from May 12 - May 19.

Thank you so much to the moderators of this thread and for all of you for the helpful information and tips. I have to admit I am a little overwhelmed due to the size of the place and almost thought about switching to another resort.

It may be on here somewhere, but here are my questions:

1. We booked through AAA. Is it still possible to do the online check-in? Also, can I put in a location request or do I have to have my TA do it?

2. I'm sort of OCD and a bit of a germaphobe. If I don't want mousekeeping to clean the room (I'd rather take a few minutes and do it myself each morning), what do I do? Put a "do not disturb" sign out?

3. I'd really like to be near El Centro. What is the best location? I am not as concerned about the dig site or bus stops at this point.

4. I've only seen it mentioned a couple of times but... how bad is the language barrier?

5. As we will be using ME from the airport, is it better to grab your bags and take them on the bus or to let them handle it?

Thank you!

My itinerary has changed once again! :lmao: We're now flying to WDW! I seem to recall, though, that there was some difficulty in getting to DTD from the resort. Does anyone have an estimate for the time it will take?

Our flight gets in shortly after 1 pm and we have dinner reservations at Rainforest Cafe at 5 pm. (It was that or 7:30 pm which is just too late for our kids.) I wouldn't worry about it - however - when we started planning our trip over a year and a half ago DH was very excited about RFC because he's eaten in one before and knew our kids would love it. So he showed them pictures and promised them we would go when we went to Disney. I never dreamed it would be so tough to get a reservation!

If there is anything my DD will remember, it's that we promised she would get to eat at RFC. Nevermind that she'll get to eat with Princesses and Mickey and Pooh and more Princesses... :rotfl2:
