Never stayed there before, will be driving down soon. Is there a good area of the resort to request? Do you know if the hotel has the pool slides fixed and ready to use yet? How are the busses to the parks? Any info you can provide would be greaty appreciated. :goodvibes

We stayed here in November and we loved it! We had requested Casitas 9b, but of course did not get it. We ended up in Ranchos 6b (I think)... way in the back, but I turned out to like it a lot! The bus stop was right outside and it was the first one at the resort (bus stops at the front LAST), and we never missed a bus... and first drop off too. The walk to the front wasn't bad, about 8 min. I'd say at a semi-leisurely pace. Pool was about 4 min.

I read the slide is supposed to open up after 4/18... don't know that for sure.

Have fun! CSR is an awesome resort!

First, hope you enjoy your stay at the CSR...it is our favorite resort (we will be there for the 7th time in September). All of the areas of the resort are lovely. That being said, we have only stayed in the Casitas Buildings as we like to be close to the quiet pool and the spa (we typicall ask for Building 4 or 5 and have been in 5 the last three years with a view of the lake and last year had a hammock right outside our window). Casitas 1 is closest to the main building; from Casitas 5, where we stay, it is a five minute walk to the main building and a seven minute or so walk to the main pool, the Dig Site. The Cabanas are also close to the main building with the Ranchos being the fartherst. However, you can try to get a ride on the golf cart that roams the grounds. We rent a car so we have only used the buses once. We have numerous people that we have met at the CSR tell us they are the best buses in all of Disney. I was told directly by the manager's office of the CSR that the slide was closed March 31-April 26. However, it has been noted on here that it was opening on April 18. I cannot confirm that though.

First let me say that I am shocked that a I'm the fourth poster and Buzz has not weighted in yet!

We've been twice, for our second trip we requested and got the Cabanas because they are close to both the main buildings and the main pool. Also they are close to Bus Stop #4. As for the slide it was up and running in February but I can't speak for right now.

Still no Buzz and I'm number 5! :scared1:

CSR is amazing. What I liked the most was that I was staying delux lite for the price of a mod. You'll absoulutely enjoy it, the food at pepper market is to die for. Plus they have real coffee.

Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

First, let me say I laughed when I read Qman's post about Buzz:rotfl: It wasn't until after I posted the initial question that I discovered all there is to know about Coronado Springs because of Buzz. I have been enjoying the fruits of his labor ever since, and have since phoned the resort and requested the Cabana area. Thank you, everyone for all your helpful comments...I wasn't sure what we were going to expect since we have stayed on property quite a few other times, just not here yet, but now I am really excited about. Thank you all again!:)

Just got back from a 4 night stay at CSR! Overall it was a very nice stay. We paid for a standard room and ended up with a water view room over the lake in Casitas 3. I loved the grounds, the view from our room, the buses, and the calm environment. I did not like the long walk to the bus stop- with 2 small kids (4 and 1) I ended up carrying the sleeping 1 year old at night off of the bus and up into his room. Even when we drove, the walk from the parking lot to the room was long. I would not pay for a waterview room. With no balcony, really the only time you get to see the water is leaving your room, or looking out your front window. And how often do you sit and look out the window of your hotel room when everyone can see in? One other negative is that we were too far from the main pool to really think about going over there since we were mainly there to go to the parks. We never waited too long for a bus and were able to get on the first one that came as they were never too full. We did not like the Pepper Market. We have a son with dairy allergies and they were not helpful at all.
