OP, I've stayed at Coronodo Springs several times and I really enjoy the resort. I haven't read trip advisor reviews for CS recently but it is just irresponsible to classify a whole review system as trip advisor as a bunch of complainers. It can be so common for 2 guests to have completely different experiences at any given resort depending on a particular set of circumstances. I would not discount a negative review because it is from a trip advisor reviewer the same as I would not expect perfection because a post on the dis was glowing. Common sense should prevail. I love to read reviews any time I travel and it is pretty easy to find common ground. I believe most people on travel sites try and help others with their comments. When someone bashes a whole site, well take that from the source.
I've read some of the most ludicrous posts here on the Dis regarding Disney. Some people on this site wouldn't post a negative review about Disney if their life depended on it. Would I state that this site is not worthy because of some crackpot comments? No, there is a lot of valuable information regarding Disney here. But, a lot of it can be tilted in Disney's favor because people on here are huge fans (myself included).
So, my opinion is read Dis reviews, read trip advisor reviews and its pretty easy to see the truth. As I stated earlier, for what its worth, I've enjoyed Coronodo Springs. If something is unacceptable when you get there, address it immediately. I've had problems in the past at different resorts and if you are polite but firm, most times things have worked out.
Great Post!
When we finally got to our room, I walked in and the carpet squished from being saturated. Not sure what the reason was but we had to switch rooms. At this point my extended family is still spread throughout the resort. Something happened with their computers and everyone checking in on that particular day had to check out the next morning and recheck in. Luckily when we rechecked in our family was moved to the same building.
But you have to realize all of this chaos ate away a day of our vacation. Get to the new room and our furniture was broken (literally door off the cabinet), curtain rod was hanging by one one side, and room was dirty. We were so happy to be close to each other we did not say a thing. Our fridge did not work nor did the ac in my parents room. Our room was never cleaned. We had a ring in the toilet bowl that only got worse, dirty floors, it was gross. We had issues with items being replenished in our hotel room too. No ice bags, no tp, no towels...it actually became a joke. My daughter ended up in the ER because her dust allergies (which we did not know she had at that point) were in such bad shape that her eyes swelled shut.
Just to give a hint at the amount of dust in the room. I can keep going...we had issues at the pool too. But I just want to give people a heads up that this seems to be an issue at that resort. Not sure why. We have stayed at Pop, ASMo, ASMu, POR, POFQ, and WL and never once did we encounter anything like what we did at CSR. I would never again stay there. Then add the convention crowd to the mix. I honestly feel that the hotel staff makes sure that the convention guests are well taken care of in the best of rooms and the regular guests are second rate.
I posted when we got home and I got flamed and people accused me of bashing Disney. Things happen. I get it. She now gets an allergy alert in the room and they do a special cleaning.
