Just got back from a quick (4 night) trip to the world. We've stayed at many of the Disney resorts. Everything from a honeymoon at the Grand Floridian to All Star Movies. We are also DVC members so are a bit spoiled by the big beds, whirlpool tub and full kitchen I can get in our 1 bedroom there. This, however, was a quickly planned trip and being out of DVC points we wanted to do it as affordably as we could.
Now that you have my background let me tell you I really liked this resort.
The theming was very nice both in our room (Ranchos 7B) and in the main areas of the resort. We visited the dig site and that looked awesome. Too cold on this trip to do any swimming, but I can see why this pool area is very popular.
Cast members we met were all very nice and I think the gift shop had a great selection. We never did eat in the Pepper Market, but did find the little take-out store great on our first night when we got to the resort after 11 pm.
The grounds are beautiful and great for walking around.
The bus stop (#4) was very convenient to our room.
The only negative I have about this resort is the bus service itself. Both times we left Epcot (once about 3pm in the afternoon and another time at 8pm) we waited forever for a bus. The evening time was the worst of the two with us waiting at least 3o minutes and those in the front of the line (there was a fairly long line when we got there) waiting close to 45 - 50 minutes. Every other bus went by while we waited and when we pulled out we could see 10 other Disney buses just sitting in the other lot.
I know we'll get an ouline survey in the next couple of weeks so I will definately mention it then.
Other than the bus problem the trip was fantasic. I wouldn't hesitate recommending this resort. I honestly don't know if we'll ever stay here again as I do prefer our DVC resorts (sorry I'm not a big fan of double beds) and there are still other Disney resort we haven't experienced yet. I love trying new things.
I give Coronado a big thumbs up!
