From what I was told when we were there last weekend (we are still in Marco), there guess is that Casitas 1, 2 and possibly 3 and Cabanas 8A and 8B would be "preferred." This would leave Casitas 4 and 5, all of the Ranchos and Cabanas 9A and 9B as NOT preferred.

Wow that's a still a good selection of buildings to choose from. So, if we request one of those non-Preferred, how often do they grant requests at CSR?

We have always gotten our requests. In visiting some other DIS members this past week, a few got the Ranchos and asked to be moved and were able to do so. It all comes down to availability.

Thanks for your great review. I am thrilled that you enjoyed your stay at the CSR. And we enjoyed visiting with you as well. And, yes, we did get our Fast Passes for TSM and rode it twice. I hope you were able to find some medicine in the gift shop.

If anyone ever needs any over-the-counter medicine that Disney doesn't have on their property - it turns out you can order it quite easily. CSR's gift shop gave me a phone number for a drug store. The drug store delivered the decongestants to the front desk for me to pick up, and only charged a $5 delivery fee! Best part, the meds & delivery charge were added to my KTTW so I didn't have to give out my US Visa card #.

$5 delivery charge was well worth it when we were not renting a car, and did not want to leave Disney or lose park time!

I've tried to book CSR for July 2011 but it keeps coming up as not available online. My TA tried to book as well and said the rooms weren't loaded for July yet. does this have to do withthe preferred room status or is it a glitch only I am getting?

What time does Maya Grill open for breakfast? The earlier I could get an ADR was 8:45, but it seems like people have been pretty successful just walking up there for a meal. I'd like to go earlier if we can.

I'm not sure, but I just put a random date into Disney Dining and was offered a 7 am ADR (I picked a January date to try to find a date that might have a lot of availability. I'd keep checking for your date but also try to walk up when they open.

If there is not a convention, you'll probably have better luck with a walk-up.

It could be a glitch, or it could be that CSR is not available one of your nights. I just put in July 16-22 and found availability in all categories (including preferred).

I always call to book, but I do check availability online.

That musts be it I was looking for July 5-20 and I can't get anything there until the 16th I am guessing we won't be staying there. I won't be able to convince my family to pack up in move for the last 4 days of our trip. Maybe something will open up later. I am surprised that as large as this resort is that there is nothing available for those dates this far in advance. There must be some sort of big confernece going on.

Sometimes blocks of rooms are held for conventions, then released closer to the date. It might just be one night of your trip that is the issue, so you might get lucky if someone cancels. I'd keep checking, but if you call, the CM might be able to let you know if it is just one night or many that is the problem.

I did a random search (used 07/10/11 - 07/20/11) and while CSR wasn't showing as available, other resorts were.

Just got back from our 1st stay at CSR. It's a beautiful resort and I love it but there were some issues with house keeping forgetting to come and clean our room one night and not cleaning throughly like they could of. Other than that we loved the resort.

I as able to get my request of 6B which was close to the dig site and also a ground floor room which was great in saving time to try and find the stairs or elevator. We didn't get a chance to use the dig site as much as I wanted so I think next time if we stay at CSR we will probably try the casistas or the cabana's that are closer to El Centro.

We did get a chance to eat at the pepper market our initial night we stayed there and the food was so so. It wasn't the great but it wasn't bad either. I did love the gellato at Rix Cafe. I think I had some almost every night.

Overall we would stay there again. I'll try to post some pics I took while at the resort.

Not sure about the ruben but my wife had the steak fajitas.

Just wanted to say welcome back Kathy and thanks for all the work you put into the CSR thread. We all really appreciate it!

In 11 days we'll be checking into CBR. I really wanted my Mark to try something different, so booked us at CBR this time, but then got cold feet and tried to switch to CSR, but was unable to do so. Oh well, I'll be back at CSR in Dec. Can't wait and I know we'll have a great time either way.
