Sounds great, by the time you get there we will be over our jet lag!! My little one who is only just 3 loves the company of other boys, as his two older sisters boss him around! I am sure we will see one another. We will be there until the 3rd. O.k so back to being excited again now. Thanks guys.

After much discussion in our household, we have decided to move our reservation to a different week at POFQ. While I think it is the best decision for DD, I am truly looking forward to visiting CSR another trip; I just wanted to thank you for the welcome, and reiterate how much I appreciate the work put into organizing all the info in this thread.

Enjoy your stay at the POFQ. I have a friend who loves it there.

19 days to go!!! :woohoo:

With the online check in, is there a "close to transportation" request you can check for CSR?

I don't remember if it did or not. We are at 22 days. :)

Thank you for sharing your experience. I did tell my husband the reviews and he reminds me when we stayed at GF (we had bad bus experience) and water was turned off for 6 hours (a pipe broke in the building we were staying)...things happened but I did not let it ruin our trip. Then at AKL we had the worst bus too (50 min wait to MK and DTD bus never came when we waited over 45 mins). I guess I'm just second guessing.

O.K so now I have calmed down.....I guess you read good and bad about every resort. It just looks so nice in the photos that rubbish around the place etc doesn't fit into what I imagine the resort to be like. We were booked into pop at first then after reading some bad reviews decided to up grade to moderate. The CM on the phone told me CSR was by far the best moderate so thats why we booked here. I can't now say to my DH oh by the way I need a couple more thousand so we can stay deluxe! As we need two rooms for the six of us staying 14nights it gets expensive. Especially given our dollar is 85cents to yours. I think I need to stop reading and just start counting....yeah right as if I will stop reading!!!!

Take a look at this post...maybe this will help you guys breathe a little easier:

Thanks KatMark, I think you should be working for CSR Kat. You must really enjoy your stays there. You have helped me many times on this thread. xx

You are too sweet! And it would be my dream to work there (perhaps when Mark reaches retirement and we move to Florida, he can drive the monorail and I can work at CSR). We do enjoy our stays there. As much as we loved our stays at the Poly, we just as much love the CSR and the price is better (and they have a hot tub and spa/fitness center which the Poly does not have). I realize that each resort has their share of problems and faults, but they have never been bad enough to ruin a trip. I see you arrive on the 20th. We leave on the 21st; I wish we would have a chance to say hello.

We are at 13 days...:cool1:
The countdown clock has never moved soooo slow.
KatMark-
I am like 3 hours south of ya in Spfld! I can't wait to actually meet someone that I have been chatting with on the DIS.
Hope everyone on here has a great and safe trip.

We've been to, passed through Springfield a number of times. :)

How long are you there? Do you leave before we get there? I can't remember everyone's dates. (:

It's funny how resorts are either "in" or "out" at any given time. First time I stayed at CSR, all I read was how horrible it was and how wonderful Port Orleans is. But, we stayed there anyway and I was blown away. It really has the most amenities of any of the moderates and pictures don't do it justice. It really is a beautiful resort. I have never experienced anything bad there. At times maybe the front desk people were not as overly Disney as some of the other resorts. I would say they were more professional, but never rude or unattentive.
Although one of most surprising pixie dust moments came from a castmember working the luggage storage area. Boyfriend at the time was checking us out and I was sitting on the side of the little fountain looking I can only assume pretty pathetic. Boyfriend and I had actually broken up a few days before the trip but since we were in days of going we decided to go anyway and it would be our last trip together. So anyway, there I sat feeling sad when the castmember must have spotted me. He came up to me and said hold on a second, I have something for you. He came back with an autographed picture of Mickey Mouse that was signed "See ya again soon, Mickey".:wizard:
I had to smile cause it snapped me out of my miserableness and I realized just because I wasn't coming back with the boyfriend, didn't mean I wouldn't be coming back!
So this yr will be my 5th stay at CSR and I can't wait. CSR is much more in favor on the boards these days. So I guess my point is ....don't let other people make your decisions whether a resort is good or bad. If it appeals to you ...try it.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful story. It warmed my heart. And your last paragraph is perfect!

I can't tell you what to do. In eight stays, we have never had any of these problems at the CSR. In fact, I have always pointed out to my DH, how immaculate the grounds are. A good friend here on the DIS who has stayed at both the CSR and the CBR, preferred the CSR. While he was at the CBR in April, there was a large bag of trash, from the maids, left two doors down from their room for three days. These things happen.

The worse thing we have had happen to us a the CSR was a light bulb out for two days. We had worse issues at the Contemporary with a non-working toilet (for 12 hours), a dripping faucet our entire stay, and crumbs never vacummed up. It can and does happen at every resort.

You will need to go with your heart and make a decision.

I'm not second-guessing. I'm very much looking forward to our stay at CSR! See everyone in almost 2 weeks!

By the way Kyl - my kids are 11 (dd) and 6 (ds). Maybe they'll get along with your 11 and 7 year old!

I've got a pretty long countdown - but wanted to pop in and say I'm really excited to stay here. The rooms are just so cool looking! Thank you to everyone who has shared their positive experiences. :)

Hi eveyone! I am very excited as my first stay at CSR is one week from today!! :yay:

I have not done the online check in yet or requst a room via fax. I guess I have not done it yet is because I am not sure where to stay!! I am so confused. There are 4 people in my party. 2 adults and 2 children (5 & 9). I want to be closer to the bus stop & prefer to be closer to one of the first pick up stops. Also being close to the Pool would be nice. (quiet pool is fine!) When should I send it in? Should I do online check in first?

Also, I have reservations for breakfast at Cinderella's Castle at 9:15. What time do you suggeset I leave CSR by bus? How early will they let me into MK? Do you think we could get in before the park opens? I think it opens at 9:00.

I am so very excited for this trip. I want to do so much but also want it to be relaxed.

I only have dinner reservations for one night (out of the 5). How hard is getting into resturants without a reservation? My husband does not want to be held down to a strick schedule. (I made sure I have the Cinderalla & chef Mickey reservations).

Sorry I made this so long. I truly appreciate your help !!

I booked my trip for CSR last week. This will be my first trip back to Disney since 1998. I am doing the :cool1:... It will be my dd first trip to Disney. Yay!!!!!:cheer2:

Sounds good DaniB. What dates will you be in the land. We will be there from the 20th, but will not be out of bed I think until late that afternoon. As we arrive at orlando airport at 5am after flying for 24hrs we will be sleeping for a few:scared1:. But after that the dig site will be a must for us...so hopefully we will see you there:thumbsup2

Although I have just over 4 months before the "magic" begins - I am sooo excited I can hardly stand it. This will be my first time at CSR, and was a little nervous about booking here due to several posts that were quite unhappy with the cleanliness of the rooms. However, I am concentrating on all the positive things I've been reading here and look forward to checking in! Thanks for all the pictures - it looks wonderful. :yay:

Don't let a couple of bad reviews throw you. Just look at this thread there have been over 3000 posts and the great majority have been postive. There were 5 CSR threads before this one with as many posts and again there were only a few bad reviews out of the thousands of good ones. Every resort AT Disney or anywhere for that matter can have a glitch every once in a great while.
As for the wet sheets, I'll share this. I was going to change my bed linen and grabbed some freshly laundered sheets from the dryer. They had that nice warmness. I made the bed. Later that night, I went to turn down the bed and the sheets were wet! Apparently the sheets were so warm from the dryer that I couldn't feel they were still damp when I made the bed. Believe me I love crawling into my nicely made bed and I would never have purposely put damp sheets on it. This could hvae happened in the instance posted.

I have TOTALLY done that before. :rotfl:

We'll be there from the 14th to 23rd.

On the 20th, we'll be at AK for early Donald's Safari breakfast ressies and al day. Followed by the Pals & Pirates Firework Voyage.

Hmm... our next two days are park days, but we'll be back early evening to relax around Dig Site. And Thurs morning (23rd) we'll be at Dig Site for a bit as well before leaving for ME around 12:30pm.

Hope to run into you!

We would be walking to the dig pool more than the bus stop. Maybe I will stick with cabanas 8a and walk in the morning to the first bus stop? Any idea how long that would take. Could get my morning coffee as well maybe?
The stop should be about a 10 minute walk. You do have to cross the parking lot which could make it longer. But the good news is that you have to pass El Centro to get from Cabanas to Casitas, so it's no big deal to stop and get your morning coffee!

19 days to go!!! :woohoo:

With the online check in, is there a "close to transportation" request you can check for CSR?
No. With on-line check in, there's no place for requests for any resort. The thing is that you're always close to transportation at CSR! It may not be the stop you want, but it's close!

I can't wait to get there! All the pictures just make me more excited to stay at CSR. We have only stayed at FW and AKL, so a new resort is just the ticket for us. Plus this is my and DH's first trip in over 20 yrs. w/o kids so we want to make new "Disney" memories in a new place. I know to take reviews with a grain of salt, good or bad and I am looking forward to seeing for myself. Keep on posting your pix and info, hopefully it will help tide me over till I get there!:yay::santa::banana:

Can anyone give me a rough idea of what beer prices are at Panchito's. We are debating on whether to find a way to buy beer off property or just buy it there. Probably 6 packs or 12 packs. Thanks very much.
