Do you have to request a refrigerator or do the rooms just have them? Also do they have safes in the rooms?

you do not have to request them. they come standard in the rooms. also, there are safes too... they don't fit any large items but they're good for things like cell phones, credit cards, jewelry, wallets, etc..

Refrigerators are standard in all moderate and deluxe resorts. As pp stated, the safes are not large and they use a key.
