Hi all...
Primarily want to wish Mark a speedy recovery:hug:
Secondly, my family and I are 40 days out to our First WDW vacation on property at CSR.

I wanted to know how I could request a building preference and if it is possible to request specific rooms (corner or lake view). Also, what are the best areas to be in (rooms as well)?

I am going with my DS 13, DD 11, DBf undisclosed 2 digit number :rotfl:

Thanks for all your help

Adding my best wishes for Mark and for you to all those already here, Kat.

Kathy- hope Mark has a speedy recovery and all is well!

I haven't been around in a while, but we are finally planning a new trip. March 5-11 at CSR. We are planning to try the QSDP this time and are hoping for the 4/3 deal or a pin. We have been at CSR the last 2 thanksgivings and never got a pin, but when we didn't book for this year i started getting them and have gotten the last 3 that went out, so mabye I will get one for Msrch!

We are staying at CSR for a quick anniversary trip and I was thinking of requesting the Ranchos area since it looks the quietest. Does it have its own parking area so that we can park our car there without having to walk back to the main building?

Yes, there's parking behind every building. You don't have to go the main building; in fact, from the Ranchos, I'd probably drive to El Centro to get my coffee!

I have a quick question hoping someone can help me. We will be going to CSR in a month and i have a 10 and 6 yr old that want to stay near the dig site(i think this would be best for them) can someone tell me 3 options on where to stay so i can request the room to stay at.

this is the 1st time I am staying at CSR and want the boys to have a great time.

any help would be greatly appreciated...

Brian

Just upgraded my 30% pin to a 35% pin for my CSR ressie!! Thanks to my brother (the pin came in his e-mail) Woohoo! Staying in a king room Dec. 8-11 and requested Casita 4 and Cabana 8A.

For everyone else going then - she said that during that time of year Casita and Cabana requests usually are fulfilled! Here's to hoping...

We are very excited...just booked 8 nights for our first stay @ CSR!!! We've stayed in several other onsite resorts and always wanted to try this one but it was usually booked. August 19-27 w/Free DDP.

A world of thanks to everyone that has contributed to this thread, and especially Kat & Mark (best wishes for a speedy recovery!).

casitas 5 is nice ,we just left last week after a week (first time in asitas 5) they are half way between the dig site and hotel lobby and bus stop 2 in close. I dont know what it is but the casitas feel solid and no noise from other rooms ....

Cabanas 8A is the closest building to the Dig Site. There is also a bus stop right across it. This is where we would like to be with our 11 and 6 year olds.

My second choice is Cabanas 8B, and third is Casitas 5.

Strange... I just tried to add a link to a map for you, but it just puts a bunch of stars..

You can just request "close to Dig Site" on your room reservation. Sometimes that is better than requesting a specific building because the room assigner doesn't know why you request a building and doesn't know where to put you if that building is full. If you would like to make a specific building request, the closest to the Dig Site are cabanas 8A and 8B and Ranchos 7B.

You can call and add room requests to your reservation. You can also fax in a request about 5 days before you arrive (the fax number is near the beginning of this thread). It is best to limit your requests to two or so - it makes it easier for the room assigners to find a suitable room (for example, cabanas lake view, not cabanas 8A, corner room, lake view, top floor).

Water view is a booked category and may include lake, pool or fountain. If you have booked a water view and want to specific lake view, you can add that to your requests. If you haven't booked a water view room, it would be unlikely (but still possible) to have a lake view.

The best areas depend on your priorities - easy access to the first bus stop, the Dig Site, El Centro, the fitness center, etc. This is taken from the first page of the thread and might give you some ideas:

Cabanas 9B is now “Club Service” for convention guests. When there is no convention being held at the CSR, the rooms in Cabanas 9B are available to regular resort guests (however, they do not have use of the Club Level services).

For conventioneers the Casitas 1 or 3 are good locations. However, they are a longer walk to the Dig Site Pool.

For adult couples, especially honeymooners or those celebrating anniversaries Casitas 4 or 5 with a water view is a perfect location. Casita 4 has the quiet pool, fitness center, spa, salon, and both are near to bus stop #2.

For “leisure guests with children” here are some great locations; Cabana 8a, Rancho 7b, Cabana 8b, 9a, Rancho 6b, and 6a...in that order. Nearness to El Centro is usually of no importance to many guests. It's much more important to be close to the park bus stops and the “Dig Site”. Leisure guests may come to El Centro once or twice; but they will be at the buses twice a day (at least) and the pool often when they are at the resort.

For adults or large families who wish to be close to a park bus stop and to a “quieter pool” but are not interested in the theme pool, building 7a is great and has close proximity to parking.

Building 2 also is close to parking and usually one of the quietest buildings, especially from the 4th floor. The fourth floor of building actually includes part of the upper floors of building 3 and has easy access to the convention center by way of the elevator courtyard of building 1

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building (closest to the pool).

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above (9a has a quiet pool).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Enjoy your trip!

First, I want to thank ALL of you for the continued good wishes and prayers for Mark. He was able to eat some solid food today for the first time since Tuesday night (I made a Smoked Butt, potatos and carrots and the meat was soft enough and he smashed the potatos and carrots). His neck is still swollen and he still has trouble swallowing, but he is definitely feeling better today. Both of our colds seems to be doing better as well (my doctor finally called in a cough syrup with codine and I slept ten hours straight last night). I don't go back to work until Wednesday (Mark is playing it by ear). If he feels up to it we will go to Brookfield Zoo on Monday.

It looks as if all questions posted have been answered while I've been taking care of Grumpy (sorry...I meant Mark...Grumpy is what I named in my PTR :lmao:). If I missed anything, please post again and I will answer a little quicker tomorrow...promise. :)

Yay! So glad he is doing better, and I'm happy to see you posting because that means you got some sleep and he is doing well. I hope tomorrow is an even better day!

We just booked our first stay at CSR. My question is should I request a certain area within CSR? My only request so far is near a bus stop. I have three children and it's difficult to walk long distances to get to a bus.

Also, are all the rooms updated? I requested a room with two queen beds (our youngest is 2 and will sleep between us).

Thank you!
